Xtreme,
Dont let it get to you. In 1995 I bought my first S2 for just over $10,000. nowadays, you can pick them up all day for around $4000. But I would gladly pay ten grand again for a pristine S2 with less than 5 miles on the odo, that was completely stock. What matters is, are you happy with it? Does it give you a warm fuzzy feeling every time you look at it? Does it give you a SEG every time you ride it? If so, than it's worth what you paid for it.

Rex,
It was $6595, after New Mexico tax, and license, it was $6700 OTD. They have two black R models, and one red CR left.
They did everything a GOOD dealer should. Walk around of the bike, showed me all of the adjustments, set up my suspension for me, installed high bars, (free). Last year when I bought the oogly at Arrowhead, all they did was hand me the keys...
If you call Barnetts in 'Cruces, ask for Heidi, and tell her Art from Phoenix, sent you.
They also have ALL their Buell motorclothes discounted 75%, I bought 10 jackets, 6 sheatshirts, and about 10 mechanics shirts.
The jackets are not riding jackets, but they are lined, and look real nice: I paid $35 each.

All my friends are getting Buell stuff for xmas!

Got my tank bag on, ready for today's ride.

As you can see in the background, the oogly is now a coat hanger...

The Black Lobster!

The mirror adjustment sucks, and it's hard to see out of them. But so far, in the 10 miles I put on it, The permagrin won't stop.

I'm going to run up to Globe today to get some miles on it, gotta get past 600 miles so I can rev it higher and really see what she will do!
Sucks, it looks like it's going to be a cold, and windy day. : (

Xtreme,
we are going riding both Monday and Tuesday if you feel sick, (cough, cough) and need some motomedicinal medication.
Monday Prescott and back, Tuesday, Prescott, Camp Verde, Payson, and back down the Beeline.

I blew off Globe today, but did go up to South Mountain:

Afterwards, Debbie and I rode up to New river and back. She's still adjusting to riding her new Buell, after riding the Suzuki the past year.
I'm up to 170 miles now, on the CR. Should be done with break-in by next weekend.

Thanks for the offer Wayne, ; )
Congrats Andy! So are you moving up the ladder next season?

Wow, that is a beautiful bike I love the CR, and love the Black one. Good job. wow, out the door. You said New Mexico tax...did you have to pay Tax in Arizona also? I received a call from Chandler that they may have one in house in a week or so. Even with their discount from HD he was still quoting around 10,000 out the door. I asked about the rebate from HD to them, and he said it included that. That is still about 4,000 higher than what you paid. Great looking bike.
Now to get Erik to make new S2's with this motor in them, huh? REX

That looks like Andys bike...

Rex, I think it was going to be about 7500 with AZ tax title, and license. I went with NM because i still maintain a NM drivers license because I still own a house in NM.
AZ State sales tax is over 7%, NM is only 2.8% or something like that.
The only CR they had left was a red one.
Good luck!

From todays ride up to Prescott, Kelly on his GSXR1000, and John on my XB12Ss, at a stop in Wilhoit.
Perfect riding weather, definitly not too hot, LOL.

Tomorrow we are meeting in Fountain Hills and riding up to Payson, Strawberry, over to Camp Verde, and back to the Valley...
I've got 420 miles on the CR now, should be broke in by the time we get back. : )
And the permagrin does NOT go away, LOL!

i just want to say thank you to everyone that has helped out, donated and supported me in the last years worth of racing. And a special big thanks to Wayne for coming out every race and working the pit and even donating his bike to make the last race to seal up the supertwins championship, i couldn't have made it thru the year with out your help. thanks wayne!

We'll see what next year brings but money is going to be even tighter so i need to line up new sponsors for the bike and try for the overall lightweight class championship.

GO BUELL RACING! even if HD boned out!

Does anyone know which dealer is signed to be a Buell Servicing Dealer in Phx?

Or will all Buell dealers continue to service?

I don't really know the answer to that Milar.
I do know that Hacienda is selling a ton of Buell parts on eBay, and can only assume that they are planning on dropping Buell.
I strongly recommend AGAINST taking your bike to Chandler as they do real crappy work. I've had to undo some of the crap they have done to my friends bikes.
ARROWHEAD in Peoria is your best bet. While I don't consider them a stellar Buell dealership, I hope it's because they are owned by the "Ride Now" conglomerate, and not because they don't care.
One of their service writers races Buells and is very pro Buell. I think you would have the best luck taking it to them for any service you may need.

Rex,
talked to Heidi today, the CR is gone, all that is left is 3 black 1125R's. If your still interested, PM me and I'll give you her cell number.

Rode the loop up through Payson, Strawberry, and Camp Verde today. Managed to hit the magic 650 mile mark on the CR, time for the first service, and I was able to finally take it up to 10,000 RPM's. Holy Crap! Hang on!!!
Kelly rode my XB12Ss, (hehe, I might just get him to come back to Buell yet!) and we switched bikes halfway through the ride. What a difference riding them back to back.
The CR is so smooth, and has soooo much power, but the XB feels so small, and ready to attack the corners. The CR almost has too much power coming out of the curves, you've got to take it easy. The same with that front brake, Holy cow, you can't grab a handful of that sucker! It will stop you RIGHT NOW! LOL

All in all it was a good day, and a great ride. Good riding weather.

Bartimus,

>I don't really know the answer to that

My understanding is unless a dealer signed a new servicing agreement with Buell, they will not be able to order parts or do warrenty work.

As an inducement, dealers had to sign the servicing agreement inorder to get the $3K and $5K rebates.

So if one of the Buell dealers in Phx is not offering the discounts, most likely they will not be able to do warrenty work or order parts.

I sold my Uly and S2. Currently riding a Multistrada but thinking of selling/trading it and picking up another Buell. Trying to figure out who might do warrenty work in Phx. Grand Canyon, who is close to me, did not sign.

Are you the guy who picked up my White S2 in Sedona last year? He was with a buddy from Colorado.

Mike

Mike, that was Frank from Colorado that bought your white S2. I was there to pick up his sportster frame from him.
I will probably take my new Buell back to Las Cruces if I need anything done to it. They are privately owned and very pro Buell.

Bart,

When is the first service on the CR? Is it 1K?

Are the remaining intervals at 12K?

For a trip to say, Big Bend and back, would you take the CR or the SS?

Milar,
the first service is at 620 miles, I did it last Tuesday night. I can't remember when the next one is, but I did notice that it has 6000 mile oil change intervals. WTF?

If I was going to big bend, and back, I would leave the Buells at home, and take my ST1300.
Neither the CR nor the SS have touring seats on them yet, if the CR had a windscreen, and a touring seat, I would take it.

REX,
All tube framed engines from the S2 up to the 2002 models will fit. Although you would want to go with something 1998 and up to get the benifits of the thunderstorm heads. I had a '99 S3 engine I was going to use until someone offered me a ridicules amount of money for it.
Now, having bought three bikes this year, and not selling any, I have limited space for projects, and need to make room.
I was going to build a street tracker out of it. Kind of a street legal XR1200R.
