I forgot to compliment your long list of Buells. Maybe someday mine will be half as long.
What I get next depends on how fast my knees age. My 5th decade is a little over one trip around the sun away. Glucosamine chondroitin definitely helps.

Yeah the wife says I have a problem, the only problem I see is not enough garage space. I am thinking of selling the xb12 but not real sure yet.

I looked at a house in Thomasville NC. 4 car detached garage, one car detached garage with huge work shop, tall enough to house a truck lift. 2 car attached garage. 1.8 acres. But the house is only 2 BR. Not enough from my family. You'd have to have a lot of Buells and Harleys to start running out of space.
MLS number H453997 if you want to see what I mean. A bit far from J-Ville.

Another great moonlight ride tonight. I hope some others are getting to do some night rides under the harvest moon.

Bishop - Let us know when you are settled in. Kristi is getting in seat time so she will be ready for Buellotoberfest. I told her if she can drag peg on Old Maple Hill road, she can ride anywhere. We have a wide range of riding in the group. Sometimes we go out and are hooligans, sometimes we have the family riding with us and we cruising. I have fun either way. I know Kristi is excited about riding her own and the fact that she has other ladies to ride with.

The "But Seriously" ride was a lot of fun this weekend. U4euh & brina, Old Dog, Webe & family and xl1200c glad to see you all this weekend. The ride to the coast is always a fun ride. When a weekend involves good friends, good food and a good ride, you know you are going to have a good time. It was a shame that it rained us out on Monday. Even though I actually enjoyed the ride back toward U4's spread, I know brina did not. If I knew it was going to be such a rain out, I would have taken her home in the van. Blame the computer upgrade...

Until next and hopefully that will not be too far in the future.

What he said! There are several other C3 ladies that are either beginning to ride or getting back to riding. Either way, it will be nice to have a group to ride with that I don't feel like I'm holding up!

I had hoped to have my first group ride this past Monday, but it rained and I opted to sit at home and watch NCIS all day! Maybe I'll get a group ride in soon. Gotta get some more seat time before Suches!

U4 in answer to 'brina's question / comment

the passage is in Genisis, Ch6 Verses 1-4

it is the beginning of the story of Noah

I enjoyed the thought provoking discussion, she certainly is a bright young lady..

Gotta run L8r

Thanks JIm, havn't seen you in a while! You ok?

Fish-buddy of mine rides an R6 with one of those mounted on his helmet, if you get one make sure it is the wide angle. With it on his helmet you can see from his waist forward, all the way to both sides of the road beside him. Makes for great action video's. I believe his YOUTUBE username is Goosead@yahoo, check out the few vids he has posted

u4, my you tube is http://www.youtube.com/user/fishfutzy

My videos are shot now with a Nikon S52C digital camera. My so did a lot of shooting and "commentary." At times he seemed to think zooming in on the tires was really cool. He zoomed back out in time to see my Jeep start to rollover backwards then safely come back down on all 4 wheels. My wife about killed me when she saw the video because my daughter was in the back seat.
The GoPro will make it so much easier. And with the HD model coming, it will look good on my big TV.

Found your friends page.

I have another 10 years before I can do a trip like that. After the kids are done with college. And hopefully a cure for Crone's is found by then too. My wife can't even take a parking lot speed bump in a car without pain.

Gutz - I put off these trips for a long time because of timing. But I realized it would never be a good time, so I just went. That's why I ride 800 mile days sometimes, there just isn't enough vacation time to take a leisurly pace. But I'm afraid that if I wait till I can take a relaxed pace, I'll never do it.

Crone's sucks, my cousin has had to deal with that for a long time. Hopefully it will be cured soon.

Jim should be heading home via TX any minute. It was great visiting with Jim and Amanda. We hung out in Garden of the Gods and rode up Pikes Peak. Yesterday was a good Buell day.

I have often though about moving home to NC just to be a part of the C3ers.

Frank

J, Got you on the timing thing. My wife kept vacillating on "letting" me by the Buell. I finally went down and wrote a check for the full amount. Two weeks later my daughter dislocated her knee cap so badly she needed open knee surgery. If I had waited until my wife was "sure" I'd never have gotten it.
There are always things that need to get done and bills to be paid. But some times you just gotta make time for fun. Isn't that why its called "earning a living?"
Next time I have to go up to our Boston design center, I'm tempted to ride up and "save the cost of air fare." Of course, with the crappy wet summer they have had, I would definitely have needed my rain suit.

BTW, the last time I was on a motorcycle in Colorado was in 1980. Rode from Lowery AFB up into a tiny little town way up in the mountains on the back seat of a Honda 360T. Froze my but off.

M2nc and I have had a full day today. We started at 8 a.m. with Baylee's soccer practice, then 9 a.m. with Luke's soccer practice. After getting home and having lunch we headed out on the bikes. We rode down to Oriental where they were having a small arts festival. Sat by the water for a while and then decided it was time to head back.

I rode for the first time in rain...yuck! It wasn't long lasting, but the drops were big, cold and hard! I wasn't as white knuckled as I thought I'd be. Can't say as I'd like to do it long distance, but I did survive.

My riding is coming along, even though I'm still blowing some shifts. Practice, practice, practice!

Hopefully we'll be heading out tomorrow after Mass with Noseed, Angela and Webe.

Glad you survived the rain,

by definition a motor cycle is an "Adult Rain Toy",

before long it will dawn on you "hey i have not missed a shift in a while"
it will be like walking it just kinda happens...

I'm ready for that time! In case you've not noticed, I'm impatient! I want to be able to do it right from the get go.

Today Mark and Carlos took me out. Webe had the M2 out in the lead, I was in the middle with Carlos bringing up the rear with the Uly. We ventured down to Fish Camp and took 4 passes or so down Old Maple Hill Road. I had so much fun. Wish we'd had more time.

Each time we stopped I got feedback from both Mark and Carlos. By the last pass, something must of clicked as Carlos said it was the best pass we'd made. Webe set a good pace...he said we were running 50 or so. Beats me, I'm too busy trying to ride to watch the speedo!!

Thanks to Webe and my honeybunch.

Prayer request!
My friend from work, Matt Britt, was in a serious motorcycle accident on Saturday. He lost control of his SV1000 on a turn and hit a tree.
So far the news is not good. He is in the ICU in Wake Forest BMCH. Could go either way at this stage.
I pray that his work is not done yet and rides again.
He is 23 years old. A newly minted engineer and a really big hearted kid.
Please keep him in your prayers. I need more time to get him over to Buell.
