The Uly survived two trailer tire blowouts on the way.

Tried to find a way into what the locals call monkey fling - a cold war AF ejection seat test area with a 2 mile jet sled track. They used monkey to test ejection seats. Still closed off.

Some great scenery - Zion NP and back dirt roads here are great.

This really makes one wish for a dual sport.

Oh! I mean Uly...

Tried a mountain bike trail over sandstone today - did not make it very far, it got real sandy in between the sandstone, not a good thing with Sync's

More good scenery

Hid the Uly and my gear and went on a trail run.

Back from UT - learned a key Uly lesson - Sand Sucks! Went on a ride to visit Coral Sands State Park. The map showed a 15 mile stretch of "nonpaved" road when you cross into AZ. The road was packed sand and fine for about 2 miles. Miles 2-6 were patchy packed stuff that allowed me to avoid the 8" deep soft sand pockets. Then it got where I had to ride ~5 mph with my feet out for outriggers because of 6-8" sand roads. By this time I am over half way and stuck it out. Made it back to gravel but quite a workout powering through loose sand roads. At least I did not have a 45 mph "oh @#$%" encounter with a sand hole like earlier in the week.

The deceivingly nice looking road

That's where the fun begins.
I'll put that into my future rides.
