Author Message   Thepod Posted on Monday, July 06, 2009 - 09:07 pm:        Members, I light of the disaster that was the Portland Road Runners ride this weekend, and something that xbswede and I have talked about. How does everyone feel about using some club money to buy a set of communicators that could be used for the lead and sweep guys. Just a thought, but the chatterbox units are $150 each and there is a "student headset" $35 that can be easily removed from a helmet and placed in another. Do tell! I'm up for a discussion on buying a set of communicatirs, I see a real opertunity to have the ride leader and sweep rider able to communicate. We'd need a set with good range, and we'd have challenges with large groups that split into multiple groups. If we bought a set would multiple people be able to talk or are we limited? I seem to have encountered more situations as of late where it would be very beneficial to be able to be able to keep track of the group without the front rider having to constantly wonder whats going on. It works great for two people, but the range is only 1000 feet.
