Hello all,
to quote Shakespear which ive never read "...the reports of my death are greatly excadurated" I've been really really busy driving through hell and back through most of the country. I've even taken my Freightliner Cascadia w/ 53 foot trailer through a road that would make a Buell rider cringe...hahaha. Werner has recently landed a Harley Davidson account wonder how i could land that one? Not letting any spoilers out but could I been seen at an up coming meeting? no spoilers here... hope to see all of you soon

Just got back from a week in AZ. It was killing me to see all these people riding and knowing I have a brand new bike in the garage just waiting to go for a ride. Is it spring yet? Had a great time riding ATV's in the sand dunes in CA. Fun, fun, fun. |

Fellow Windy City Club members,
We are one month closer to riding season, oh yeah! One month into the new year means time to renew membership in the Windy City Club Buell Brotherhood. Dues will remain the same as they have been and discussion will ensue about further benefits for the 2010 season.
Homecoming will be discussed, and the survey results concerning a Track Day during the Homecoming weekend will also be talked about. Who has reserved banquet tickets, who has reserved rooms for Homecoming and foremost who is going to Homecoming?
Plans will be made for Slimy Crud Run, which is almost 90 days away, as well as other adventures on two wheels this season.
Come on out Thursday February4th, sign up for the club, hear about IL H/D special events and pricing specials on Buell parts/accessories. New ride stories, Racer's corner and our always infamous treasurers report.
See you there!

Yep, thanks from me too!!
Also just to let everyone know I've got discount tickets for this years International Motorcycle Show in Rosemont, Feb 19-21st.
And this year they save you $5 a ticket, not the measly buck or two as in the past.
If for some reason you can't make the meeting stop by anytime to pick yours up anyway, but the ticket must be verified online at least one week before the show so don't put it off too long.

Back in town now but unfortunately I'm leaving back out on Tuesday and can't make the meeting. Maybe the next one, I'll try and set it up so I can be in for it.
I see alot of motorcycles running around down south it makes me want to ride again. |

I have to fly down to Veracruz MX at the last minuet so count me out for the meeting.
Just to let everybody know, I vote "Yes" to any riding activities that sound fun should there be the need for a vote.
I did make my reservation at the hotel for home coming but missed out on the dinner.
I am a go for the Slimy Crud.
Maybe we can video conference?

Hey All,
Addressing the club there is a Team Endurance Race scheduled at Chicago Indoor Racing in Addison for the 28th of the month. Thats the race where its 300 laps per team on the big track (combined 1 and 2) its the same format that the car/motorcycle club uses. Basically the team splits the laps between them; I've long wanted to compete in this format. If the club is interested bar the relatively short notice id like to put a team together. we'd need at least 3 drivers with a max of 6.

The nice thing about Veracruz are the 80 deg temperatures. The bad things are the 16 hour work days and no bike to ride.
I am not fond of February either.

News 'n notes from the Feb 4th Meeting.
Primarily, if you missed the meeting you missed the "sellout" or existing Buell stock in the IL H/D inventory. Rumors have it that the remaining items may be posted on eBay. Next the club was treated to info about the IMS held in Rosemont this weekend. Discount ticket coupons were presented and are still available at the Dealer, see Sam.
Next, Homecoming news, of those planning on going, those attending the banquet, the proposed THURSDAY track day event at Blackhawk Farms. Proposed Eric Buell Racing facility tour and all sorts of rumors, innuendos, bench racing and embellishment. Gee, we missed you and want you around come on out for the next meeting!
IL H/D news, Winter labor rates are on for the next four weeks or so, now is the time to get those service needs attended to. Specials are also available see the Service Department for details.
Racer's report was interesting with Speedy giving us the CCS schedule, boy he will be busy this season. Next, Mike Kirkpatrick ( Coolice ) revealed that the James Gang will be one of the premier Buell teams AT DAYTONA for the March 5th Daytona 200. Don't miss this live motorcycle event on SpeedChannel. The James Gang will be campaigning at uber sprint race prepped 1125R in the ever competent hands of Paul James. Look for #70 on the big banks and hopefully on the podium.
Of course Slimey Crud Run was on the agenda, and everyone was reminded of the May 2nd event.

thanks keith, the only thing i'll add is we also talked about having WCC flags and/or banners made for events such as the Daytona 200!!!
i've got in touch with Harold Clemens [Mike Kirkpatrick's friend] over at Adventure Graphics about making some vinyl banners... pricing here:

Hey guys, JohnB here, (newer WCC member,starting 2nd year, DUES PAID)(rarely post here)(i'm the guy who said he might have Banquet/concert tkts)
At last meeting, Sam mentioned a 2003 XB9r he had for sale that he took in as a trade-in, that he wanted to wholesale out. Well after checking it out, i bought it. $2500 OTD. Anyhow, as fate has it, I came across a deal on a '09 1125r i couldn't pass up. So, I'll be selling the XB9.... Priced at $2300, with service manual, to WCC members. I posted here, before ebay, because One of you guys showed interest, for your graduating son. Sorry, i don't know all your names yet, LOL....but i should get a email if you post up here or just let Sam know, he'll give my phone #, paperwork has not cleared yet, so no rush...

I spoke with the WCC member I was looking for.... (at the IMS show)
No immediate, sale, SO, if any looking for a TrackBike,(newtires&servicemanual) or project,(some bottom end noise).....decide quickly, 'cause it will be up on Ebay, as soon as I get title in mail.
BTW: took it out for quick spin Friday and it ran well, I even got the wheel up easily, probably 'cause of RaceKit.
Note: I would rate the IMS show a 7 for Bikes and 3 for Gear/Acc.
