Yes, we have to wear them... how else would you know who not to ride like an azz around?

That still didn't stop some people from doing stupid things in front of me. Like stuffing some poor noobie by passing up the inside. When that wasn't allowed, and doing it right in front of me while I'm following them and filming it.

If I want to go out in the A session and ride like a fool, I have to take the vest off.

So, what's everyone's schedule like coming up? When can we ride?

I have this weekend booked up and I'm really busy on the tenth. But I might be able to ride on the 11th. I have a half marathon I'm running on the 17th but the 18th I'm free.

I'm 90% sure I'm going to Bart's SpringFast ride in Arizona the weekend of the 24th/25th.

Greetings...I'm back.
10th looks best for me. The 11th will only work for short - half day ride...I have things I have to do later in the day.

Hope the weather warms up... My TT doesn't like to start when its cold.

24/25 is a track weekend

Kim, Flowers on the Triumph...the bike looks real nice.

Unfortunately, it's the 10th when I'm all booked up. I have a faculty meeting all morning at UOP and a birthday party in the afternoon. Barring any unforeseen developments, I can ride on the 11th.

My TT has never liked the cold. I just get used to it and let it warm up before I ride.

We have company from Colorado that weekend- Carbon Fiber Bob and his wife. Don't know if they're riding, but if not, we can put them on one of our bikes and hit the road.

I'm off and can ride sat or sun. but the next weekend I'm coaching a MSF class and working the race school.

Thanks, Nick. Once I get it cleaned up and back together, I'll take more pictures, now that the paint job is finished. I just sent the forks off to Race Tech for a complete rebuild.

Hey guys,

Finally got my password reset to post a reply. I can ride the 10th or half day the 11th. I work Sunday night. I rode over Jemez to SF today. Still cold and snowy up top and lots of cinders on the road. Was going to ride back down on 14, but had to cut it short and come home on 25. Keep me posted on the plans and I'll be there.

OK, due to lack of a more original plan, this is what I came up with:

Meet at Coffee At Dawn in Cedar Crest at 0900. After an appropriate amount of socializing, we can ride south toward Mountainair. We can either stop and eat there, or go on to something else.

I figured that going south is better since the roads will have been clear longer. Going north to the mountains would be cooler and the roads are going to have more sand/cinder on them, making slightly more treacherous conditions. Maybe we can tackle that next month.

I also figured that this route helps those who only have a half-day or so (Nick, Joel). This way, at whatever point you feel you need to turn back, you can and it's not too far back to town. I figured that after going down to Mountainair and maybe eating there, I'd ride back at least as far as Santa Fe on that side of the mountain and then see where that leaves me with time.

So far, I've gotten confirmations from Joel, Tim, Ed, maybe Murrae et al, maybe Nick, maybe Luis, probably Kim P. No responses from Kim I, Bill, or Bear. Forgot to copy Zane but I'll forward him this link now. Does anyone have Xen's email? Maybe I'll call the shop and remind him.

OK, I have spoken to Joel, Ed, Kim P, and Tim who are all for sure going. Looks like Nick may be a half-day only, as will Joel. I pinged Luis who I'm 99% sure is going (on his new Ducati). Conway is out as he's in San Diego. I'm going and bringing Anthony on his SV650. I THINK Murrae & Mabel are going and will bring Carbon Fiber Bob and his wife Diane. They may be on one of Murrae's bikes. Never got a chance to call the shop, so Xen might not know about it. Bear never responded.

Anyways, it's set for 0900 at Coffee At Dawn. Joel is meeting me at my house at 0815 and we're all meeting Ed at Valero on Tramway and Menaul at 0845 for gas. I figure that if the ride down goes quickly or people start peeling off, then Ed, Anthony and I will return all the way to Santa Fe and see where we want to go from there. We have no deadlines to meet, so might as well put on a bunch of miles. ; )

OK, good ride yesterday! Kim, Tim, Joel, Ed, Anthony, and I met up at Coffee At Dawn and rode to Mountainair for lunch at the Ancient Cities cafe. After that, Joel peeled off, going back home via Belen. After we returned north toward Tijeras, Tim took off like a bat out of hell and we never saw him again. The rest of us went to Kim's house in Santa Fe for some pumpkin custard desserts she'd made. While I would like to have gone home via NM4, we were running out of time and so took the freeway.

We'll have to plan a good ride in early May. Perhaps that weekend before the track day?
