Well it's working great for me! Thanks again Brandon, that has been weighing on my mind, just wondering what it was going to take to get it right.

The bike seems to be doing better already.

I won't commit to the ride tomorrow, but I really want to be there. If I think I'll be able to do it I'll post something up from work tonight sometime. I should be asleep right now, but the puppy needed to be taken care of. Chat with y'al later.

Sheesh, talk about lack of dealer support...I got a letter from Buell the other day saying that theres some wiring harness I'm supposed to get swapped out (not a recall, just a suggestion). Golden Spike was having an open house today, so, while already knowing the answer, I asked them if they could order the part...NO, go to SLC HD. I hop on the highway and zip down to SLC HD...can you guys order the part? NO, find another Buell dealer. Wow. Thanks a lot.

So are there ANY Buell friendly dealers in the "local" (with in a day's ride) area???

I am SO up for a ride on Sunday...it wasn't bad today, so even if it's no warmer than it was today in the canyons, they'll be fine. Where are we meeting? I wanna go!!!

Ah, just saw this from Bob:

"For us here; the weather looks nice enough this coming Sunday for a spring tuneup, get to know each other, warmup ride. Meet at the Farmer Market Sinclair in Mountain Green about 1:00 PM, a ride around Pineview and a stop back at the gas station for warmup coffee. I'm ready, anyone else up for that?"

Is that still the plan?

That's my plan. I'll probably hit up some breakfast somewhere (cause I'm a pig) before I make it to the sinclair station. Kerri, I hear great things about High Country HD in Colorado. If I'm remembering correctly, I believe they'll ship. I don't know this from my own personal experience, I think I read it somewhere. Bob, Kendrick wants to get some riding in, so I believe he'll be coming along.

Thanks Saxon...I'll give him a call.

Great ride today guys! Thanks for inviting me along. I look forward to the next time we head out! I'll be gone all of April and the beginning of May, but it's game on after that! If Bob hasn't smeared himself on a road somewhere, I'll see if he wants to tag along as well.

Ride safe, y'all! : )

just curious - what is the 'best' ride in our fair state?? I like the twisties myself, but good pavement and light traffic count heavily in my world..

Jeff, not too familiar with nice rides down in southern Utah, but up here within an hour or so, maybe a couple of hours are some really good rides most of us have been on many times. Check out the web site below. Not really "one best", but all good.

http://www.canyonchasers.net/

Some of us especially like East Canyon, Monte Christo & Logan canyon(which can both be done easily on the same run), Old Snow Basin road and especially Wolf creek pass. All good pavement.

On Canyon Chasers site go to maps at the top and then scan down to the Utah state section below the western map. Up to date info and great explaination of surface, difficulty and directions. Even places to eat, drink, etc.

If you're not too familiar with the area we'd enjoy having you along with us to show you. We always ride at each of our own pace and when we play a little always wait for our comrades to catch up. If you like running alone enjoy Canyon Chasers.

Our run Sunday was great and about 110 miles to East canyon resort and back, then Snow Basin road. A few stops and refreshments or gas when we wanted. Real casual. Usually Sundays. Some of the higher rides do not open up until early summer. Hope this helps. One of my favorites close by below. Stay safe, Bob

East is also one of my favorites. Have never done Logan canyon but sure would like to.

Hwy 9 through Zions has been one of my favorite scenic rides, and Miller Motor Sports park is not much for scenery but the road is great!

Hwy 12 is supposed to be a great scenic ride as well, and one I hope to do this year.

If I'm in town I'd love to ride along.

Kerri, I have to bow out myself, although I'd love to go, my bike is down right now with the new ECM back at EBR for getting the idle lowered a little. I will probably not have it back for a couple of weeks. That is one nice ride, wish I was going. You guys stay safe and have a great ride. Don't forget a rasberry shake at Hometown. Catch you again in May. Bob T.

Just curious - are any of you fine folks participating in MoM or Utah SBA track activities? I'm considering a run at the MoM roadrace schedule this year (even buying a trailer), and would be interested in sharing resources, travel, etc. Considering converting the 1125 into a dedicated track bike, but still testing the waters a bit.

Jeff, my son Mike and I have considered doing a track day out there or the ART class but no actual racing. MOM is a great series which one of Mikes friends was about #5 in on a GSXR 750 until a bad accident last year. He's reconsidering right now what he will do. That is one great track. Keep us posted. Bob - I have done a couple of track days with the XB at LHM, and it is an outstanding track. I actually bought the 1125 based upon the Buell track day a year or two ago. I still have some bike prep to do before I can meet MoM requirements, but am looking forward to 'turning a wheel in anger'. My concern is that I bust my melon and have no back-up to cart my butt and bike away - just looking for some possible track buddies to back me up in case I get banged up.

