Hey Ras,

You got an 1125 R/CR? Awesome! (which one? Hard to tell in the pic) Congrats either way! I have been out of the loop. Been out of town for weeks (still am) and havent been on badweb.

Your poor old bike. Ya, the last pic was nice.

I have the 2010 brake light on my bike now and the 2010 turn signals are in at HDFR but I havent been around to get them yet......the new brake light is awesome. Love it and its bright! Oooo. Ahhhh.

Breakneck,

It's an "XB9SLR" Stated out as an S(Low) ended up with an R rear.

I'm replacing the stock "S" handlebars with the "R" style handlebars.

Cindy, I got the 1125R. Had one heck of a time getting it through the front door! I have a problem with fairings they kinda freak me out cause I can't the the front wheel turning. Or cause the faring is stationary.

Hey Tony, I finally made progress in the bathroom, it's about 80% finished. Had to, to get the bikes to fit in the patio that was filled with bathroom construction crap. Well, that was one of the reasons to get it done...

OK.. It's official and I'm mentioning it here early so folks that wish too can plan to attend...

CLASS w/Reggie Pridmore will be at VIRginia International Raceway again this year -

According to the web site, these are the dates booked... Of course, subject to change after the new year starts.

JULY 8th and 9th (Thur/Fri)

They are offering 'group' discounts for each day (I haven't asked, but I suppose if you have the same group each day, you get the discount for each day)-

- 3 riders $25 off each -
- 5 riders $40 off each -
- 10 riders $50 off each -

JULY 8th -
Full Price - $325 per student.
It will be a 3 group school - Advanced, Intermediate and Beginner (called A, B and C on their website). There will be 'Scratchers' on this date, meaning experienced riders (A & B groups only) can opt to ride in their group and the group below them as well as attend classroom sessions. 'Scratchers Pass' is an additional $100 and you must be approved by the staff (demonstrated sufficient experience) to do this.

JULY 9th -
Full Price - $395 per student.
This is a TWO group day (A and B only) all 'C' group riders become 'B' for that day. Slightly longer sessions usually both in the classroom and on the track.

Both days offer (usually) Good amounts of track and classroom time, snacks, drinks etc. for the students/staff. Reg and Stuart (both AMA Champions) plus Gigi ('The Nurse') and a group of selected, Reg trained instructors.

Your learning is pretty much adjusted to your skill level (they give you the basics, then fine tune for what you are comfortable with).

It's really worth the money, I usually do both days since they impart so much information that after one day, well... the second helps lock in some of it.

Now...

Who's going? How big a group can we get together?}

Oh and in case you're wondering..

Here's a vid of Reg on his CB1000RR at VIR.

Shot late the second day, at about 3:04 in the vid, he makes a smooth pass on some guy in Blue & Black leathers on an 1125R - For those of you with quick eyes..

You wanna learn from this guy.. listen to him shift!

well here we go looks like all track schools are out for me due to another big trip for 2010 this is what happens when you own a ULY: )

Sept 2010 trip

North to Quebec, trans labrador highway (gravel) to Goose Bay and then to
the coast, ferry to Newfoundland, cross Newfoundland, ferry to Nova Scotia,
Cabot trail, ferry to Maine, home.
Looks sort of like the attached but the ferrys are different.

RAS wrote" I have a problem with fairings they kinda freak me out cause I can't the the front wheel turning. Or cause the faring is stationary."
Ras after a couple of miles you will get used to the fairing and actually begin to like it better than the little fly screen the XB's have. K

Cool video. Watching it I realize my lines were all wrong.

It'd be great if we could get 10 riders, but I don't think there are 10 riders in this thread, let alone 10 that would want to do it.

I may be able to do one of the days but not both.

K,

I hope I can get used to it. It only bothers me riding at slow speeds, like parking lot speed or riding through the front door speed.

Ras do this next HD demo fleet comes into town go and get on a Street glide. Its the best handling Harley with the biggest non moving fairing I know of. It will make your fairing seem like a small pea. If you don't want to get onto a Harley then go and test ride the Victory Vision touring model same thing but not a HD.

Alchemy its going to be a 17 day trip, I'm riding with 3 BMW adventure bikes, they are planing it. I'm on the Big Bad and Dirty thread asking about different riding tires for gravel.
Breakneckaweck you don't need a full piece leather if you are in the Novice group I've seen lesser gear at different schools go to the web site and see the requirements. The learning you get from doing a track day is great! K

Damn.. K, I was kinda hopin' we were gonna spend some quality time ridin' this year.. Oh well.. You gotta do a day with me sometime before I get to old to hang off damnit!

Ras, You're in! Ok, now if Robin goes.. Uh, my Robin (unless you think your Robin wants to attend - don't know if she'd be ready though) that's three (4?) of us..
By the way, you know there's no charge for friends and family to watch (and giggle at us in our leathers).. So it's a 'short' getaway for a loved one as well, even if they're not riding. My Robin has done that as well and really enjoys the place.

Hey Break, what sort of gear do you have? If you have a textile (depending on what it is) they may allow it. You can also use a zip together pant/jacket. OR you can rent some of theirs (depending on availability) You (or if you want I) can check with them and they'll let you know. You'll also need proper boots (over the ankle) and gauntlet types gloves as well as a full face lid.

OK... Now who else is up for this? Once I get some names, I'll drop a note to Reggie and tell him to expect us as a group..

If we act quickly, we can probably all stay at The Lodge, right there next to the track (unless you're wanting to camp)...

K, theres many dirt roads I found by Sugar Loaf Mountain. Of course I was unaware that they were not paved till I got there. Ended up riding through streams and stuff. My pretty little bike was way dirty when I was done. Also found many dirt roads by Little Orleans. It started raining. I was on mud roads not dirt. I was wearing the road. lol!

It was a bit chilly the other night. -25 or something with the wind chill. Today its a balmy 24. Its nice out. The snow is pretty too.

My windshield washer fluid is frozen. Didnt think about that before I drove out here. Checked my coolant to be sure it was rated low enough for the cold but forgot about the washer fluid.

Does anyone local have the heated grip, bar drilling rig? I finally have a new set of bars on the Uly, but it looks like I'm going to have to drill holes in my pretty aluminum bars to mount the left grip. I'm just hoping someone has one I can borrow for a day or two, before I start going after it with a center punch and a hammer.

I just might...let me get home tonight and take a look. I was not looking forward to doing that drilling on my '06 bars, but then found they already had the hole. I had forgotten that the bars had been replaced after a deer strike...the dealer gave me the newer, pre-drilled bars. That sure made the job go quickly.

It would be great if you do. I needed a new bar, and I wanted a lower bar, so I went with a set of Renthals, because they were the first I found locally with enough room for the controls. Just from my quick sit test, they feel great.

So, I guess it's gonna be a small group going to CLASS this year huh? Or is anyone else thinking of going?

Yo Table...I have the drill jig. Hope it fits your bars, because it is a set cylinder, not adjustable. If your new bars are a bit narrower, it should slide right on and you can adjust the allen key screw to tighten it.
