Well hopefully by next weekend it will be warm and ill have my quieter exhaust on the bike. The kooks system was just too loud.

I'm not too enthused about the M/C show either knowing Buell won't be there. Some of the other manufacturers haven't been showing up either.

It's not looking too good for "warm" any time soon. I guess I need to buy some more electric gear.

I'm going to go over to the IMS and at least check it out, but if it's as cold as it has been lately I may be in the cage. It's too bad they aren't bringing the demo rides back to Greenville this year, I had fun with that last year despite the bitter cold.

Matt- I never found any place in Charleston. IIRC, the nearest official "Jet Hot" place is in Charlotte, and they'll do a very quick turnaround on a part if you ship it to them. The closest place I could find that did a similar (but not official "Jet Hot") coating was in Conway.

Steve- We pretty much have 12 month riding in SC. You'll probably have the most issues with riding in July/August. It's tolerable with mesh gear as long as the bike's moving. We've had a cold winter this year but generally our winters are pretty mild.

I grew up not too far from Florence (I was actually born there). Road condition is probably better than what you're used to as we don't get all the snow and ice to cause damage. There are no twisties near Florence, but there are plenty of nice backroads. Florence is about 70 miles away from Myrtle Beach. There are some excellent twisties in the north west corner of the state. The nearest twisties are about 220 miles away near Greenville, SC.

The nearest track is Carolina Motorsports Park in Kershaw, SC, about 60 miles away. The nearest dragstrip is the Darlington Dragway, about 20 miles away near Hartsville, SC. I think we've got at least one SC Bueller from Florence.

Come on down!

Note to self: Do not wear polarized sun glasses under AGV clear shield unless you want the Pink Floyd experience.

I was just too lazy to change the shield to the dark one. I have been doing a lot of commuting in the dark with these early winter nights. Maybe I should not be so lazy.

BTBAM is coming soon...
Check out Scale the Summit on myspace. They are really good.

Agreed. This weather sucks. Was watching the Speed channel the other night and saw a documentary on "the million dollar highway", US 550 in Colorado between Montrose and Durango. They followed a few bikers around the twisties and hair-pins and discussed how it is one of the most dangerous roads in the US. Looked like fun but scary with no guard-rails and 1000ft drop-offs. Wish it was only a short ride to Colorado, but needs to warm up first...

Maybe a cross-country trip should be in the works, but may need more vacation time...

The ride home tonight was very frigid and the headwind made it worse. I almost stopped to put on the heated gloves but decided that would be a colder hassle; so I mushed on home. Think I'll drive the cage tomorrow.

I, or rather, one of my customers, needs a favor of someone in South Carolina if there is someone that can do it.

I have a customer who is the father of a US Serviceman who is currently deployed. When he deployed from here in San Diego, one of his "friends" wrecked his Firebolt, and then it got further screwed up while it was in storage. His dad fetched the bike back to South carolina and is trying to get it fixed up prior to his son getting back from deployment. The dad lives in Tamassee, South Carolina.

I'm fetching him all the parts that he needs, but one of the items that was stolen from the bike in storage was the ECM. I can get him the ECM, but he won't be able to get the bike working without a TPS reset.

That's where the favor comes in....I can't do his TPS reset from here in San Diego. Is there anyone that has ECMspy or VDSTS that could do a TPS reset for this guy once he gets it all together? He's already spending a fair amount of money to get the bike back together for his son, I'm trying to help him minimize the extra expense of having to cart the bike to a dealer to get that done. If there is someone that would be willing to do it, I can give you his contact info.

Al
