Looks like a last minute go! Don't know if we can make the whole ride,but we should be at the shop by 9:30 or 10.Man,I need this ride! |

I got too beat up today from the heat to try and make it out, if I am to show up, I will leave my house at the asscrack of dawn to get to Toona's. |

I'm going to make a weather related judgement call and push everything back an hour for tomorrow's ride.
Tom and Joe's - 9:00 for breakfast
My Shop 11:00 for the Res Ride - short loop
My Shop 1:00 (or so) my shop for the long ride ending at Clem's for BBQ
The Sunday ride to the Flight 93 Memorial to be determined by those that want to ride on Sunday. We will discuss departure time at my shop tomorrow. |

Good to see everyone again!
I had a great time and I think everyone else did as well. We racked up almost 200 local miles. I don't think we repeated but maybe 5 of them in the same direction the entire day.
Tom and Joe's: Great as always
Corner Carving: Great as always
Clem's BBQ: Great as always
Meadows Frozen Custard: Great as always
Riding all day with a bunch of fellow Buellers: PRICELESS!!!!!

Meet at the Altoona Motel 6 at 9:30
Meeting up with NittanyXT and his group at the gas station across from Pristows/McCoys Kubota Dealership outside of Roaring Spring on Route 36 at 10:00. Arrival in Shanksville, PA around 11:30ish

Just got home. What a great weekend. 1,200 miles for the BETTER THAN NEW Uly. Thank you Dan and everyone else for the help with the tps reset and tricky new armor for the ecm. 
As always, great to see everyone.
I still have to digest all that happened this weekend. I'll post up tomorrow with a report on the races! |

My trip odometer says 1200 miles for the weekend. But I still have all day today to rack up some more.
I had a great ride heading out there from southern Connecticut. A perfect weather friday morning with no traffic. Apparently, there were severe thunderstorms thursday night in Sullivan county, N.Y. and northeast Pennsylvania, closing roads due to fallen trees. For me, this meant detours through some of the most beautiful backroads the northeast has to offer. Just miles and miles of twisty mountain roads that I never would have found otherwise. Makes for a great day. I hope I can find them again.
I made my way to central Pa., and the sky got scary dark, so I hopped on I-99 for the last 35 miles to Altoona. Thats when it started raining BUCKETS, with thunder and lightning to go along with it. I just powered through. At this point, I was having such a great day, this just seemed like fun.
Get to the hotel, start drying out gear, and I hear that V-twin rumble outside... in the rain. Open the door, it's Toona and (dang I forgot your name sorry). Just came by to check up on anyone who might be hanging out. After a quick visit, I hit the sack exhausted.
Here's the weird part. Next morning, I find a guy in the parking lot with a dirtbike on his truck, so we started to chat a bit. Turns out, there's a national event nearby on sunday,and he's a 52 year old privateer racer (Glen Shedd) running in the GNCC national circuit ranked 7th in the country. Now, this guy comes across like a total wildman. When he talks about racing, you can see the fire in his eye. Just my kind of guy. He's out here all alone, on his own dime, with no one to help him. So I offer to help him pit, and he got really excited and accepted my offer. I even offered to share my room with him for the night seeing it was already paid for, and there was another bed that wasn't being used. He accepted that offer as well. So we planned on meeting up after I got back from the Res Ride (and Meadows run ) Great time, by the way.
So, after the Res ride, I get back to the hotel and find Glen. He gives me the details (this guy can talk) of the next days events, what I'm supposed to do, where we're pitting, etc... We hit the sack and get up early sunday to go racing.
Turns out, he's not running in an over 50 class or anything, he's running in 200c 16+, which means he's running against teenagers! (I told you he's a wildman) Glen had a good run. Wrecked on the last lap, smashing in his exhaust, not to mention bruising his knee and shoulder pretty good. No DNF and still came in 7th. Not too bad.
It was fun to watch the other racers interact with Glen in the pits. He's a really fun guy, and works really hard to be the best rider he can be, and everyone seems to respect him for it. He makes a point to shake hands and get to know all the competitors, offering words of encouragement. The crowd seemed to enjoy cheering him on as well.
I've never been to a dirtbike race, and thanks to Glen, I wasn't just a spectator, I was actually involved. Great experience, I hope I get to do it again.
As for the Res Ride, I always have an excellent time, this time was no exception. If you've never been out to central Pa. You're missing out on some great riding, great food, and great |

It was a last minute decision for me and when I left home I planned on just doing the first loop and then heading home. But, I was having way too much fun riding with everyone that I joined the ride to Clem's also. After very late lunch and lots of bench racing, Dan pointed me in the right direction and I intended to take 99 south to 22 and pick up 422 in Ebensburg. But couldn't resist hopping off onto 865 in Bellwood and then I just ran a bunch of backroads home.
Thanks Dan for putting on another great Res Ride - great time as we've come to expect and it was great to see everyone again. This is my third and the first "all buell, all the time" one.
I just hooked up ECMSpy and Dano's side-of-the-road diagnosis of my CEL was spot on! No current trouble codes but two historic active muffler control codes (code 21). |

Ulynut do you know if the race will be televised?
Got home safe, just a little later than planned thanks to several groups of Harley parades and pickups towing huge trailers. |

And for the record, neither Jon nor Jesse are "older farts". More like young bucks. All the "older farts" quit riding a long time ago.
As they say, there may be snow on the roof, but theres still a fire in the furnace. |