I've been wanting to take the ART class for a few years. Did both Buell track days at Miller in 07 and it was great.

I think the first class this year is a super art on the big track, not sure if it's a full track or half config though.

I won't be doing any real racing though, my sgt did that a few years ago so I know how much it costs, too much for me! I'm in Salt Lake so a bit closer to the track and could be a back up for transport for you should something unfortunate happen.

Mr. (?) B:

Are we talking the $3000 ART course? The sticker shock has been keeping me at bay, although I certainly could pick up some skills. The track costs can be a bit much for sure, but I need an expensive new hobby to keep me from spending my money on frivolous things like, say food, house note, or kids' college money. I'm pushing 50 (never thought I'd live that long) and figure if I don't get off my butt and do it, the reflexes will only get worse, so.....

I have a track only '03 CBR600RR that I've done a couple Apex track days on. I'll be doing the Apex track day right after the WSBK weekend. I'll be down there all weekend. The Apex deal isn't too bad...its either $199 or $259 for the whole day. You get at least 6 sessions, and I'm usually pretty wiped out by the last session so I might do a lap or 2 and then I'm done. I'd be fun to actually know someone there. If you don't mind a girl chasing you around the track it'd be fun to ride with you, too. I'd thought about taking the Buell out there, but man, it's so new, maybe just a couple laps...

Check them out...http://www.apextrackdays.com/schedule/index.php?id =77 Cool thing about the Apex guys is that if you want some advice/tips, they'll go out and do a few laps with you and help you out.

This time it's the perimeter course...very fast! It'd be awesome to get a bunch of Buellers out there. I'll have my toy hauler there so there'd be a "garage" area and shelter for anyone who wants to hang out.

Stirz, I haven't seen a $3,000 ART class advertised. So I'm not sure we are talking about the same class. Super ART is more like a sport touring class on the race track. If I remember the description right. I haven't spent much time on their site this year. The regular ART class is taught on the cart course.

Seems like last year Utah SBA ran regular ART classes for $100-150 and the Super ART was $299 or in that price range. (My memory on those prices feels a little fuzzy, could be a couple years old)...

Anyway, I think it's cool that you're wanting to take up racing as a new hobby. The track is thrilling.

Outer course is bound to be a high speed event; I'd be in the way on my air cooled bikes. I've heard from several different people that Apex puts on a well organized event.

-Mike

Nightmare, I'd probably be chasing YOU around the track.

Buggles - I was probably thinking about the "yamaha champions school" they do at LHM. That one IS pretty spendy. The basic track days are much more do-able.

Was that a Freddy Spencer school too?

Nightmare1, the weather looked pretty iffy on Saturday when we left town, did you do your ride? Looks like winter again for a couple days...

So how-come all the active Buellers are all up north? I do see Buells in Salt Lake occasionally, keeps me looking for them whenever I hear a cruiser.

Mike, it surely is a late taste of winter again. Ten inches at our place this morning. I think most Buellers are "active" riders as thats exactly what our bikes are all about but they are not active here on BadWeb. I kind of got Brandon actively into this site because he may not have known about it before but I think he was a lurker for a while. I just walked over to him at a gas pump one day and we got acquainted. I try and do that anytime I can make contact with another Bueller. You and I have been here for about 7 years but I do occasionally see a post from someone here in Utah, usually asking a question. Then again, the HD dealers have said, its really not a good area for riding Buells, its cruiser country. We do know thats not all together true. Its great for sport bikes!, and for cruising if thats your thing. HD dealers just did not want to change their old philosophy and sales base. Their loss.........Sad. Looks like another month for the higher canyons to open and then "lets ride"or before. Bob

Buggles (Mike?), we did ride...went up 89 to 30 and over to Logan and up through the canyon to Garden City. It was a tad frosty about half way through the canyon, but my God that road is so much fun, I just pressed on through. By the time we got to Garden City, we needed to sit and thaw for a while. Got some hot chocolate and hung out in the furniture store for a bit. On the way back it was a little bit better but we kept getting stuck behind RVs or 18-wheelers. The majority of the canyon was in good shape...no grit, up until around where Beaver Mtn comes in. Up around Sunrise campground and the overlook it was a bit messy with grit and snow runoff. We came back through Sardine Canyon through Brigham and it was nice as well. All in all, it was about 200 miles of fun! I LOVE my Buell!!!!!!!!

Bob, I'm not taking that trip after all so I'll be around for a while. Looks good this weekend, was thinking about a more southerly route...got any good ideas?

: )

Kerri, sounds like you had a great time on the Bear lake run. I always get stuck behind traffic also! HA! The only, kind of southern route, I know well is Wolf canyon which will be closed for a while yet, so I'll defer to Mike (Littlebuggles)for his expertise. Mike, whacha have for us bud?
