I cannot ride a bicycle without mirrors. I am constantly looking at the bars to see what is behind me and it is not there. Maybe I should put some napoleon mirrors on the bicycle.

Well guys its Chuck here from tth-d I'm no longer there i got the ax 3/2/2010... not sure why I sold 10 bikes last month! Tied for for 1st next to the internet retard we called turbo "he is no cast member from the Wild Hogs movie". hahahaha

I sold a lot of buell bike when I came back, just to let all of ya'll know THEY DON'T GIVE A SHIT ABOUT THE BUELL bikes. The GM there thinks he will corner the market on them and force you all to buy from him. My sales manager there hated it when I sold one he would say these damn buell bikes suc and I wish we could just throw them all away.

Yes I'm upset I lost my job but you all know what I'm saying is true they DON'T care about you or the bike you ride! So If I was you stay away cause they are not there to help you in any real way. Not one person in there rides one and they did replace me with a sport bike guy but he wont last long and he will see that the place is worthless. I never should have went back but I'm glad I got to meet some of you guys and sell a few bikes to ya!

Thanks for all your support while I was there I really enjoyed helping some of you! I will be out on my Yellow 955 if you see me jump in behind me and lets go ride!

Later,
Chuck A.K.A. "The Buell Guy" from tth-d

Sympathies, Chuck, and my best wishes.

T'Tower people were good to do business with for my few Buell parts transactions; both via e-mail and at the counter. FWIW.

nUp4it:

Know where you are coming from !!!

Known several BUELL minded employees in various Dealerships where the HARLEY-DAVIDSON mentality in the store management ran them off ...

It used to be:

"HARLEY-DAVIDSON Dealers making MECHANICS out of BUELL Riders since 1986 !!!"

which has been up dated to

"HARLEY-DAVIDSON Dealers making MECHANICS and PARTS MEN out of BUELL Riders since THURSDAY the 15th of OCTOBER 2009 !!!" ...

The way "i" got a 108,822.1 miles on my BUELL is "NO" HARLEY-DAVIDSON technician has ever touched my BUELL !!!

"MAY THE LONG LASTING BUELL BE WITH YOU !!!"

Keep your 1125R, get a FACTORY SERVICE MANUAL and PARTS BOOK and join me in being a BUELL MECHANIC !!!

THE BEST TO YOU AND YOURS, STAY IN TOUCH ON with The South Carolina BUELL Riders GROUP ...

Sorry to hear the news Chuck....
Thanks for all your help with my purchase on Valentines day. I hope to see you up in the mountains one of these days. Should I still take my bike down there for the 600 mile service?

Sorry to hear about your job and Thundertower, Chuck. I figured you would have had Thundertower signed on as a Badweb sponsor in another month or two if Buell had continued. Let us know where you wind up.

hey mike(harley tech)

didn't want to call out your last name incase you weren't warm and fuzzy about others knowing it. i called up willy in service yesterday and asked him to pass the word on to scooter and jarad about my bike. sunday when i tried to pick it up i had a oil pressure light stay on(i am thinking it may have been due to water in the oil pressure switch connector from being pressure washed). jarad was kind enough to spend a few more minutes messing with it right at 5 o'clock. he called scooter and scooter reminded him that he needs to update the ecm per the service bulletin for the charging system. that is where the problem came in. jarad tried it about 4 or 5 times and it would not update. it turns out the update was not needed because the flash level that the bulletin calls out(ends in us142). that flash was done in nov.

felt bad for jarad because it was so late on sunday and he was not in his element(working on buells), but he was a hell of a trooper in giving it his best.

on a side note, have had no problems with the oil pressure light since jarad and i gave it a quick look over and unplug and replug the oil pressure switch.

I got my orders and it looks like we will be in the area for good in mid-June. Closing date for your house is June 30. We'll be on the N Chas/Summerville line.

I can't wait to meet up with you guys.

HMMMMMM I don't know about a fish fry but a crock pot full of deer chili may be a more 'practical' idea. Could be cooking while we are riding!!

""IF"" we were to do something like that in the 'midlands' (ride around Lake Murray or Lake Wateree) I wonder how many could come? Ride and then eat chili afterward. (If we ate chili first and then rode, I would have to be the leader rider.) Would need to get started and be done with the riding by around 1:30 at the latest so lunch could be consumed and then get back home?
I have April 10th in my thoughts.

Good to see some life on here. I rode to work three days last week, including one trip to Fort Jackson in Columbia on Wednesday. I was about one layer short for the ride up- I froze! Looks like the rest of this week will be good for riding.

A gathering sounds like a great idea.

Don, 4/10 isn't a good day for me, I have a race at Neese's that day. But even if I can't make it, I'll be looking forward to some good pic's of the ride and the group enjoying some good deer chili.

I love that Erik Buell is on facebook. I have been chatting back and forth with him about the XB turbo project. A truly sad story. Straight from Erik's mouth:

"That's what the hole through the frame was for on the early XB's!"

"We were so close...bikes had completed durability testing, and the motors actually held up better than the stock motors!"

They had a turbo motor designed but Harley killed it.

Anyhow Erik is a ridiculously cool guy. But y'all already knew that.

BUELL RIDE AND 'GATHERING'
OK boyz and girlz. The big boss said Saturday April 10 is a GO! WOOHOO. So here is the skinny. Unless something else better comes along, we'll ride that day around Lake Murray. Meet at Lowes on US highway #1 in West Columbia. This is just west of Interstate 26 at exit 111-A. Kickstands up at 9:30 or 10:00. (I will try and test ride the route beforehand and I may move this time a bit to suit.) After we finish the ride, all are invited to my backyard deck for some crockpot venison chili and soft drinks. If spirits are in order, BYOB.
So I can prepare correctly, let me know that you will stay and eat. An approximate headcount will be great!
