Heres the story. Pulled my wheels noticed bearings felt fairly notchy in the front, rear just on one side. I had planned to bring wheels to MOM's for the tire change. However since MHDB did such a good job fixing the rocker box leak. I mean not even a scratch or even not loosing any bodywork plastic washers.I figured I would ask about replacing bearings at same time.Well when I dropped off wheel set I made it clear to be extreemly careful. They assured me it would not be an issue and that there would not be a scratch. Ya right! Both wheels bead edge scrapped in several areas. Powder coat time! I guess I figured they couldn't make the same mistake twice?

I think I need another tps reset. It's skips and misses at idle....other than that it ran strong all day. Almost launched myself over the bars with the rev limiter once. I decided to shift next lap. A really fun time.

All youze: piece together some gear over the winter. You'll thank yourself for spending the money once you do.

Bike prep is pretty easy. For trackdays, you only need to tape up the head lamp and tail lamp, remove mirrors and license plate, and safety wire the oil filter. The brake light can not show through the tape. People usually remove the fuse for the lights.

Check out www.bostonmoto.com and see what they list for rider requirements.

Yup, Did 4 hrs. I'm beat. I don't have a timer, so I don't know times, but since I felt fast I must have been. Plus, right knee was touching a lot more, like in 8 and 10. Oh yeah! I'm prolly gonna skip Sat a and run 2 races sunday.

Fractuality - 12 Fatality Facts for Motorcycles 2008

The data is out and analyzed. If you want to read it all for yourself visit this link here: http://www.iihs.org/research/fatality_facts_2008/m otorcycles.html

But knowing the attention span of most people (and most riders) here's the digested version.

1. Wear a helmet motherfrucker, unless no one loves you and you don't owe anyone money you don't have. As the article states at the top:

Because serious head injury is common among fatally injured motorcyclists, helmet use is important. Helmets are about 37 percent effective in preventing motorcycle deaths and about 67 percent effective in preventing brain injuries

2. You are solely responsible when you crash, and half the time there's not even anyone else around to blame. Almost half of accidents were single vehicle (46%). That means you and only you rode beyond your limit.

3. Just because your state doesn't mandate a helmet doesn't mean you shouldn't wear one. There's a proportional relationship between people wearing helmets and states mandating that they wear one. That means if the state says wear a frucking helmet then you probably will.

4. Just because you're old doesn't mean you're a safe rider. Old fruckers (older than 50, you know who you are) are now the SECOND most likely to kill themselves on a motorcycle, right after people younger than 29. People in their 30's however have gone from being second most likely to the LEAST likely to crash. Yay 30 somethings.

5. Men suck. 91% of dead riders were male.

6. If you're a woman you're better off riding alone than riding bitch. 64% of women who were killed were riding on the back. And mostly women ride on the back. 89% of passengers killed were women.

7. Buying a bigger bike doesn't mean you can handle it. The number of people dying on bikes with engines larger than 1000cc's is going up. Fast. This is in contrast to people with smaller engines which are declining in fatalities.

8. Nice weather means use more caution. There were more deaths between May to September than any other months. If you don't ride regularly, don't just break out the motorcycle. Practice in a parkinglot first.

9. Weekends are way more dangerous than commuting. 42% of deaths happened on Sat and Sun as opposed to the entire rest of the week. Monday - Wednesday were the lowest. Remember commuters are USED to commuting. People on weekends aren't paying any frucking attention.

10. Later is NOT better for riding - riding between 3 and 9pm is more risky than early morning or late evening.

11. Heavily traveled roads, OTHER than highways, are the most dangerous. This is far more true in rural rather than urban environments.

12. You booze, you lose. 43% of waste cases were wasted. This is especially true after 9pm when 58% of people stopping more suddenly than they meant to were drunk.

Remember stats don't mean dick. Until you become one. Use your skills (assuming you have some) wisely and ride safe.

Hey All,

a good friend of mine works at Manchester HD/Buell and he is looking to put together a Buell Day sometime this month, Preferably on the weeekend, if it is on a Saturday they can do $30 DYNO PULLS!

They are also talking about bringing in some Buell Merchandise(Hats, T shirts, sweat shirts that sort of thing), they will also have store wide discounts of I think 15%. Other things like Hamburgers and Hot Dogs, A DJ, Bike Wash, Manch Vegas Stunters, and on site Pinstriping are more than likely if enough intrest is gained.

So if you guys are interested please let me know what days work best for you and I will pass the word along.

My Vote is Oct 24th

Thanks in Advance

Wow really, there's a f*cking concept, having merchandise on hand for the brand you sell! I purchased my bike from Manch. Buell and it was painful. They have had more than enough chances to win me over as a customer, and up to this point "EPIC FAIL".

Oh wait they did a great job on my custom powder coated wheels, "AFTER THEY PEELED THE ORIGINAL F*CKING COLOR OFF". Maybe Spider will go I think he has to pick out his new wheel color after his service, such a "QUALITY" Buell dealer who wouldn't want to go back.

Who's your friend? Is it Jake? The only guy in the place who will even entertain talk about Buell. Jake is a nice guy, but the Dealership blows! "YA CAN'T POLISH A TURD!"

I'll pass and keep my plans to go to HH
5 with guys that love to ride, and roads that beg to be ridden....F*CK YA!

Ustorque, Yes it is Jake I've know him for years and he is real good friend of my dads and also was the one who got me hooked on Buell after he Re- Built his S1

As for Laconia goes I am NOT a fan they put HUGE scratch half way around my rear rim when they replaced my tire. They don't have the decentcy to return any phone calls or email's after going on 6 months now!

if it is on a Saturday they can do $30 DYNO PULLS!

Most places, if not all, have FREE dyno runs when doing that sort of thing. I know I have had mine done for free at one. They usually give a prize for most HP as well.
