For any of you with some spare time tomorrow/this weekend:

The organization, "Home for our Troops", will be building a home for a
Massachusetts National Guard member, SFC Michael Downing. On Friday, 11
December, 0830, there will be an Opening ceremony, and work will continue
through Sunday, 13 December, to build the weather tight shell. SFC Downing
is a double amputee who was injured in an IED attack in Afghanistan last
year. Construction skills are not necessary, all those who show up to assist
will be given a "job" which may be basic labor or site clean-up.

http://www.homesforourtroops.org/site/PageServer?p agename=MichaelDowning

The Adjutant General has authorized Army and Air National Guard Commanders
and/or Supervisors to grant a Pass for AGR or Administrative Leave for
Technicians who wish to volunteer for this project on Friday, 11 December
2009.
This is subject to mission requirements and must be coordinated and approved
through the appropriate supervisors.

Volunteers will meet at the Middleborough High School ( 71 East Grove Street,
Middleboro) for parking. All Volunteers will need to be bused to the site due
to lack of parking on the site. Busses will run all day each day of the
weekend. Attire for Friday is ACU/ABU, it is requested that volunteers wear
their uniform on Sat/Sun as a highly visible show of support.

Jose Cuervo Christmas Cookies, a forwarded email of a favorite recipe
Jose Cuervo Christmas Cookies!
Hello Everyone. I received this recipe in a forwarded email, A Favorite Christmas Cookie recipe. The note said it has been in the family for generations and not a bad batch ever!!!

Jose Cuervo Christmas Cookies
1/4 cup of butter
1 cup of water
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
1/2 cup of brown sugar
2 cups sifted flour
2 large eggs
1 cup nuts
2 cups of dried fruit
1 bottle Jose Cuervo Tequila

Sample the Cuervo to check quality. Take a large bowl,
check the Cuervo again, to be sure it is of the highest quality,
pour 1/4 cup and drink.

Turn on the electric mixer. Beat the butter
in a large bowl to fluffy.

Add 1/4 cup of brown sugar. Beat again. At this point
it's best to make sure the Cuervo is still ok, try another
1/4 cup just in case.

Turn off the mixerer thingy.

Break 2 leggs and add to the bowl and chuck in the cup
of dried fruit. Mix on the turner, and pick up fruit that flies off.

If the fried druit gets stuck in the beaters just pry
it loose with a drewscriver.

Sample the Cuervo to check for tonsisticity.

Next, sift two spoons of salt, or something. Who geeves
a sheet. Check the Jose Cuervo. Now shift the lemon juice and strain your nuts.

Add one table.

Add a spoon of sugar, or some fink. Whatever you can find.

Greash the oven.

Turn the cake tin 360 degrees and try not to fall over.

Don't forget to beat off the turner.

Finally, throw the bowl through the window, finish the
Cose Juervo and make sure to put the stove in the wishdasher.

Cherry Mistmas !

A totally hot chick was just in the store. She was wearing some type of sweats, and was checking out some of the bikes. Another sales person started talking to her, and shook her hand. He apologized for his hand being cold, and she replied "I just came from the gym, that's why I'm so hot".

She was absolutely right on many levels.

Any of you guys into wood stoves? I have an old Vermont castings Resolute that was given to me. I put it in my fireplace works great heats just about the whole house.

When I got it I noticed small crack on rear baffle running horizontally. I used furnace cement to seal it off has worked fine for 3 weeks. After last cycle noticed crack coming thru cement again.
I'm not too concerned the because outside "shell is undamaged its only the rear baffle.stove temp is still controllable with inlet air damper. I figure it will just suck a little more air than it normally would have at a lower damper setting.
Any insight or ideas from someone familiar with these models? keep using ? weld it ?

Weld it up. Maybe liquid metal if you don't have a welder.
