To all.....regarding ride this Sunday. I propose we meet at the giant power plant smoke stack west of Joliet and located at the T-intersection of LARKIN Avenue (a.k.a. Route 7) and Route 6 at 10:00am. You can't miss the landmark smoke stack, and it is easy to reach via I-80 (exist Larkin Ave going southbound). I have a scenic, entertaining backroad route out to Starved Rock that begins around that area and would love to take it if there is interest by others.

- 10:00am meet at power plant (route 6 and route 7)
- Ride to Starved Rock estimated at 2 hours via backroads.
- Depending if we stop for food, etc., I estimate we could be back at Joliet around 2:30PM (or earlier if we don't take backroads on return trip).

I'm flexible. Let me know. Post here so all can see. 708 373-5445 mobile if needed.

hey curt, great plan but can we push back the meet time a bit? that's an hour away from me, i'll probably be out late tonight and i'd like to let that sun warm things up a bit more... noon?

also, dan [reducati] just got a 1125cr too and said he could probably ride too around noon.

Hey Curt and Tim,

Sorry I did not get back with everybody sooner. Our power was out and just went back on.

Do you want to meet there at 9:00 am? Any time works for me.

Just post the final time.

I will be there.

While deciding the start time keep in mind that we set the clocks back an hour tonight. We get an hour extra to sleep in Sunday morning. Who is deciding start time at the smoke stack? Fly? Wrong?

I'm OK with noon. Sounds like most everyone else is fine with it , too.

So........Let's meet at the power plant (intersection of route 7 and route 6) at 12:00PM. Everyone should be sober be then, especially with the extra hour of sleep tonight.

Regarding brunch, I believe brunch would be over by the time we arrived. They got good burgers....

Happy Halloween!

Oh yes oh yes oh yes.... Its meeting time again. Thursday night at 7:00pm sharp at Illinois Harley. I say sharp because we now have a definite meeting end time, which is 8:15 out the door. We will do this to be less of a financial drag on the dealership which in the past has always paid its employees for as late as our meetings lasted. The employees of Illinois Harley regularly leave at 8:15 and now so will we. We can always grab our pizza at one of the bars down the street if we want.

With all the Buell excitement lately we'll have lots on the agenda to talk about.

One thing on the agenda for sure this month is nominations for new officers for our annual December election. This will be exciting for me in part because I will be stepping down as Director of our club. I've been sitting at the front table in one position or another now for four fantastic years, and as my departed WCC friend Greg Holman once said, "now its time for me to kick back in the back row and heckle". I came on as Director to lead us just as the "Buell drops BRAG" crisis hit, now its time for fresh blood to lead us just as the "Harley drops Buell" crisis hits. I'm as excited about who will lead us as I am about where we'll go.

So I'll see you all at 7:00. I'm actually going to get there a little early to get some oil and a shifter from the parts department. I hope to see some of you there early purchasing some odds and ends too......

John

to add to the crisis stuff, I have a contact of a Buell supplier that mentioned that the Buell inventory in East Troy had built up and became stagnate. Hope these bike get to the dealers so that someone can enjoy them.

Listen up, get in touch with Sam by November 18th with who and how many will be going to Christmas Party, the sooner the better. Christmas Party for the Oak Park HOG/Buell chapter is Saturday, December 5th The club decided to subsidize half the cost of the 35$ banquet ticket for both members and guests. Get to Sam ASAP.

December meeting will have voting for new club leaders. Nominations are
Tim for Director
Dana for Assistant Director
Frank for Treasurer
Kurt for Secretary

ALL members are encouraged to attend and collar and leash in any ALL prospective members to this important meeting.

A special thanks to John Thomas for his two years of leadership and direction of the club, and keep that Bus a rollin.

Speaking of rolling, a ride down the Red Arrow High in SWestern MI was suggested by Tim II this Sunday. Meeting time and location to be announced, perhaps on the 294 Torrence ave exit. Keep your eyes peeled for details right here on the BadWeb. Looks like a great day for it, see you out there!

If I am in town Sunday I would like to ride Sunday into Michigan. However, we just received word that my oldest son crashed in a cyclocross race and is in the hospital in Indianapolis. I do not know his status at this point but if he has to stay in the hospital, my wife will surely want to go down to see him. I will post later.

He had a concussion, but did not break his collar bone as original thought. A lot of stitches in his elbow and generally beat up. But he is 25 years old and will heal fast (must be nice).

The off season racing is hard on one's body. At least he only pretzeled an older set of wheels and not one off his 3K Carbon Fiber wheel sets. It may be cheaper to get him into motorcycle racing rather than bicycles.

Tim II,

Fatherly bragging is a well earned and deserved privilege. CONGRATS Good to hear that the injuries are temporary.

Sam, Count me in for two at the OP HOG Christmas party.

Remember folks, the club is supporting the event with a 50% contribution, so effectively two for the price of one, So Come on out and Join the Fun!

Ride well,

I did a few hour ride Northeast of Valpo. I found a few roads with turns in them (unusual for NW Indiana). Actually, a couple nice roads.

I am going to put together a short route that we can try after the weather breaks. Maybe I can lure you folks from Illinois to the wilds of Indiana.

Hey Clubbers,
Time for the December meeting 7PM sharp at IL H/D. Sam is off on vacation, hope to hear from Speedy about the new "Eric Buell Racing" company supporting Buell racers with parts and servicing. We are also voting in the new club officers so ALL are welcomed to attend. Oak Park H.O.G. Christmas party is this Saturday at Crystal Sky banquets and we would like all to attend. Recall the Club is picking up 50% of the cost for clubbers and guests so it is a great deal besides a great time as well.

See you Thursday!

A few things about the Thursday meeting:

Its time again for our yearly election for club officers. Nominated are:
Tim - Director
Dana - Assistant Director
Frank - Treasurer
Kurt - Secretary
No one else was nominated for anything so I'm pretty sure I know how the election will turn out :-) . Come on out and vote for our new officers!

We'll wrap up the meeting by 8:00 or 8:15 to keep costs down for IL Harley.

We won't be having pizza at the meeting. Instead we'll go down the street to McGaffer's immediately after the meeting and the club will pay for pizzas there. You'll be on your own for beverages but pizza is ON THE CLUB. Woohoo!

I'll have my bus at the meeting and can fit up to 15 people in it for a ride to McGaffer's and back to the dealership after pizza. Want a ride in my Burning Man bus? Now is your big chance!!

Club election, free pizza and a ride in a Burning Man bus. How cool is that? See you all there!
