I should have saved it with a clear background instead of that white... oh well...

Awesome!

... now who's going to make some decals with that? I've got some trackday rash I wouldn't mind covering.

New logo looks great. +1 on the decals. Can someone get patches made?
Theres only one place here that does that and he's way over priced.

I can edit it and remove the background, I just didn't want to go mucking around with things in case if it was how you want it. While I'm in there, do you want me to make the lightning bolt and text clear too or leave them white?

Also, I cleaned up the top and moved the old archives into the archives folder. Looks like nobody has done anything for you guys in like 4 years!

Thanks Froggy... We are kind of like the bastard step children of the board apparently. I believe that the text and lightening bolt are to remain white, just the background deletion would be nice. Thanks again.

I can look into patches and decals, but wont be able to really for the next few weeks. Finals are just ahead and I have a lot of studying and papers to write. after that I will have a few weeks of calm where I can look into some of that stuff. If anyone else has the free time right now, let me know I will send you a higher res copy of the image to use for the vendors.

I did some light cleaning up on it too to remove some of the artifacting when it was compressed into a jpeg before. I didn't touch the red, as I wasn't sure if it had a bit of a raised look or not.

Thanks looks good! The red I think was flat, and if it looked raised, it was probably due to the black outlining...

Anybody interested in a Buell XB Uly rear wheel?? Its the "titanium" color...very good condition. Needs a brake rotor and sprocket. Let me know if you are interested. Price is negotiable. These go for about $400 new. This is a good chance for Uly owners to have a spare...

Correction... "MAGNESIUM" color...

Two Weeks until Springfast is history...

3 day ride, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

Friday, 13May: 0900 hrs-Meet at the Flying J truck stop, south of I-40 and 98th ST. There is a Dennys there, if anyone is hungry. KSU at 0930 hrs. I-40 west to Grants, turn south on 117 to Quemado. We can stop here for lunch if the group is hungry. Continue on US60 to Springerville/Eagar, there is a Safeway we can stock up on supplies if needed. Continue south on HWY191 to Alpine and check in at the Tal wi wi Lodge. Lodge info: 928-339-4319 A block of 8 rooms are saved for us, $80 a night, two double beds, or one king. Free wifi, Restaurant, 4 miles from Alpine, AZ. Tell them you are with the "SPRINGFAST" group. http://www.talwiwilodge.com/index.html

Saturday, 14May: 0800 hrs- Meet at the cafe in Alpine, AZ for breakfast and riders meeting. Depending on the riders, I tend to break the group up into smaller groups. This lets the "fast" riders lead off, and stay in front. Most riders can ride in the second group, and we will have a sweep rider, at the back of the pack. There is very little traffic along 191, it will more than likely be just us. KSU at 0900 hrs. Ride south down HWY191, stop at Hannagins Meadows for photos, then continue on. I expect we will stop a few times as there are overlooks, and spectacular views, plenty of photo ops! Lunch in Morienci at a local cafe, good grub, and friendly folks. Head back up HWY191, we can stop at the open pit copper mine if anyone wants photo's, it is HUGE... Once again, we can stop along the way and take breaks, there are numerous overlooks, and picnic areas between Alpine, and Morienci. Saturday evening, dinner at the Tal wi wi restaurant, and social hour...

Sunday, 15May- meet at the cafe in Alpine, AZ around 0830 hrs. KSU sometime before 1000 hrs. bid farewell to our Arizona riders, and head back to 'Querque. if we didn't stop at any of the scenic views on the way down, we can stop on the way home... Stopping for lunch in Quemado is again, an option. The weather changes in a minute so make sure you pack warm gear, and rain gear if you have it. I've even seen hail in the middle of August up there. ; ) Any questions, feel free to contact me: Buelligan63@gmail.com I look forward to meeting and riding with you...

Sorry Bart, I have a final exam that Friday at UNM and have to attend. It looks like a fun ride!

For those of you who didn't go to the track this weekend, be glad you didn't...it was a bit cold. They ended up canceling the track day as 2 people went down in the expert group the first round out there. Well, one was Troy who was doing a test lap before everyone and went down in the hairpin I believe. and then Tracy went down as well... or at least he was pushing his dual purpose bike off the track.

Then, a gust of wind blew the air fence over the cement barriers once the experts got off the track. most of the people out there were wearing jackets/ sweatshirts over their leathers on the track. They refunded everyone their tickets, and I am assuming we will all be out there on the 21st.

That sucks... I'm waiting for it to warm up a bit more before track days. Track days on cold pavement in the wind just don't sound fun.

Bartimus: That looks like a stunning ride. I'll check with my gf, but I'm not sure I can pull taking that Friday off... We *might* be in, but I doubt it.

