Neil...ST1300
Bob...ST1300
Josh...FJR1300
John...VFR800

Neil called last night after picking up his new scooter and said "this is going to get me in trouble"...He's already had it to 120...Did the motoman break in and is doing the first oil change this a.m...I can't wait to see the "blue bike" next weekend...

John had his knee surgery (replacement) last Monday and all is well except he's doing some really fun drugs and that's why you haven't heard from him...Cut him on Monday and kicked his sorry ass out of the hospital on Wednesday!!!...Get well quick V2win...

See Ya!

My god, the whole world will be turning blue this summer...A friend of mine has a FJR1300 and you need to sit on both before you decide although, for my money, you can flip a coin and be happy...

>you can flip a coin
My understanding is there are a lot more coins left over to flip if you get the FJR. ; )

Its not for sure for sure but...

Speaking of which anyone want to buy an S3 or S1?

Are you counting lost sales of Buell Sport Touring bikes? The FJR + 7 yr warranty is less than my S3 was.

This is true, the ST is a tad more $$...And the FJR feels much more sporty...And the ST has a standard 3 year unlimited mile warranty...And the FJR weighs a bunch less...etc...etc..Jeez, that's why this is such a hard decision but you really, in the end, can't go far wrong either way...You guys all know that the final thing in the ST's favor for me was the warranty...But I ride a tad more miles annually than some...And then there's Joe Sparrow, who has had H-D's all his life and last year traded his Ultra for a GL1800 at Ted's...Saw Joe a few weeks ago at Classic and he's got 75,000 miles on the GL...Honda's gonna love him...

See Ya!

I just test rode an FJR. this one. Very interesting. Very different. Pegs vibrate as much or more than the S3 but no vibs in grips or mirrors. Decent acceleration (0-60 in 2.8xsec is decent, right? ; )). Felt a lot "smaller" than I was afraid it would. Seat is about the same height as the S3 but its wider - I can't walk it against any incline cause I can't reach well enough.

I think I'll call Neil's dealer and put money down on Tues unless a local dealer can match their price. Then I just need to sell my main riding bikes and be without for the summer : (

We had a fun dinner last night at Blueberry Hill...Josh had his order paperwork for his new FJR and a bunch of brochures and Neil, the lucky dog, was riding his new, blue, 2004 ST1300...And the blue is a gorgeous deep metalic...And I've already spoken with John what to do about my black wheels...Neil's are silver and they really look good...Mine kinda say, well, nothing...Mariabelen was in class at Wash U so we all rode over there when she got out and said hi before riding on home...

Again, congrads Neil and to Josh, now the long wait begins...

See Ya!

Hey Bob,
It looks like some of the riders from the lone star state are planning a ride over into Arkansas. They are talking camping out and shit like that. Mid April. See topic above.
Later,
John

Me thinks the Texans might get raided, maybe a 2 prong attack from the north and northeast directions. An old fashioned flanking manuever. What chance would a few Texanos have against a MOB and a SLAB? KCMob has an advanced riders school on Sunday, but that leaves Saturday open. I wonder if I can get my bike back together this week.

Thanks JOhn.
It's going OK. I'm finding out that having a job cuts into my free time too much but the money is better. ; ) I work in Shreveport LA and live in Bossier City. And yeah...been on the Jurassic Kitty more than the Buell lately. That will change soon. It doesn't have the grin factor.

Hey DAve, good to see you around! Well I just had to post this pict of my 2 "passions" (you decide which is #1
Passions.
As of today, the ST has 2800 miles in 3 weeks, too bad one week was real wet! I think I have Gay talked into a little ride to Destin, FL the week prior to the Superbike races in Birmingham. Her only comment was how will I pack for a whole week?

The ST is what 2-up sport touring is all about! Too bad only Metric mfg's had the vision, er, ah sorry, just my $0.02. But when many Buelligans go over to the "darkside" because BMC doesn't want to support the Sport Touring contingent here in the USA, it is a terrible thing IMHO. I would have bought Buell if there was a model that was close to either the FJR, ST, or GT.

Oh well, time to get off my soap box and RIDE!

Ride more, Lean more, Grin More.
Neil S.

April 23-25
Road and Track Rally
Brass Door Motel
Gassville, Arkansas
(870)435-2988
Kathy Mellembakken 870/322-7777

I'm going to try and go if my father's health permits...I'll ride down Friday and back home on Sunday...

And, hey, our ST's may be great bikes but they don't swallow...I hope your priority is, uh, "straight"...

Bob,
You are turning into a dirty old man!

Digger,
All is as good as can be expected. The doctor screwed up and operated on the wrong "leg".
Now I have a joint in the middle of my joint. : )

I go in for my first post-op exam this thursday.
I have cabin fever like you can't imagine.
