Hey guys, Dan and I put a bunch of stuff for sale in the "for sale" section of BW. Hope all are doing well.

We did a nice short ride today with my son and he had his girlfriend on the back of his bike. It was only is second time having two-up and he did real well.

My wife and I did a weekend in Denver this weekend and passed by some of your areas. Took US285 from Santa Fe all the way to Denver. Saturday, we took a drive out to Beaver Creek and got stuck in a traffic jam on the way back when an RV burned down just near the top of Vail pass. Saw lots of bikes, but only one Buell, a red CR. Nice time. Weather was really nice.

All, we just got back from the hospital. Lynn is OK but had an accident today. A truck pulled out in front of her and a microwave fell out and she was unable to completely miss it. She went down and I got the call from the emergency room.

She is bruised up pretty good and I am real happy she was wearing her gear. The helmet took a good scrapping up on the face shield and she has a hole in her jacket. The state trooper came by with the report and I already called the insurance agency. She was on the Sporty and I do not know what kind of damage was done to it yet. I will find out more tomorrow but it has been my experience that Sportys crash better than XBs.

Be careful out there everyone.

Frank

Sorry to hear that Frank...glad Lynn was not hurt too bad. I never fear for myself when riding...but I do fear for loved ones. I am passionate about motorcycles (specifically Buell's) but I sometime feel conflicted about encouraging my family members to ride...and the incident with Sean a couple years ago did not help.

I just heard this week of a guy that was part of the Battalion we replaced over here in Iraq...who was back home three days (after a year overseas) and died in a motorcycle accident. I didn't hear the details...and I did not know him personally..but it is sad.

Ride safe everyone.

Thanks Steve, you be safe over there as well and yes I have always feared that call as I am sure Lynn does when I go to work at O Dark Thirty.

The truck did not stop but later came back (probably because he realized he was missing something). The driver did not have a license and it seems that he is an immigrant (legal or not I do not know).

I am a little pissed at the whole deal.

Thanks all. We are both at home today and I just called work, my boss rides as well so he understands better than most. I am waiting for the insurance call. I assume they will tell me to take the bike to PPHD and from what the State Trooper told me I doubt it is totaled.

Lynn is in bed with her coffee, drugs, lap top, phone and kitties. Neither one of us slept well last night so I expect she will be in and out of sleep today,

Frank

Thanks Jim, she is drugged up in bed watching her soaps with her kitties.

It seems like I have been on the phone with the insurance all day. The bike is still locked up but I expect they will pick it up and take it to Pike Peak HD. I hate that shop but if I bring a Sporty in there they have a different attitude.

They are also going to pay for her helmet and jacket (that alone was 500 bucks) and she already picked out a new jacket.

We are hoping they also pay for her hospital stay but that is down the road a bit.

I doubt she will going back to work tomorrow.

Yikes!
Heal fast Lynn! Glad you fared as well as you did.

I am very leery of the stability of most loads I see on the road.
I hate being behind cement mixers, landscaping trucks, "moving"pickups full of junk, etc for that very reason.

Glad you're ok Lynn. This is exactly why Dan doesn't like me riding without him. He doesnt want to get that phone call from the ED.

Did anything get broken?

Luckly nothing is broke on me...just bilateral knee/contusions, a sprained rt wrist and shoulder....however I may have to get a MRI in a few weeks if my shoulder doesn't improve, because I could have torn something...hurts like #$@%....I haven't seen my bike yet, the insurance company is taking care of all that stuff.

Kristi and Court, thank you for the phone calls. They really lifted Lynn's spirits.

Some pictures of the bike:

It is actually not in too bad of shape.

And the bike next to it (I hope this rider is ok)

yes thank you so much everybody for the well wishes here on the bad web, facebook and the phone calls. I am really sad to see how my bike looks, however as everyone has said it really could have been much worse. Will go back to work for a day tomorrow and then have a long holiday weekend which I can rest some more. Frank will get my XB out tomorrow and then he is gone for the ralley in Georgia and then I am thinking the weekend after that if my Harley is'nt ready yet to at least get the XB out for a bit. I really need to get back on the "horse" as soon as possible.

I think the tank dent is the worst of it for your bike Lynn. Just dab a little bondo in there and spray gray primer on it and it'll be good as new. ; )

I'm glad you are feeling up to going into work today and that you are wanting to get back on the bike. That is very important to do. How is the shoulder today?

My shoulder is still really sore, however I was able to type and write in the charts and the normal stuff at work ok. Everybody was surprised I was back today....I think other than the brusing and soreness I am more emotionally beat up right now. I am upset because I don't remember all of what happened. Just my type A personality kicking in...hee hee!!

Hey Frank and Lynn,

Sorry to hear about your mishap Lynn, glad to see you're in one piece. We just found out now, haven't been on Badweb for a while. Julie said you two meet Bruce and his wife while you were camping last weekend. Small world! Frank give me a call sometime, so we can figure out the S2 awards.

Lynn, we hope you continue to heal with the help of Frank and your kitties.

Jeff & Julie

Yes we hung out with Bruce. Slowride (Michal) and a couple of his friends rode out from Texas so I met them down there and Bruce and his wife were camping next to them. He mentioned that he new an old Buell rider in Silverthorne and I knew that was Henry so that is how the conversation started.

Lynn is doing much better and is resting after of busy day of letting me test ride a Triumph GT in Lakewood.

We had to stop at High Country to get some parts and see Zac and Dave... It was a full day with a lot of traffic in Denver and Colorado Springs.

I lost your number Jeff as my phone got washed so give me a call when it is convenient for you.

Frank
