We're finally back from our extended Buelltoberfest vacation. I put 945 miles on the Uly from the time I unloaded it at Copperhead until I re-loaded it this morning. I actually got TIRED of riding twisties at one point! (I got over it quick.)

Man, I wish it weren't 325 miles to North Georgia...

Oh yea, BTW- I am no longer an 1125CR owner. Bike was sold to Not_purple_S2 at Buelltoberfest. He picked it up Saturday morning; I saw him Saturday evening about 7 PM after he'd ridden it all day. He seemed VERY happy with his purchase.

Going to ride to Asheville tomorrow (Saturday) for lunch at the Moose Cafe. Meeting there at 11:00 to join some Kawasaki riders. Will be the first trip on the bike since the trip to Tomah Wisconsin in July and since breaking my arm later in July. I'm excited!!
I really wanted to make Buelltoberfest but Doc wouldn't hear of it. And I didn't feel healed enough to be confident to ride the distance.

Hey Donald- Sorry about your arm; somehow I missed that. Glad you are doing better.

There are lots of great roads around Asheville. Hop off I-26 north of Spartanburg on the way up at Landrum, SC and take 176 up through Tryon and Saluda, NC. There are some great twisties south of Saluda. BTW- Saluda is the site of the steepest mainline railroad grade in the U.S. although unfortunately it has been out of service for the past several years. If you want, you can follow the railroad grade by taking Pearson Falls Road south out of Saluda. It's a gravel road, but it's a neat ride down the mountain. When you hit the paved road at the bottom, you'll come back to 176 in a short distance and you can head back up to Saluda again.

A little east and south of Asheville, highway 9 up from Bat Cave to Black Mountain is a great road.

I'm sure there are LOTS of others in the area I don't know about. Have a great trip.

Tech-day, Saturday 9 at least 'til Noon, at my place in Greer. http://goo.gl/maps/mO65
Jack, who bought my XB, will visit my place Saturday to do oils change.
Posted on local riders board, too.

Asheville rides: go toward Hot Springs for good roads, and the Parkway is right there. North on Parkway a few miles to mountain crafts museum/store. Interesting art/craft work and frequently good music live 'round this time of year.

Best wishes.

In case anyone's interested, American Biker near Summerville is offering Triumph demo rides this weekend. You apparently have to register before-hand through Triumph's website. More info here:

http://www.americanbiker.biz/media-gallery/detail/ 136/341
BTW- bikini bike wash as well, not that any of you would be interested in anything like that.

Super! Check Check Check, When do we go for another ride? MSgt Sherman hooked me up yesterday, so a big thanks goes out to him! I enjoyed the ride with him back to Sumter from TTHD. I'm currently riding a 2007 1125R that I'm restoring from a wrecked repo...

We're pretty erratic with our get-togethers. We had a ride up to Caesar's Head this summer- which weirdly turned out to be almost cold. If you've got any ideas for a ride, speak up. Maybe we can have one before the weather gets too cold.

Wow this place is quiet. I had a nice ride with a couple of Buellers on Sunday. Cornel (Buelltours) came to town to pick up a 2007 Uly (the orange one) he'd won on ebay. His friend Chris came along on the beautiful 2002 S3T and we rode down to Edisto Beach for lunch:

It was a great day for a ride.

BTW- if anyone's still in the market for a Ulysses, Thunder Tower's website says they have four 2009 XB12XP's in stock. These bikes are NOT shown on the "bike finder" at buell.com. Someone in another thread suggested they may be used, but the website says all have less than 10 miles on the clock.

Just passing the info along...

Any group rides upcoming? We never had any in Maine where I was, so I was hoping for something down here.

On a side note, any of you Charleston area guys good at carb tuning? There's a shop that just opened up Saturday on Dorchester Rd that I'll be checking out soon.
http://www.diymotorsports.com/movies.html

I'm finishing up the Sportster (been saying that for a while, but will be rideable by the end of Jan), and with the dual Ducati cans on it, it keeps backfiring on me like crazy. Figured I'd rent the motorcycle dyno there for a day and try to tune it better. Maybe we could combine it into a group dyno day if it worked for everyone?

Let me know what ya think. I'd probably be looking at the early Feb timeframe.

I'm going to swing in there at some point by the end of the month when I can find time, and I'll find out for sure. I would assume so, but we know what that means.

If they can't sniff the exhaust, I'll be more or less shooting in the dark anyway. I didn't weld in bungs, although I may pick up a pair and install before then.

Hey Buellers. Sorry I have been such a ghost lately. Been really busy with graduating, getting married, taking the bar exam, and getting my new career kicked off. I am just now finally getting my head to stop spinning.

Anyhow, I just wanted to let you know I am now practicing law in Moncks Corner and trying to specialize in motorcyclist personal injury. I am not limited to personal injury, so if you need any kind of legal help please feel free to contact me. I would love to help you in any way possible. You all be safe and keep it rubber side down, but if you don't... well you know where that was going.

Most of you have my contact info. If not, you can reach me at erycriddle@gmail.com
