Cool deal man!
I saw you the other morning, as you were coming up to the light on Hughes at 72.
I was in the blue Subaru WRX Wagon going down 72, but you probably didn't notice.

Have fun! And watch out for the power!

Did yo uget it at Rocket?

Damn, I'm jealous! If they had the CR out when I bought my Ss, I'd have gotten one no question!

Yes I got it at rocket on Thursday evening. They were better to deal with than I thought. I told them what i would give and they let me have it for what i offered. They werent to happy i didnt finance it through their bank but harley bank intrest rate is silly. It is a beat of a machine. I love it. I been wanting one for a year but my faithful white XB is still in drive.

I tried to work with Rocket, but they didn't want to deal. I ended up buying from Stone Mountain HD in ATL. My 09' Ss was $9995 OTD. I wonder what they would do on an 1125X?

I already had a deal in the works when i went into rocket that day so i was determined to stay with the price i already had from the other dealer or lower. I got my new 09 red 1125r out the door paying everything for 13000 which was a thousand less than they really wanted to do.

Personally, I have found that Rocket usually seems more than willing to deal with you. Is it because they already have a substantial markup on their bikes? I know that they do on the used ones, so it has been easy for me to do a price drop haggle with them.

I will say that the last time I went there, the sales manager stopped and talked with me for a bit and asked how my new(ish) bike was treating me. I told him that it was fantastic! Not only that, but I then mentioned to him that no one in the shop realized that I had the Buell Racing Kit on the bike (which goes for around $700 used on Ebay), and that I got an awesome deal. He then walked away looking like he'd eaten something sour. It's kind of nice that they don't really know what they have in the Buell section. : )

yall missed a great weekend. I really needed it to. I got rained on every morning and every evening coming home but when i got across lacon mt it was a different world. It was nice and sunny with highs in 80 each day. I had good time at the race but was dissapointed in the buell performance. I am a litte pissed at AMA right now with them adding 5 pounds of weight to the 1125 cause it was winning. Hate yall missed it.

Any of you folks going to bike night tomorrow??

I am going, weather depending. If we go, we should "try" to park together if possible... yeah, right, I know..

I will figure out what time I will be heading out by tomorrow afternoon.

Hey Eric,
The Nesba website that I told you about is www.nesba.com.

There is a link at the bottom right of the home page that says "Free Orientation". That is how to get to register for the free intro track day with them.

The one I am doing is on June 27th.

I am in the clear for the Sunday ride. So I will see you at Sonic at 10 am.
Good meeting you today.

Hey Eric,
Hope you made it up to Cinci safely.

It was good riding with you.

Let me know if you are going to make it to the track day in June, maybe we can pit together.

Hey, any of you guys want to assist me in setting up my suspension for my up-coming track day?

It basically takes 2-3 folks, plus the rider. Need two to hold the bike up, one to measure while the rider is on.

I have a great form for setting up the correct measurements.

I put the invite out on the TVSC mail list... but for some reason nobody seems interested in helping.

We can set up your bike as well if need be.

Let me know, and we can figure out a time.

Hey Russell, Here is another link that may be helpful. I used these guidelines to set up my 1125R.http://www.moto-racing.co.uk/Guides/motorcycleSusp ensionSetup.htm
I am still planning to go to Barber for the track day you posted about. If you need any help just let me know. I am not riding then, just going to be going.

Great article Steve!
Thanks for that.

I am planning on going down to Barber that friday night, camping, then running the morning intro session. The rest of the day depends on the "CFO".

N2xb12s,

Lived in Huntsville, bought my uly there, serviced it there once, and then started taking somewhere else...they weren't bad mind you, just not overly interested in Buells. I got the distinct feeling that their interest ended as I signed the sales contract. My personal opinion anyways.

Stone Mtn is not too far from you over near hotlanta. They are really into Buells...great guys, very knowledgeable, and will work with you. If you call ahead and set it up, you can ride over, get the service while you wait, and ride home. Rocket is not going to do it same day...at least not that I saw (had a harley before my buell, so I had more than one experience).

Another place is the HD dealer just south of Nashville. Very good guys there too, very knowledgeable. Same deal, ride up, get service, ride home. Now that I've moved I've actually forgotten their name!

Russ, what's the name of the dealership up there???

Hope this helps....

By the way, we'll be home next week for 3 weeks vaca. My dad sold his harley, and has serious leanings towards a Uly : ) ...I intend to "convince" him while there...

The dealer south of Nashville is Bumpus in Murphreesboro. They are a great Buell shop.

I have to agree with everyone else rocket probably wont do it the same day. I havent had any real bad experience with them but I hate waiting and last time I went in there I wanted most of a day the day after I bought my 1125R for them to move a wire that was to close to the exhaust. I have started doing all my service and work I can.

+1 On what both Flyor and Firemedic said.

You will get MUCH better service at either Stone Mountain HD/Buell, or Bumpus.

I think Stone Mountain will be closer to you.

If you take it to Rocket, you will probably need to drop it off, and wait for them to call you to come get it. It could be next day... it could be next week.

Or, you could do the service yourself, and save yourself a TON of money. A service manual is relatively cheap, and pays for itself VERY quickly.
If I remember, they are about $40 - $50?

And doing the service will not void your warranty as long as you keep the records of it (reciepts for parts, mileage it was done, what was done, etc.).

On other news:
Well... Unfortunately I won't be going to the track day on Saturday... Thanks to my HVAC unit at home.
It died on Monday, got fixed today... and took all of my track day money.. BLAH!

I know the track day was free... but the money involved in getting down there, staying overnight, eating, etc. As my daughter would say, "All gone Daddy!"

Oh well.}

I'll have to see what I can do for a future track day coming up... Maybe July, or maybe September.

I can't believe I forgot Bumpus!!! A unique name and a great dealership...all this norwegian language learning is clouding my already limited mind : )

----

Bummed you're missing the track day Russ...track days are a big deal over here...so much so I'm seriously thinking of getting something vintage for the sole purpose of track riding...should be a hoot (and save me some cash over here )

I think a track bike would be an awesome thing to have.. I'm just sayin...

I have to be careful.. if I have too much fun at the track, I may end up trying to sell the buell to get one... or turning the buell into one.

I am going to try to re-schedule for September at Talley-gp
