Larry,

To order your shirt call The Sign Shop Of Racine. Ask for Will Christman. Tell him you'd like to order a shirt. His number is 262-634-3000. The cut-off was today. I hope he can help you out. If not he will be at the Dinner placing orders for them. Sorry for the mishap.

Dana

Alright folks, I have my route planned and ready to go. Motels have been booked for both legs of the trip. Now it's simply a matter of time.

For anyone that will be traveling through the Chicago area, I have a friend that lives there who warns that I-57 and I-94 have major construction that will likely have huge delays. Be advised when planning your route!

Anyone headed from the MD/DC/VA/PA-ish area...Kim and I are planning to head out either Tuesday middday-ish if we ride, taking 2 days and hitting the Mackinac bridge...or heading out Weds if we haul. If anyone would care to join us, drop a PM and we can organize a meet-up.

Guess tonight I'll spend time with the Garmin : )

We're headed out early Wednesday . . . when you have a dog driving . . . well, you have to allow for the unknown.

Jack. . . the official Buell Super Dog . . will be attending once again. He's requested a special meal at Alpine Valley.

That's our plan, too. We're meeting up with Vern (Etennuly) and a couple others in Toledo, then headed towards the Mackinac Bridge. If we can pull it off, we'll go all the way to the south end of the bridge and stay the night, and do the bridge in the AM. Worst case...somewhere in MI for an overnight : )

With the event about to kick off, we neglected to mention a very important thing. Respect.
Yes, Homecoming is about bikes and having a great time.
We would like it to remain safe and sane.
PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!! Respect Homecoming 2010, Erik Buell Racing, the Village of East Troy, and Alpine Valley Resort by refraining from dangerous riding, burnouts, wheelies, stoppies, etc,etc..
We stand to lose more than we gain by acting stupid.
Local media will be involved in this event and the last thing we need is to make ourselves look bad and tarnish BUELL, past, present and future.
If you want to ride fast, do the track day or visit the drag strip.
We want everyone to return home safe with stories of a great time. NOT hurt or stories of a Hospital visit or massive fines.
Thanks.
Homecoming 2010 Staff

On a side note. When riding into Alpine Valley Resort, watch for sand on the driveway in spots

Actually NATiONAL and INTERNATIONAL media will be watching . . . this is about the be the largest event ever pulled off to celebrate a 10 person motorcycle company.

The is quite similar to when the Grinch tried to steal Christmas from the Whos down in Whosville but Christmas went right ahead and came anyway . . . . turned out it was in their heart.

Be certain that many from from Harley-Davidson will be watching as well.

Pretty amazing stuff really . . .

Don't forget today/tonight, June 17th, is Buell day at the HD Museum. A few different racing Buell's will be on display. i.e. Eslick's bike, a couple Bonneville Salt Flat Bikes and Bilansky's bike.

There is a ride to the museum leaving from Hal's HD/Buell at 6:15pm on Thursday, June 17th.

I think the bike is ready.
I'll be heading East tomorrow morning.
I can't wait! Haven't been on two wheels since last Labor Day!
Now I have to round up my riding gear? Wonder where it's all at?

Just got a call from one of the East Troy Village officials ... It sounds like they will be joining us tonight at Gus's and I let them know we were also going to be at Gus's on Saturday also.

Sounds like we are getting lots of attention and appreciation from the Village.

What a crowd and what a great bunch of folks! . . . perfect day, perfect weather and perfect (no get offs) day at Blackhawk Farms Raceway.

Half the fun was registering and getting to talk to folks who have arrived from far and wide.

Bill Loesch, President of the Village of East Troy, came out and checked out the Buells and hung out at Gus's tonight . . . .

Kudos to the organizers for doing a GREAT job!

We want everyone to return home safe with stories of a great time. NOT hurt or stories of a Hospital visit or massive fines.

