It finally warmed up once I got into TX. I'm up at the top, on I-40, where it's narrow. I'm only 70 miles from New Mexico. I should be in ABQ (which I abbreviate because I can't spell it) by lunch.

Well I guess, since I signed the separation agreement with Bosch/BSH (required to collect the severance package) last night and took it into the local HR today I can finally spill the beans...

I'VE FOUND A NEW JOB!!!

I've accepted a Process Engineer position - dealing with plasma cutting - with ESAB Welding and Cutting in Florence, SC. http://www.esabna.com/
In addition to the increase in pay mentioned below, a sweet 401-k plan (ESAB puts in 4% AND matches employee contributions up to 4%), a 'complete' relocation package (everything but buying my current house from me, but all I need to do is accept an offer...), I negotiated to have 3 weeks of vacation from the get go.

My start date is listed as 'on or before April 18th'. This means that I will be moving soon and as soon as the *bless their hearts* relocation company gets their crap together my house just outside of New Bern, as Char referred to it as 'the Brankin Palace', will be on the market. Even though the position with ESAB comes with an increase in salary of over 8%, most likely I will not be able to buy a house around Florence until my house in Ernul sells. So if you know anyone that is looking for the ultimate Gearhead/Bachelor Pad around the New Bern area, PLEASE send them my way.

This move will put me closer to quite a few C3 members (U4euh, Rubberdown and Spectrum to name a few), while it will take me further away from some, and will keep me about the same distance from others. Fortunately the distance to Ray Price is roughly the same from Florence as it is from New Bern as I'd really like to see my XT again sometime...but that is a topic for another time - and over some frosty adult beverages. However Florence is only a little over 3 hours from New Bern, so it's not like I will be a world away. I will probably need to come back somewhat regularly on weekends to take care of things with the house until it sells.

Jim and Tonya are definitely in my thoughts and I hope that a nursed back to full health Jim and I will be tearing up the roads around Jackson Springs in the very near future.

Good thing we didn't distinguish C3 as North Carolina only as I can still be a Carolina Corner Carver once I move to South Carolina, right?
