Made reservations today for the ferry. Boy, people from Newfoundland are friendly and they're really proud of their Island (Province). The two people that I talked to really have me worked up about this trip. One woman told me that once we've been there we'll keep coming back. I think it's going to be pretty neat. |

Just got some bad news, I am in charge of a major project that was just given an August 1 deadline. Knowing the details of the project and how they typically go it may be tough to take that much time off for the trip.
I am going to have to discuss this with the manager of the area and see what he thinks but I have to think of how it affects my goals. Our year end bonus is directly related to how we meet them and I can't take a chance on a major negative. |

Mike, just move your deadline up a couple of weeks to July 15. That way, the project gets done early, you look golden, and you still get to come East.
Yeah, I know; it's easy for me to say that, but I'm not in your shoes. Seriously, I hope there's some way you can pull it off, but if not, you will be missed. We'll keep hoping.

I wish it were that easy. This is an office move and when they set the date for the move it doesn't make any difference how much preliminary work is done, they don't move until that date. I have to make sure all the voice and data circuits and all the equipment makes the move and is working Monday morning.
I had told the manager that I was planning on taking a 2-week vacation then but he wasn't too impressed.
My only hope is that they postpone the date, but I can't be responsible for the postponement. |

Oops! better make that FOUR months from now. I guess I'm so eager with anticipation that I can't count straight. August is four months from April.
Why do little boats make you sick? You don't have to ride one; I meant we could watch the Regatta that's happening that week. Or did I get the date screwed up?

I think that I really should be knocked down to about 1%. Unless something serious happens, (A PD hires me at just the right time and I win a cage [car] somewhere), I really don't see myself making it. Why can't some unknown, rich relative die and leave me lots of money.
