Thanks for the info. I go to St mary's twice a year on dirtbike trips.One of our after riding dinner stops is there. I always get the paterno burger (yummy but filling).Only had the XB out there once 2 years ago it was awesome. At the time I had just bought it and was still " getting aquainted" with the bike, took it pretty easy.We went to a place I think it was called "Grand Canyon of Pennsylvania". Pretty cool, nice area out there! | ||

Never been to Denny's BB to eat. The PA Grand Canyon is nice... But the great roads are here near my shop for the Res Ride!  | ||

Toona, Myself and a a buddy will be heading out for the Reservoir Ride. We are heading out Friday AM from the Philly area with a northern scenic route. Probably won't hit Altoona until early evening. What is going on Friday? Any meeting up? Can you recommend some Hotels? | ||

I believe last year most of the guys stayed at Motel 6, but I like the Holiday Inn Express because they let you park your bike under the canopy, which is nice if it rains overnight or if you have to work on your bike. | ||

Pos, Thanks, I like the Holiday in Express a bit better myself for that reason. I will look into it. Do you guys get together Friday for anything, ow just to hang out Friday night? | ||

Hotdog, There were a few of us at Motel 6, we just hung out outside the rooms. We had a good time there watching the entertainment a few rooms down. The place is nothing fancy, but it's reasonably clean, and the price aint too bad. I'll stay there again this year. | ||

Thanks Ulynut, sounds like a plan. I will check out the Motel 6 too. No matter which one we (NewtoBuells) and I stay at we will check the other to see if anyone is there. | ||

IIRC, last year we may have gone for a short ride. Most of the guys rode in all day and weren't too excited to do another 50-75 miles, but I'm open to a ride if someone wants to... We did go down to an Altoona BBQ place, not Clem's, for some grub and story telling. Which we can do again or hang out at my shop or whatever... | ||

Friday night is TBD. With guys coming in from all over, I really can't set a time. I'll ride out to the Motel 6 around 5:00-6:00ish. We usually meet at the Motel 6 around 7:30 to ride to Tom and Joe's Diner for breakfast, not to be missed -"You can't pay for entertainment this good" is their slogan! The get to me shop around 9:00 and kickstands up no later than 10:00, maybe even a little earlier, depending on how restless the natives are. The Saturday ride will not be coming back to my shop until the end of the day. From the main ride loop we are riding to NittanyXT's place for Clem's BBQ (late afternoon). There will be rest stops along the route for riding breaks/"pit stops". Hard to believe it's only a little over 4 weeks away already! | ||

Altoona, I might attend. What's happening friday or is the ride mainly a Saturday event? I live on the East side of PA. I'll probrably truck out with the bike Friday after work. Could you send info on what and when and stuff? Thanks. | ||

Lv, the main ride is on Saturday. Friday is just a get in to town, informal meet and greet at the Motel 6, probably a short ride to get some grub around 6:00ish. Saturday morning meet at Motel6 around 7:30, to ride to Tom and Joe's for breakfast at 7:45. Then ride to my shop (depending on temperature) a short loop of the Res Ride back to my shop in Bellwood (600 N 5th Street, for GPS units) for another pre ride meet and greet. Kick stands up around 10:00 for the main ride. Plan on a 125-150 mile ride with rest breaks along the way. After the main ride we'll go to NittanyXT's place for Clem's BBQ mid to late afternoon. From there we can break up to ride home and I can lead another ride route back to Altoona to the Motel6. NittanyXT called me tonight, but I'm out of town. When I get back in town, we will lay out a better detailed itinerary and post it here. | ||

Just got off the phone with NittanyXT. Here's the itinerary for Saturday, times will be somewhat followed, but should something come up, they can be adjusted accordingly. 7:30 meet at Motel 6 in Altoona 7:45 leave for Tom and Joe's for breakfast 9:00 leave from T & J for quick loop thru Kettle Street/Sinking Valley back to my shop in Bellwood 10:00 Tipton Mountain run 11:00 Back to my shop in Bellwood 12:00 Roll out to re-run Kettle Street/Sinking Valley then transition to NittanyXT's ride thru Huntingdon/Entriken/Raystown then back to NittanyXT's house for Clem's BBQ, potato/macaroni salad, etc. We should be back to Nitt's house around 3:00/3:30 We're going to "pass the hat" to cover food expenses. Any money collected over the food cost will be donated to a local dog rehab shelter. If you plan on staying for the BBQ, please PM NittanyXt here so we can get an approximate head count. Please come even if you forgot to PM, but an accurate would be nice to have. Don't forget to add a riding partner in your PM if you're riding 2 up! 6:00ish roll out for a ride back to Altoona. Route depends on what you want-more curves or slab. Route choice to be made then. | ||

Toona, Sounds good, I have been trying to make this trip for the last two years but haven't been able to because of other obligations. I'm ready!!! We (NewtoBuelles and I) are heading out Friday night from Jersey/ Philly. Taking a very northernly route that looks to be very cool. Staying till Sunday to take a different northernly route home. May even head into upstate NY and make it a 4 day trip staying near the Catskills. Should be a great 4 day weekend! See you in 25 days! (Message edited by hotdog271 on May 04, 2010) | ||
