I think they may be floating down Fountain Creek! I'm in Tennessee right now but I saw the rainfall totals for the springs area were around 4 inches! Hope all is well Frank and Lynn. I'll call y'all when I get back

5.10 inches total. The backyard flooded. Link, Markshuffle and C&S roads looked like a lake with a nice trout stream going through them. I did not have an option, I had to make it to work..... Colorado Springs did not look that bad as it seemed to be concentrated in Fountain.

Did 140 miles today. Rode over Guanella pass from the Georgetown side to Grant on 285. It is a fantastic new paved road until you get down the South side. New pavement ends and goes to the old pavement that you have to dodge some pot holes. Then the last 3 miles before Grant, it turns to hard pack dirt. not bad but well worth the ride. I would advise Georgetown to Grant because on the dirt uphill their would be washboard areas and they are much easier going down instead of going up. The Aspen are in full color up there too.

Thanks Frank. Bike is 8 years old and still looks and runs better than new. I climbed the 14teener in the pic a few years ago. Mt. Bierstadt.

John, you weren't heading west on Hwy 67 out of Sedalia a few weekends ago were you? I was out on my 1125R that Sunday and saw a few Buellers go by, don't see too many out on the roads, and looked like the same model.

Brian,
I was down there around that time. Good possibility it was me. I did see a 1125 that day so probably you.

Just for good measure, today I rode my bicycle from Georgetown up and over Guanella pass and down the other side to the end of the smooth pavement. Then had to come back over and back down to Georgetown. One helluva climb.

I have been spending a lot of time over in the Pike Nat Forrest on my 1125 and Uly lately, great roads! Glad to see that there are fellow Buellers out here; this board seemed kind of quiet.

Brian - I like your choice in rides.
Mine are almost identical.
I ride the Uly a little more than Loretta tho, need to get both out more.

I'll likely ride Loretta to Ft. Collins tomorrow and the Uly when the wife and I go up to Cheyenne for my final cataract surgery at the VA Wednesday.

Hey Zack,

How is life going on the new job? I took Reba Lucille to High Country last Friday to have the final warranty replaced stator put in. I'll probably be up in there this coming Friday if the bike is ready. Good news on getting the second eye fixed.

Ciao

Zack, The Uly / 1125 is a nice combination for whichever mood I am in when I wake up. Good luck on the surgery. Any CBR meetings / rides coming up that anyone knows about?

Hey guys and gals, are any of you interested in doing a group charity for CrotchRocketTV's racing effort on the 1190RS? I suggested to him the idea of allowing a group of people to pool their money and "adopt" a rear racing tire for them to use. There would be pictures of our cute little tire, both before and after Shawn Higbee uses it. He said each rear tire costs about $300.00. The whole costs is more than I could do out of my pocket alone and that is why I thought it might be a fun group activity.

I'll help Jody...pm me with what you need and I'll see how much I can do.

Do you know if that race is going to be on TV?

I doubt the race will be on regular tv, but Rob will be making video, possibly even a rider cam video, and sharing it through his web site. Let me get that link for you:

http://crotchrocket.tv

Don't skip the introduction, it really is worth it.

Brian and Steve, why don't you pm me with some amount you can commit to first, then if I get some other commitments and it adds up to the cost of a rear tire we can do that. If we can't purchase the whole tire maybe we can just donate. Rob said he was setting up a Paypal account so I will check on that.

Rob did get his PayPal account setup. The address to use is: rob@crotchrocket.tv. If we get the commitments to adopt a tire then we can give him our names and the CBR moniker and ask the donations we each make go to that.

This is about as grass roots a racing effort as you can get.

Oh, and the race date is a week from this Sunday:

"Shawn Higbee will race the CrotchRocket.tv E-B-R 1190RS at the Streets of Willow Springs in the Formula 1 class on Oct. 16.
We will be at the track the 14th and 15th working on the setup."

New job is a lot more physical than what I'm used to, so I'm sore a lot. : )
I'm fixing a wide array of machines and learning a bunch of new stuff.
I used to work under a microscope, last week I was working on a 30 year old crane - tracked, 60' boom.
Today I fabricated and installed a limit switch for an overhead trolley crane.

Surgery went well, vision is steadily clearing. VA Cheyenne is awesome.
I saw 20/20 with a grating over my eye, before was 20/110.
I'm pretty stoked.

Boss/neighbor and I have been riding my Buells in to work as Summer leaves.
He's been riding the Uly, its luggage lets me ride Loretta with no bags...

Lawana and I went to Cheyenne in the Camaro, Chris(boss) rode the Uly as his truck is still in the shop.

wow, I should hit refresh more often.
Nice stuff Jody, I can pitch in a little too.

Z

Glad to hear the surgery went well, had my eyes done (corrective for vision) years ago and know how freaky it is, and how awesome when you heal up and don't need lenses.

Alright Zack! You'll be 20/20 in no time. Glad to hear you're getting a kick out of the job.

To help out the CrotchRocket.TV racing fund we can each donate directly to Rob's PayPal account and make a note we are with the CBR group. If we give enough to "buy" a tire than he can send us something goofy like a before and after picture, otherwise we are still helping out. He has said he will try to come up with some swag to give back to all contributors.

If you haven't already learned about it, the CrotchRocket.tv 1190rs and Shawn Higbee won the formula 1 race at the Streets of Willow. In a recap article on Roadracing World(near the bottom) it was mentioned how much support was given by BadWeb members like you to make it happen!

Did a ride over Squaw Pass today. Snow along the road up higher. At least a foot or more deep. Was cold too! Put a new o2 sensor in the bike and wanted to see how it ran up high and coming back down. Had problems with the original one not adjusting the AFV when I got back to lower altitudes. Solved the problem and the Bike ran better than new. AFV was 100% when I got home. Perfect!

Hey John, Dan and I took today off and also went up Squaw Pass. We started out by taking the back way to Deckers, then up Horsepower Hill. We ended up doing Golden Gate canyon then home. Just over 200 miles. What a nice day.

AND SNOW ON WEDNESDAY!!!! Augh, this is Colorado.

I kept hoping my stator would go out as the warranty is up any day now. And glad your bike is running like new again.

Hey all... I got an email today from Dave Kaminen's wife regarding a crash Dave had yesterday. Here is the message:

Hi Everyone, I thought I would send you an email to let you know that Dave got in a motorcycle accident yesterday while going to work. We think he swirved to miss something in the road and he was thrown from the bike. Fortunately, some of his co-workers were on their way into work and found him on the side of the road and were able to call for help. He slide onto to the side of the road on his belly and was unconscious when they found him. I was able to get there quickly and to see him off in the ambulance. We were in the ER until 10pm last night, until he was transferred to room.

He has some bruises on his right hand, knees and a broken pinky finger on his left hand. He also broke his orbital bone (cheek bone) and he has a concussion and a contusion on the front part of his brain. He will probably be in the hospital for a couple more days depending on how his other CTscan goes today and his work with the speech and physical therapists. He doesn't remember anything about what happened and why he is here, so there have been lots of repeat questions. He is getting better with starting to remember the month and year, so that is a positive sign.

If you would like to come by and visit him or give him a call, he is at University Hospital on Colfax and Peoria in Aurora. The phone number is 720-848-5728, room 934. I am sure he would love to see or hear from you.

I will do my best to keep you updated on his progress. Please keep him in your prayers.

Greg Kremer went to see him today and said he's doing well. There are photos of him on Facebook and of his helmet.

I thought some of you might want to send him a get well message.

CJ