Actually, I have more vacation than I thought.

Hm...

How would a Blast do on the ride with a competent but fairly new rider?

The Blast would do fine. One of the riders from Phoenix rode her Blast on this ride a couple of years ago. She now has a kawa, and will be on that.
There will be at least 3 women attending, all have a couple of years experience, but still consider themselves novices. One will probably ride up to Alpine and back, but will probably ride on the back of her boyfriends bike on 191.
My Debbie wants to ride on the back of mine, but if two other women are riding it on their bikes, she probably can be pursueded to ride hers. I know Lynn from Colorado will ride hers, she's a trooper and will give it a go.
191 is a technical road, but even a rookie can do it with a little common sense, and a level head.
She should have no problem as long as she rides within her abilities.
This ride is as much a social event as it is a riding event.

Lynn and I are looking forward to the ride. We will be riding down on thursday and will stay with Bart. Lynn will be on her XB12scg and I will be on my S2T. We are not speed demons by any means and this ride is significant for us. To tell you the truth I may be fighting just to get down there. There is a chance we (I) will not be able to ride but we will drive down if needed just to hang out with the AZ and NM groups.

I will post a link before we leave so you all can track our progress, it will be spotty but should work ok.

I am hoping Lynn and I can take up the rear since even though I have been riding for about 35 years I feel like a new rider from my last ride around here. Lynn and I use sena smh10 Bluetooth so we can chat and pull over for anyone that needs help. I ride a tuber, I carry tools. However with all that said we do what mr Bart tells us to do. We are looking forward to it.

I'm booked at the lodge for the nights of the 13th and 14th. I also have an extra double bed should someone want to share the room.

Since I have had tremendous bad luck with stators on my 1125CR I will be coming down with it in the back of my pickup, just in case!!! My butt will thank me for sparing it the long ride just to get down there. That, of course, makes for more fun when riding on 191.

I think it would be grand to have more women than men riders.

Alright, talked with my gf, we're in!

I've got reservations at the hotel.

She'll be bringing her Blast, I'll probably have my 1125R. It's an 08, so hopefully no stator issues. ; ) You should look into getting that thing rewound... more expensive than warranty, cheaper than tows. IMO.

Ah, awesome. Sounds like plenty of women, then!

We both have SMH10s as well and can relink them as needed.

I'll probably join the quicker group, but sounds like she'll be in good company in the second group!

Frank, I read Kim's email, glad to hear they are going to make it. How have you been feeling? Are you hanging in there?
Girl Power should be this years theme, LOL.
So, all you Colorado folks are welcome to overnight at my place, I only have two beds, but I do have plenty of floor space, and one air mattress. ; )
I still haven't made up my mind what I'm riding yet. I just converted my CR to an R, and I'm not sure I like that low, stretched riding position. I may see if I can fit the high bars back on it.
Or, I can ride the ST. I just took it to Phoenix and back. Wicked cross winds, and about 30 miles of snow just as I was getting back into 'Querque, it performed great. The S2 is still out in Phoenix.
Jody, how many times has your stator failed?
Frank, you crack me up! "I ride a tuber, I carry tools". hehe, "I ride an '09 1125, I carry stators".

I look forward to seeing everyone, looks like it's going to be a great time up in the mountains this year!

Bart, three times the stator has failed on me now. Only once was I close enough to home not to get stranded. When this one fails I will get it rewound rather than replaced under warranty.

If you have floor space at your place that is good enough for me.

Syonyk, J2Blue,
I've read and been told that the 2009 bikes had the stator issues - not the 2008. ...or is it bad luck with your 2008 bikes? I also read that all replacements are the 2009-2010 type parts and therefore more prone to failure. You may be better off replacing it with a 2008 stator instead of the newer (but not better) stator. Just a thought...

Also, beware of bad regulators that strain the electrical system...another problem found in some bikes.

So far so good on my 2008 stator. Knock on wood, etc...

Oh, I have a 2008 and no issues - I was just giving him crap about the stator.

The solutions seem to be:
- 2008 charging system - stator & rotor
- Aftermarket rewind of the stator
- Keep letting it be replaced under warranty

I haven't had any issues on my '08 1125 in regards to the stator either...I have had issues with my stupid clutch cover. is there a "fix" for the clutch weep? I still need to get mine checked out. Last time I took it up they didn't have the part, but said they would order it. I haven't made an appointment

There's an upgraded clutch cover & internals that supposedly fix it - I think it's "Rev C" or so.

I got mine fixed, just kinda sorta had to pay for a good bit of it due to lowsiding. : )

Realllllly need to get those case savers...

It isn't the cover that fixes it, it is a new piston and seals. Part number X2086.1AM. It fits your bike regardless if you have the original or large puck clutch cover.
