Hey guys-
Been on this page a few times, but just came across your club's link. I bought my first Buell this month (1125R).

I have always owned Harleys, but have been wanting a Buell for a long time. I got a good deal and didn't want to pass this bike up.

I bought the bike wrecked, and was expecting to have it back on the road by this weekend, but the master cylinder is on back order until the 2nd!! So it will be a few more weeks before I am out riding, but would like to meet up with you guys when I am rolling.

Welcome!!!!!! We meet at Latus the first Saturday of every month for Club meeting and you are welcome to that. Watch for rides on the links. Winter slows some us down but Slim Dave says he will ride any time any where.
Keep watching and come see in February.

Welcome! Did you get the one (2008) that has been on & off Craigslist located at a Hillsboro body shop/tow yard with the fith-wheel trailer in the parking lot for the past few months? The guy has been finally dropping his price to more realistic levels. I was hoping someone in our group would jump on it if not me.

I did get that bike. I had Latus run a VIN check and all the recalls had been fixed.

Most of the damage was to the right side. what i did was:
Stock I fixed: front right headlight, right handle bar, right grip, right side radiator, and right side radiator shroud.

After market I added: Hotbodies flush mount signals, Buell bar-end mirrors, Nissin RMC, and D&D pipe.

The guy who wrecked this bike had spray painted the wind screen, the new one (smoked aka kick ash) should be in tomorrow.

I got it all together and on the road (licensed/registered/insured) on Tuesday and haven't gotten off of it since.

I have always been a Harley rider, so this bike/style/ride is very new to me so i have just been taking it really easy and trying to get to know the bike. Hopefully see you guys around Latus soon.

So how do you like the D&D? I had one on mine for about 6 months.

Yes, I did. I had to duck every time he started his engine. It is an awesome sounding pipe though

Yeah, Behind and to the right SUCKED. Pipe blew all sorts of stuff up in the air. Gravel, sticks, dead furry things, small children...

+ 1 on the behind and to the rt. - first ride I went on with Aron about blew me off my Uly when I picked the wrong side. No problem knowing if his bike was running through earplugs, or the volume on the Zune set to 11.

Anyone else go riding today?
I went out:
The day started out with some fog. Two friends and I planned on going for a ride. When they showed up, I went out front to warm up the scoot, and show them my new bike. Of course it wouldn’t start (dead battery). I had to jump it off my friend’s roadking. As soon as it got started the sun came out, and the day immediately got better.
We took HWY99 up to HWY211 over to HWY213 and into Portland. It was a great ride, stopped at Big Burger in Molalla for a bad ass double cheeseburger. If you haven’t been there you have to make the ride out, it’s at the 213/211 junction. After a day of riding around under sun and blue sky we stopped at a friend’s house. I figured the bike deserved a bath so I washed her up good. No more the ten minutes later it started raining. Figures.
I fired up the 1125R getting ready for my ride back to home to Salem and when I turned the key I found out that my right turn signal was stuck on. I rode it about 15miles hoping it would fix itself (ha ha, worth a shot right?), as you can guess it didn’t. So I made a pit stop, opened the housing and ran a blow dryer over the connection. About fifteen minutes later I was back on the road, now with functioning signals. The ride home it dumped buckets. I took I-5 to get home fast. Getting off the exit I put on my left turn signal, worked great. Took my turn and tried to turn on my right signal to switch lanes, and low and behold my left signal came on. The rest of the ride home I didn’t use signals.
Over all it was still a great day. The ride up was amazing; the ride home was wet but not bad. Could have done without the dead battery and the signal problems. If anyone has any ideas on what to do to keep water out of the signal control housing please let me know.

Rode yesterday, yeah it was gorgeous. Only rode to work and back though so not far and during rush hour on 217. Doug (my Uly/Shvl Hd ridin' hubby) rode the Shovel around just to exercise his guitar fretting hand with the clutch... or so he says.
