Psst Jerry...yes you are taking it the wrong way.
trying some sort of incentive to get folks to post a little more. Perhaps plan a few rides as well. So far aside from a cold breakout ride & a wildcat mtn trip that to date has received less than enthusiastic response, havent heard much else for rides planned.

Bill,
The trick to doing that trip in the Miyata will be lots of stops along the way and enough time to not have to rush things.
Look at San Clemente, Dana Point, Laguna Beach (if she doesn't mind a varied clientel) and San Juan Capistrano. She might do well in the right specific neighborhood around but not in Fashion Island in the Newport Beach area. I used to go to lots of rummage sales around there and from what I recall it could be a good place for her, but only if she finds the right specific neighborhood. Parking and store access seem to be more important than actual location, too much hassle and the customers will go elsewhere. I have no idea what this has to do with Buells and BRAG so I'll meander off to another topic now. ; )

Jerry, or CJ, or anyone else in the know,
Is a copy of the newsletter posted on one of the bulletin boards at Hal's? Would be nice to see a copy of one sometime. Of course I could renew my BRAG membership and re-join the club and get one that way too I guess, we'll see.

Are you doing the Arts bicycle ride this weekend? And if so what route? If you go north I'll probably be at the new W&S store location helping out some. This is turning into a strange summer as far as events and things go.

Doughnut,
remove the speedometer cable housing from the front wheel and see what you find. Do not keep riding the S2 without doing this. Ensure the end of the cable protrudes from the housing some, and if it doesn't then you'll find the broken bit still stuffed inside the wheel speedometer drive assembly. And lube the cable often, or at least annually.

I haven't worn Speedo's since high school swim team, which the world is probably thankful for. : )

I'd like to see the newsletter! As long as I can steal ideas for our from you.
Someone bring a copy to one of the rally events please. I'm not coming to Hal's tomorrow, heading right to Sauk from Appleton.

How about some rides for our 2 clubs to meet in the Kettle?

Daves -- if ya like, I'll emailo you the template I've used for newsletters in the past . . . .nuthin magic, but it makes it easy as pie to drop works/pics into the file and print out . . . .

I got some great routes through the kettle/holy hill area . . . . . .you could prolly coax me into coming along with! {grin}

Dull knows I don't wear speedos

And why would he know ?? And why would he CARE !?? LOL

Because I am always trying to save the world and him in speedos is a serious threat to its stability.

See you folks at Hal's tomorrow.

Mike...FYI, Dana Point is my choice as I lived there for so many years both in a condo and on my boat berthed in the marina. Needless to say the combo of condo and sailboat is what I am striving for. Plus, between PCH and the Freeway, Di is right amongst her target market.

Good spoof on Laguna Beach. The old joke was "if you drop your wallet in Laguna Beach, kick it all the way to Dana Point before you pick it up." LOL

Concerning the Brew City Newsletter, someone at Hal's sent me one in the mail and it is really nice. Will make a great recruiting and retention tool for the club.

On the humorous side, I suggest a little more proof reading. Don't care about the spelling but am still looking for the article on the reverse that addresses the recent track day. LOL

Congatulations Bill you get the prize for finding the "mistake". The prize will be announced later.

Mike,
We sent out a newsletter to everyone on last year's membership list, but we didn't have your new address from your move. Shoot it to me at home and we'll get you one. I believe I have an electronic copy around here somewhere or at work.

DaveS,
Will do. I can send you the electronic version. I believe I have a copy of it at work. I will be at Hal's tomorrow morning but not at Sauk. I'll try and send someone with a paper copy up for you.
A ride in the northern Kettle Moraine sounds good with the two clubs. Also, if you or anyone in your club is intersted we will be doing our Wildcat Mountain trip July 24th-25th. The best roads in the state and a great time to boot. We have decided to make it a multi-club ride to foster some good relations between all of the clubs in Wisconsin and other locales. I'm not positive, but I'd say we have the greatest concentraion of BRAG groups in this area. So why not get everyone together more often. I will be posting info to others in the near future.

Jerry

P.S. Less than enthusiastic response on Badweb. There are plenty of people that are not on Badweb.

Jerry...Keep the prize. That little whoops caused me to read every word a number of times just to find the hidden information. Just might try it myself at some point in the future to see if the readership is awake. LOL

Glad to see you are working with the other clubs for events. Also, your comment about the number of folks that are not on the BWB is spot on.

Quite often family and career responsibilities just make participation in extracurricular activities impossible which is one reason I always maintained that a newsletter via snail mail is your best communications tool given Brew City's membership.

Keep on generating the momentum!

The event email sent out anticipated 125 riders to possibly show up at Hal's this morning. Just curious what the count actually was, and curious about how many people have shown up and registered for the activities today, tomorrow, and Saturday.

I would guess attendance at 50-60ish, it look like most of them were registered. A few folks came and went because it was a self-guided ride to Sauk but it was enjoyable. I won first prize on the superbike video game, woo hoo.

Then I went to work. Booo!

Could have been a bunch more participants if they allowed daily passes for the locals.

Today was the ride I would have liked too have done. Well, more so the dinner at Buell tonight.

Tomorrow, Friday, will probably have the greatest attendance as it is Open to All due to it Being Uke's Open House.

How 'bout it Mike, can you squeeze in a ride to Uke's or is the time frame just too short for you?

I'll leave work at 11am and head down there, meet you at Milw-H-D if you want between 11:10-11:20?
I'll check back here in the morning.

Needless to say, after protesting the daily pass issue for so long, I would be a total hypocrite if I crashed the event. Sometimes it sucks to have principles, but I can't see screwing BRAG out of a days wage.

Thank God for Uke's scheduling their open house way before BRAG even considered the homecoming.

Are you bringing the X1 or the Cruiser?

3 2 1 time for me to go home.

Mike, That will work. Call me on my Cel if I am not there. 262-617-3999. I will either be enroute to MKE HD or lost in the Store. Most likely in the store. LOL

FYI, MKE HD has really improved now that the Ex-Harley Exec owns and operates it. Not to mention having Bill Davidson active in the HOG Chapter and other function isn't too shabby either.

Blastin, you should have my address. Let me know, I would like to see the news letter.

Got the speedo issue taken care of. It was just the cable.

Bill,
See you there. I'll be on the white bike since the black one decided to get a divorce from the WileyCo sometime either this morning or coming back from Appleton, caught it right at the separation decision prior to actual eviction.
(I wonder what trade-in value is on an M2 toward a rubberized XL?)

Doughnut,
Glad you got it taken care of.

See you around 11:00 at MKE HD.

Sounds good. I think I'll do a little price comparison shopping, see what each shops wants to swap a rear tire and a front engine isolator for the S2. Could be an interesting comparison.