Well, we missed the last item. Do'h! While cruising around the county roads, I wasn't paying attention and was doing 70 in a 55. Neither my wife or I have any idea where he came from. I was slowing down for a light, next thing I know, there is a sheriff's car NEXT to me with his lights on. I glance over and there he is pointing for both my wife (on her bike) and I to pull over. Wrote me up for 69, my wife for 70. Oh well, I haven't had a ticket in 14 years, I guess it was just a matter of time. Just sucks it had to happen here.

I do think they are looking for us around here though. Coming home through some twisty roads, there was another cop sitting on the other side of a corner just waiting for somebody to come flying around the corner, so be EXTRA careful around the East Troy area. Methinks, they are looking for some extra $$$.

Well Wayne . . . good news . . . the stories are coming in torrents and history is being made. This grassroots Homecoming 2010 has exploded and turned into what is very likely the largest BUELL HOMECOMING ever!

Like when the Grinch stole Christmas and the Who's down in Whosville simply went on . . . proving that Christmas was something that lives in your heart. . .not something that someone makes . . well so too, as Jon Flickinger pointed out tonight . . .Buell lives in the hearts and souls of the folks who ride them . . their special relationship with their bikes and with each other.

The "Little Company that Could" didn't much care that it had been kicked by the side of the road . . . pulling the plug should have made all these folks pack up, go away and not be heard from again, right.

Wrong . . .

Like the singing that came from down in Whoville that morning . . . more Buell owners showed than ever. . . . over 100 "Elves" appeared in what looked like a mega-reunion . . . they came from the East Coast . . the West Coast . . . Bob, Graham and Kate came from Australia and oddly no one's enthusiasm seemed in the least bit eroded.

Ya know what? . . . Buell, the company, the man and the entire family of Buell riders around the world . . . well . . they are not only alive . . they are stronger than ever. Try asking a 5 year old to stop loving their puppy. . . there, you've got the idea now.

The folks who put this together . . . have done so spectacular a job that it's going to take a number of various reports just for those not attending to realize the scope of what's happened here.

All I can say is . . you folks have made history and . . .

SEE YA IN 2011 !

Court

25 . . . er, the LAST 25 of these famous photos (printed on archival paper) were signed and number by famed photographer Saverio Truglia from TIME magazine and Erik Buell . . numbered 1 through 25 and offered for sale. The lady looking through the parts bin is Pat Palicka. She and her husband Bill are some of the finest folks I know. Bill is planning on bringing his 2 Buells to Gus'. I know you all will treat him like family and make him feel a proper Buell welcome. I adore him and his family. I wish I could have made the trip. I see some faces in these pictures that I truly miss.
You guys continue to have a marvelous time and be good....if you can't be good take LOTS of pictures.

Pammy: Thanks for the "heads up" and I'll be sure to run Pat and Bill down this evening.

It was a MOST amazing day. No one ever dreamed . . even in the days when HD had dozens for folks dedicated to planning and executing Homecoming that Buell would turn out this kind of a crowd for a Homecoming.

There was a large disturbance in the Buell Force during the month of May and this Homecoming was perhaps a far more significant celebration than many will realize until Mr. Gess starts writing . . you ain't gonna believe it.

Today is another huge day . . . Erik and I (as soon as we conclude our "domestic service" . . ask yourself . . if you were having a baby shower would you have Court and Erik valet parking cars??? . . what could possibly go wrong?) are going to head down Uke's at sometime and then the Gus's event this evening.

A LITTLE HELP FROM MY FRIENDS: I left a small shoulder bag full of BUELL HOMECOMING 2010 frisbees on a chair at dinner last night. The bag says "Iron Man" on it and belongs to one of Erik's boys. If you've seen it . . . throw the frisbees and snag the bag for me. If someone is at Alpine Valley and could check with the staff and see if someone picked it up . . I'd REALLY appreciate it. - REWARD

More pictures to come as soon as I can get them . . ..

Great, Court. Although "running them down" sounds a bit harsh. ;o)

Bill is very special to me, almost like family. When you meet him you can tell he is a supreme being. He is a huge Corvette enthusiast as well as a Buell guy.
I am jealous of you all.
