No desire to join hordes of harleys. I suspect all the roads around populated tourist spots will be busy with processions of cars and bikes. Taos, Red River, and Angel Fire are the last places I want to be this weekend.

I believe the plan for Monday right now is to meet at Bad Ass Coffee in Bernalillo around 0745 or 0800. Then meet some people at Java Joe's in Santa Fe around 0900.

At least that is my plan.

Re: the ride...

I have Sat and Sun free but Monday is not good for me...

I would rather do a long day-ride on Sat/Sun instead of the day before a work day. I will probably go somewhere - probably south. I was just up North two weekends ago.

BTW: the Ojo Caliente Restaurant is decent and not too pricey.

On Memorial Day, I usually go to a Memorial Day event to honor the fallen and that takes up half the day...

Well, I am getting pulled into work on Saturday, so that's out for me. Sunday, I'm the reader at church because I traded away last weekend. So, Monday is really the only day I can do anything. The only reason I was going to Chama is because it's not Red River and I've not yet been able to do TA/TP this season.

Luis says he has to work on Monday, but some of his peeps might still show up. I'm just not sure who. At a minimum, it'll be me, Ed, Adam. My buddy Trevor may bring his Victory, but we'll see. He's pretty slow.

I'm going to go camping on my bike in a couple of weeks. First time for that. Looking forward to it.

OK, so as Ed says... 0800 at Bad Ass Coffee on 550 in Bernalillo across from the casino (sorta). Sounds like it's just Ed, Adam, and I. So, that'll make it easier on the girlfriend since we can stop as often as we like to stretch.

Russ, if you and your girlfriend want to go, let me know. Would be nice to get a few more folks on board.

Bartimus: Awesome, I'll kick you an email to coordinate.

Ghostrider: We spent all of yesterday (7AM to midnight) driving back from Idaho, or we totally would have been up for it. : )

It was a nice ride, a bit chilly along 64, but overall, not a bad day. We got home around 6:00 which made it nearly a 12 hour day for us since we left our house around 6:30am yesterday to get to Bernalillo and fill up gas/ eat breakfast. I'm a bit tired and sore (yes, I know I am out of shape.) but I think I can manage. I will post up some of the pics later tonight when I get a chance to load them up at home.

I've been waiting since before last track day for them! and now that they are here, I would kinda like to get them on before Sunday. I had to go out and buy more tools yesterday to do the install...I only got half way done due to having to drill holes in the new bars, then I lost day light.

but for your info... Moto-Foto said he'd be in Turn 5 this weekend. hopefully we wont get rained on.

I got one quote from a website, fairly decent prices. I sent them an image of the patch, and this is what I got in return.

I dont know of anyone locally who does patches...

The premier place in town is: http://ziagraphics.com/emb.htm

There were no prices for embroidery or patches on line - they will need to be contacted.

Well, once we determine where the best quality and deal is, we'd need to know how many people would kick in for them and how much. I would definitely be interested in contributing.

I'm up for four patches and a shirt of some kind. In fact, I prefer a golf type shirt or a long sleeve shirt over a plain t-shirt. I have way too many t-shirts. Once they have their set-up fees they usually embroider the emblem on anything you are willing to buy.

I'm interested in a polo shirt or three.

And a sticker or four. I've got some track rash to cover on my fairings.

Also, glad we hit Alpine when we did... 191 is closed now with the fire that's smoking out Albuquerque.

I would more than likely be up for a couple polos, t-shirts, hats, secret decoder rings, etc.

-Syonyk- speaking of track rash, I wrecked yesterday coming out of turn 5 AKA the double apex. rear tire came out from under me in the middle of the turn.....I too will need some stickers ; )

Not too much actually. It will need a new footpeg (actually just the spring that holds it down), rear brake pedal, and bar end slider. other than that it is mostly just the plastics (was getting race plastics for it soon anyway.)

Oh, that doesn't look too bad. Still sucks...

I'm debating just skipping track days this summer and putting touring-esque tires on the 1125R. I still don't have a hitch/trailer, and am busy trying to get clear of debt/save up for some other stuff... and Q2s go quickly at 1300 miles/month average. I'm thinking about putting Road 3CTs for this summer on and just doing track days next summer. Cheap though they are, they add up quickly...

I may be taking the next month or 2 off from track riding to save up for a few fixes... I need to have leathers re-sewn as they came apart at the seem on the right leg. I also need new gloves as the asphalt chewed through the palm of my left glove and gave me a decent sized blister. I have another set of street plastics...in a different color, but like I said, I have been wanting race plastics, so now may be a good time to go ahead and get them.

Adam, would a frame slider have saved you some of that damage? Particularly to the cases?

Russ, what are you doing with your XB9S? I thought that was your commuter bike? Or do you think you'll track that?

Well, the XB9 is sort of in flux right now.

I was planning to track it, but at the last track day with it, I wore through the front oil lines. Murrae up at SF thinks it's just due to the bike being sprung light - I'm 250lbs in leathers, and the wheel seems to rub at full compression. It's odd... nobody else seems to have noticed this, and it may be just a quirk of the Q2s, but I'm hesitant to track it until I get this resolved.

It's also been my winter bike, since the 1125 looks at me and says "NO!" below about 15F. The XB9, sub-zero, shrugs and lights off.

However, it may get turned into a low soon. My gf has about 2k miles on the Blast, and is getting rather annoyed at it's lack of power. We've got a low seat on order, she's looking at thicker boots, and we may drop the suspension a bit with the SCG parts to make it something she can comfortably ride.

So... yeah. In flux. And not really trackable until I resolve the rubbing issue. Ideas are welcome on that one...

I've mostly been commuting on the 1125 now that it's warm enough for it to be happy.

frame sliders probably would have helped... the odd thing with the CBR is that for this model you HAVE to cut holes in the plastics to install frame sliders and I didnt want to do that...I do now, and may if I can afford, but oh well.

I bought the bike with scrapes on the cases as I had planned on strictly using it as a track bike and really didnt care about it being pretty...just functional. I think the damage is bad enough now to replace that, but they are about $150 new.

The other damaged parts came to another $150 to replace not counting the plastics which I can find for about $300. So, that is at least $600 to get the bike back in shape. then I still need to price the repairs for the leathers, and get a new set of gloves. I will be skipping the next track day, but should return to the track in August. Gives me 11 weeks to get everything purchased and installed.
