Weather permitting, yes. Didn't we see your M2 sneaking out of the Bean last weekend? (Message edited by scotty_j on May 19, 2010) |

Nice video Jeff.. When I went to academy they had you walk several paces in front of the instructor and then turn around and spray you in the face at that point you did'nt know were the guy was coming from. |

You can ride it on the road more often and for less money than you can at the crack...I mean track. |

You will see more crashes riding with NEBO than you will ever see at the track. |

That's not entirely true...but I have seen quite a few nebros bounce off each other and the ground. The fun thing about crashes at the track is MOST crashes are menial at best, and I'm always tickled to see someone drop something fancy. I do have another scoot to cruise around on, it may be my everyday machine. Sold the xr, picked up a ktm lc4. Great dirt machine with surprisingly great road manners. Will I be able to keep up in group rides with knobbies? Who knows...but remind me how many group rides I've been on this year. |

Trackheads... A big-bore thumper is a fine machine for the road. I commuted on a KLR 650 for about four years. With a fork brace, windshield, and some Pirelli Scorps it slabbed like a like a champ. Git yerself a set of motard rims & tires and that Katoom will be a blast! |

Personally, I could never understand WHY a track guy would not want to stay connected to his bike when not racing it. When I had a track & street bike separately, it always took me a few sessions to get back into the grove of that bike. They just handled differently and had different characteristics. You just loose that "Feel as one" with the bike feeling... Sounds like your mind is made up anyways, usually is when people have to ask this question so the point is Moot at best. You don't even race so I don't see how this will affect ya...Just take it off the road and use it for track days till it goes boom... :-) |

I hate to say it, but that is a very insightful Eric. I haven't really made up my mind. I just know my inherent lazyness. Which is why I haven't touched the thing since I was in nh last. I think the key here is to get a second set of wheels for the Buell so I don't burn up my race tires. |

I hate to say it, but that is a very insightful Eric. Welcome to the age of The Kinder, Gentler Firebolteric. What caused the change in attitude? Old age? Cut back on the red meat? Track addiction? Or was it the change from American muscle to rice? Hmm... |

R.I.P. Morgan Rose
He died in one of the Race's I was in on Sunday. When I came around turn 10, the dust was still in the air. Pretty disturbing when I rode by and he was not moving.
Be safe this year guys, the streets for us motorcyclists are far worse and less forgiving.... |

Nobody seems to want to comment on how it happened... One would think we all might wanna learn something from this. Really disturbing. |

He crashed w/ one bike, (the guy we pit on the side of) Morgans front tire hit his rear in an attempt to pass in 10, He was then run over by a different bike... All I know... Sad indeed.... I'm having a hard time getting this out of my head too... I hope this don't mess with me out there. I almost didn't sign up for Pre-Reg. last night, took me a couple hours to hit that send button...Not Good.. (Message edited by firebolteric_ma on May 20, 2010) |

A friend of mine just got a KTM Adventure, and yesterday he loaned it to me for a brief ride. That thing is awesome. The engine reminds me a lot of my 1125, but lower geared and more tractable, great for tighter New England roads. I can only imagine that someday when the 1125 motor got made into a future Ulysses the result would have been like this. |

my boss has a 950 adv...and i was not wowed by it. i thought for it's lumbering size, it should have had MORE juice. except when trying to use it like a dirtbike. there's no lifting the front wheel over anything, just spinning the tire. it is what it is though: a fantastic adventure tourer/dirty road wanderer. you are right on the money with the 1125uly. that would have been right up there in the category for sure. |

The Beef Barn is among my favorite destinations, along with the Ice Cream Machine in Cumberland. I ventured a little further from Providence today, making my way up and around the Quabbin. Rt 62 just east of Barre is recently repaved and felt like magic. I had a great sandwich at the New Salem General Store on 202. |

Sure. Lowell's, 9am. I'll push it back to 10 if it'll get the Fagbolt out. I wanna see if I can pick my way through that old loop. |

What a great day for riding! I swung south to the RI/CT border on 95 then made my way up routes 49 and 97 through CT, ending up with a late lunch at the Vanilla Bean. There was another '08 1125 there, and I also got to meet Jeff who rode in on a Buell but it wasn't his because somebody else was riding his Mille or something like that. Jeff what did you think about that muffler? Loud or too loud? |
