Where is this ride? Do you have a link? I missed the rally a few weeks ago, but would like to add my bike to this ride if I can make it.

I am up in Noblesville, just off Exit 10 on I-69. It would be way quicker for you to meet at my house, seeing as how I am only 15-minutes away from there. I'll check with my wife to see if I can attend. I don't get much "bike time" since I just came off the GP weekend.

I did find some info here:

Yeah, wife shot it down pretty fast. Bummer. I'll be there in spirit at least.

I am really anxious for a just outcome of this whole thing. I know that no "punishment" can make up for the loss of three lives (one dead, two changed forever), but a message needs to be sent to others saying motorcyclists are more than just domesticated animals. Society is constantly showing that hitting a motorcyclist is akin to hitting the neighbors dog, and that needs to change.

Glad you could make it. I read there were 2500 bikes? Sounds like me may need to do an Indy Buellers get-together sometime.

Greetings from a new Southern IN Bueller. I am the happy owner of an '06 Uly with 15k on the clock.

I made it to the Moto GP last month and had a blast riding my bike on the track. I saw several other badwebbers, but I believe they were from out of state.

Just checking in,
Joe

I think my brother and a friend may make a lap around the very southern part of the state Sunday.

Should be a Uly, Lightning long, and Firebolt. Representing Buell proudly. Probably ride over to Huntingburg to a killer taco place for lunch, then ride over to tell city and hit all the decent roads on this end of the state.

Let me know if you are interested.

if you don't know the area well, i can set you up with some good routes that keep you off of the less interesting roads down south. the area south and east of huntingburg down around the river has some fun stuff. i live in bloomington and go down there frequently, usually knocking off 250-300 miles. cell is 812 361 5775

Hello everyone. I hope that people still check this page. I just moved back to Indy after a few years of living in TX and GA. My XB12s is having some engine problems. I am hoping that it just needs new spark plugs. But I can't do that by myself. I don't really want to take my bike to a Harley shop, as their labor rates are typically ridiculously high. Does anyone have a shop they typically turn to for work? I live on the southside close to 37 and Banta. If anyone could help me out it would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks, Chris

ALWAYS CHECK THE KNOWLEDGE VAULT !!!
most problems that you will have are addressed there. no reason not to change your own plugs (and lots of other stuff, too) with factory service and parts manuals and this forum. it has helped me a lot in the garage. there may even be someone near you in BRAN. willing to help....

Chris, I am in Noblesville, north side of Indy. I changed the plugs on my XB9R just last year. It really isn't hard, you just have to follow the directions outlined on the board. It helps to have some wiggle extensions. If you are leary doing it on your own, maybe we can set up a time to work on it together? If you have a truck or trailer, my place works, since all my tools are here. If not, I can pack it all up and stop by your place sometime. Shoot me a PM and we can talk.

Well I gave in and took my bike to ss hd. Turns out my header was cracked at the o2 sensor. They are replacing it, but called to tell me I needed a new drive belt. Told them to hold hold on it. I don't think it should be too hard to change that. Found the belt for 175, sshd wants to charge 250 for the belt and labor. ridiculous!!! Anyone done it?

Also I'm hoping to get out later this week...... Anyone else gonna go out?

Replacing the belt is easier than removing the back wheel.
1. Get the rear wheel off the ground
2. Remove right footpeg bracket
3. Loosen the chin fairing and take off the sprocket cover
4. Loosen axle pinch bolt
5. Loosen the rear Axle 15 turns or so.
6. Remove the idler pulley (not necessary, but easier)
7. Remove swingarm brace
8. Slide off old belt, slide on new
9. Repeat in reverse

I replaced mine last season after it snapped on me. I got a new one from a board member for $100. Ask around, lots of people bought spare belts and never used them.

Well I called sshd a few min ago....the guy told me he thought they already replaced the belt....but are waiting on the idler pulley... is it really neccessary to replace that when the belt is replaced???!!! It seems kind of ridiculous to replace it to me!!! Gah this is why I don't like Harley dealerships!!!!

The manual recommends replacing the idler when you replace the belt. It also says to check the runout, and if it is ok then there is no need to replace. I think Buell wanted to make sure you check the bearings every now and then.

I would be pissed if they went off and did work that I hadn't authorized. Car dealerships can get in big trouble for doing that. Just one more reason to avoid HD dealerships altogether.

Has anyone in this group reset static timing? I've been trying to use ECMSpy to assist me, and all I am getting is LOTS of fuel pump priming, no matter where the timing mark is. And, when I did get a transition from 0 to 5V, the timing mark was past the right edge of the window. Would the bike run if the timing was that far off? At an rate, if anyone has done it before, I would love to hear your advice. Otherwise, I may be looking for a local small shop that can adjust "harley" timing.
