BTW, I got turned on to another Buell Exhaust modifier. His customers say he does the cheese grater mod for short or no $.
Similar to Specs but better customer service.

My flight leaves at 10:52 this morning. By 1:45 (Central time) I'll be in Milwaukee. Looking forward to a good old Milwaukee Friday Night Fish Fry with some friends (some of them soon to be displaced elves). I'll be back Tuesday around lunchtime.

Even though it's covered with sweatstains, I've packed my C3 hat to represent. If anyone else is able to make it for "One Last Ride", I would suggest doing so.

Looking forward to Halloween!

P.S. Too bad the Buell closure isn't just a bad horror movie script.

We got a good 180 mile ride in. We ended up in Oriental, one of our favorite destination. Two things stuck out in our almost one hour stop. First, a lot of people were noticing the bikes. I have three different people come up and talk to us. I was surprised since the Uly was filthy. One of the guys was almost up to speed, knowing that the Blast was cubed, but did not hint he knew Buell was killed. One guy seemed interested in the Uly. "This one of those on/off road bikes?". Harley is soo stupid.

So we are walking around the marina watching several Canadian sail boats pull in when I hear over the radio a distress call from a sailor. For the next thirty minutes we gathered around the speaker as we heard the drama unfold. Several discussions between the boat in distress and the Coast Guard. The 24' red sail boat was taking on water and reported water almost over the stern. In the end good news. We finally see the red sail boat pull into the harbor with the stern very low in the water.

Sounds like a nice ride. At least with a bike you can park it if there's a problem ... boats or planes, not so much .

Way ta go Kristi!

Way ta go Kristi!

Thanks! We really had a great ride. I'm still trying to figure out new things...was it me getting used to riding solo or was it really that windy out yesterday. Carlos assured me it was the wind and I was fine!

Carlos is going to finish off my tire this week. Once it's done we'll head to Mark's house and get the new one mounted. Now all I need is my electric vest plug wired to the bike!!!

You will love the vest. You might consider electric gloves and Uly type handguards as well. It will make much more comfortable in cold riding. Also a blaclava (sp) makes a BIG difference in comfort on a cold day.

I want gloves...just gotta save the money for them. I got the vest from Buellish for $70!

I do ride with a gaiter on. It makes the biggest difference. The next ride I'm going to zip my pants to my jacket. I think that will help with the cool breeze on my back.

If it gets too cold, I'll be riding behind Carlos! He can block the wind - LOL!

I've been playing with my other new (to me)toy. I had to get it dirty Friday, it's Jeep. I took in off pavement / road and tried it out. I have to admit, that kind of traction is addictive. Put the Jeep in low lock and punch it and most mustangs would wish they could pull of the line on pavement that good. Today I have a favorite little spot where I can track acceleration. It is more about off the line than all out. That is perfect for Jeep since its still heavy and it is all about 0-60 and quit. I turn onto a four lane and accelerate hard. 100' down the road there is a rail road crossing. On my CB750 I could hit 55mph by the time I crossed the tracks. On the Uly or M2 I been able to hit 65mph. I just did it with the Jeep. It hit the tracks at 50mph. Not bad considering it was raining. All-wheel drive and traction control is awesome.

Jim, I'm too cheap to pay someone to give me a helmet-hair proof cut. Clippers have paid for themselves many times over.

Carlos, Jeeps are awesome. But even a Jeep won't get you over that pile of rocks out on I40.

HD of Greensboro is not passing on any of the incentives to Buell buyers. The sales guy to a prospective buyer "what we don't sell Buell will buy back." And they told the guy I sent down there that if he wanted a deal he had to go to Ray Price HD.
WTF is that?

I was not impressed with them in the least the last time I was in there looking at XTs, before all of this happened. They were over MSRP on the bikes, and wouldn't give a straight price- all they wanted to talk was monthly with an insane payback time (72 months???). I guess if they sell one, they'll pocket the 3G HD is giving them for extra profit. Guess they're not one of the dealers that signed up to stay as a Buell dealer. Nothing like turning away potential customers.

4WD Low is great when you have to pull stumps too. But you need good mud tires to pull.
I refer to my Wrangler as my "Other midlife crisis."
Carlos, could end up spending a small fortune on surf fishing gear too. Any excuse to take it off road. Nothing like driving out on the beach and dumping your gear out the back. Beats dragging it out across the sand from the parking lot.
