Julie, I am going riding with the WR tomorrow behind Central city and over to St. Marys glacier area with a friend. havent ridden those trails and 20 years.
I also want to make it street legal so i can ride it to the closer trail heads like rampart.

Have a great time John. We're heading out to St. Louis for a few days to visit with Dan's folks. The weather is suppose to be nice out there, as well as here. Um, I'll be thinking about riding the whole time.

Have to take advantage of all the nice weather until winter

Well it looks like I will be at HCHD on Friday to drop the Uly off. The rear bearings are going South and it is covered under warranty.

In other news. PPHD will be dropping the Buell line. About time!

Yahoo, about PPHD. I won't be back from Tennessee until the 29th so I'll miss the first Fall ride. When I get back? Oh yeah, I'm up for it.

I installed my new clutch cable last weekend, and installed the passenger pegs. Went two up for the first time last Sunday. The XB9 is really small!

I remember a time when PPHD was a great dealership for Buell and HD. It was the early to mid 90s. Since the new ownership and used car salesman attitude, poor parts knowledge and a so so service department they have hurt Buell, the Altitude Riders and the Buell Ownership experience.

This might not mean much to most people but it is everything to me. Everyone and I mean everyone that is thinking about buying a Buell or Harley I steer them to HCHD. I like to think I had something to do with this.

Now when the BMW and Duc riders get wise and do the same it will be a great day.

The problem is not Buells ties with Harley. It can work and does at some dealerships however, the way Buell is treated at PPHD just pisses me off.

I will get off my soapbox now....

Well Steve it looks like you, me and Lynn. Maybe you can talk Troyz into a ride as well.

Looks like I will be up at HCHD tomorrow. I figured out the clicking noise is not the wheel bearings on the XB. It sounds a lot like needle bearings in the belt pully shaft. I plan to drop it off and leave it. I do not feel anything different in the way it rides so I am not sure.

Hopefully they figure out the deal on your Uly...as I am hoping that I can finish up the repairs of my Uly this weekend. I'll talk to Troy in the morning.

Yep me too. Justin at HCHD is taking a look at it. I am confident in his abilities.

I had a nice visit with Dave and Lynn managed to spend some more of my money. Is this what being unemployed is like????

Anyway, I ran into a guy on a real nice yellow Blast. He really put a lot of effort into it and it had a lot of detail. I was looking for a Blast for Lynn but thanks to Dave she now wants a Lightening Low. We need to lower it about 2 inches for her to fit on it. Damn it Dave, the Blast is a lot cheaper....

I missed my friend Scott. He went up to pickup his bagger but also has a very sweet 96 S1. I need to figure out how to get him on this site.

If anyone has any ideas about how to get more Colorado Buell Riders on this site I sure would like to hear their ideas. I have been handing out business cards with the CBR link on it but I think they end up in the trash 5 minutes after I give it to them. I am thinking I will print some up for Dave to hand out to customers if he is allowed to do that.

Frank

I need to sell a garage to someone on this board! Frank, give out the cards to some of us. There are two new to Buell guys in Canon and I am trying to get them on the board. One has a pretty X1(I think that is the one with the funny right side plastic air box). The other has a yellow Blast, but I haven't met him yet. I'm preaching High Country to them, though it sounds like they are the only game in town now that PPHD dropped the Buell line.

Julie,
I rode thusday and again on sunday. Had a great time. getting used to riding in the dirt again after almost 20 years. It came back quickly though. Rode both days in the Central city area to St. Marys glacier area. Did over 60 miles on trails both days. I want to make it street legal so that I can ride on the road to get to the trails. Do not have a trailer to haul it. Hope you had a good trip. Rain today but some snow higher in the hills.

Julie,
I am sure you would do fine. All trails in that area are 4 wheel drive trails with a couple of rocky technical short uphills. My neighbors 11 year old son made them with his Honda xr100 so I think you would be fine. Just saw the news and snowing hard in Central City but supposed to be 80 by Sunday so it will melt quickly. Lots of miles of trails up there going everywhere and great scenery too.
What are the trail like that you have ridden near Woodland Park?

Time to get studded tires out and mount the snow rails to my boots! No reason to let a little snow get in the way!

John, I have a Kawa KLX140L (I think) and Dan has a Kawa KLX450. Mostly the trails we've done in Woodland Park are a mix between ATV roads and some interesting up/down hills. We have been on a single track which wasn't too bad, I did OK, other than going endo on that one. But only going a few miles an hour I didn't get too badly scratched up.

So a newby could do OK on the ones you did???

Got home about 9:30 last night, COLD, esp after being in 80 degree and 80% humidity. Had to get the furnace lit. Hope to get out this weekend. We have some furniture being delivered on Sat sometime.

Julie,
I think you could do most of them. Did you buy your bikes new? What year are they? did some research on them and they sound nice. Supposed to get a lot of snow up in the hills. No dirt riding this weekend but the Buell will be ridden on Sunday I hope. Busy Saturday. Turned my furnace on last night too.

We did get them new and I think they're 2007's. Got them over at Grand Prix on County Line. Dan would like to upgrade mine with a stronger engine Maybe???? That would be nice.

We're going to try and get out on the Buells on Sunday too.

The 140 appears to be a good beginners bike which you are. When you feel that it is holding you back from being a better rider, then I would upgrade. You have to be comfortable riding in the dirt first with a smaller less powerful bike. If your not making climbs and such because of power and limited suspension, then it would be time to upgrade. More power is not always better unless you can handle it. But when you know how to ride, the extra power can really help getting thru situations and climbs.
