I hit a porcupine last night! Buell 1 porcupine 0!

LOL!How fast were you goin? I hit a squirl once on my CBR at an unmentionable speed. A porcupine is quite a bit larger, damn.

I was only doing 55mph! I did not see it until the last moment. I swerved to miss it but it turned right into me. That got the old heart a pumping!

Rule of thumb is never swerve, even for a deer.
You are much more likely to go down from the swerving than from hitting a critter.
I personally know 3 people that have hit deer and not gone down. They kept the bike upright maintained speed and ducked.
Bikers 3, Deer 0.. 2 of the deer were cut in half, one bounced off.
Another case the deer was big enough and the guy hit it so hard the XB's front end sheared off (as was designed). He was all geared up and walked away from the crash.

Then there was another guy that tried to take out a cow..... remind me sometime to tell you..

Glad to hear you kept it upright, any quills in the tires?

I looked and could not find any quills...I must have hit him broad side!
