Was a pretty good day overall. The weather was decent..could have been warmer near my home....but at least rideable. Had dinner at Joes Crab shack with the wife & daughters..delicious.

Tomorrow is supposed to be decent weather also. Mid 50's again & then crappy for the rest of the week. Gonna get some more riding in.

I got out and took a short ride. I hadn't done a thing to winterize the bike so Friday I started the bike just to make sure the battery had juice. It was all good. This morning I installed this piece that is supposed to make the clutch easier to pul back. I found it on Ebay. The instalation was easy and the piece made a difference. Usually my left hand is killing me on the first ride of the year, it was all good today. I stopped by Hals with the wife and sat on a XB12r. She hopped on the back and immediately complained about the seat. I think she is spoiled with the backrest on my Corbin. We did look at a nice Road King also. Gotta do some more bikes with graphics for Daytona to buy one I think.

Out driving around yesterday in the cage. Lots of bikes out. In less than 30 miles I saw at least 5 stupid moves in traffic by rusty riders on a variety of bikes. Three of them were near collisions that would have been the fault of the duds on the bikes.

Oh well, Spring isn't far off, and todays rains should help the salts/chems get washed off the roadways.

On a side note, I saw one interesting and sweet looking BMW go past on the freeway. Have to follow up on that and see what it was, wasn't the dual-sport, and don't think it was the 650. Oh well, back to the circular world of work, system down on one side, IT out sick, one boss out sick, another boss fed up, and life goes on.

Got out for 45 minutes yesterday: D It was great to just drop in the battery, give the throttle a couple of twists, hit the button and BOOM!!!

just kidding on the BOOM: ). Started on the first try

All the more reason why I did't take the bikes out. Too many shiny parts on both to risk ruining the finish and my investment. Must admit I wish I had a dirty street bike to ride in these conditions. LOL

Hahaha! Washed mine in early November but didn't cover them this winter.

The "California Duster" works well combined with the Honda Spray Cleaner/Polish. However, with more freezing weather on the way, I don't want to hook up the hose yet to flush the bikes off after riding in the salt/chems. Plus a bucket and sponge just doesn't work as well.

Ergo, I was thinking of a KLR650 that is supposed to look dirty and beat. Not to mention, it is fun to slide around in all the sand on the roads.

Hey All...

If you or anyone you know is looking for a "Tuber" in excellent condition, All-Pro Motorsports has quite a few M2's, an S1, an S3 and a Blast. All low mileage with attractive prices.

FYI, I bought my X1 there and am really pleased with the deal I cut. Not to mention Mark Hanrahan (SP?) is one of the best Buell Tech's in the area. I was referred to him by quite a few of KMC HOG members.

Mark has his own dyno with gas analyzer and stocks his own inventory of parts. What he doesn't have, he gets from the local dealers usually the same day. Mark also installed all my performance upgrades and dyno tuned my bike to perfection.

So if you know of anyone looking for a Tuber or wanting some performance upgrades, I recommend All-Pro Motorsports without reservation.}

Koz...All-Pro is on 164, just south of 59. They have a XR650L that interests me for a SuperMoto conversion.

Of interest, Road, Track and Trail is just a few miles south of there just east of 164 on ES (National). They have a CBR XX that I want to go see.

I have been to both places. I didn't know All Pro worked on Buells. I am looking at having my cams upgraded and maybe some head work done.

Bill,
Any idea what their price ranges are? And if they're taking them in on trades?

Koz...Mark is excellent. I almost bought his 1995 Anniversary Edition Ultra Glide last year and in retrospect wish I had. The bike was immaculate and the engine was totally rebuilt for both performance and reliability. You would not believe the material list of parts he used in making the perfect Muscle Tourer. It was to die for.

Mark primarily does maintenance and performance upgrades. If you are referring to installing something like a Nallin kit, I would recommend him highly. He also does the final tuning and tweaking for a number of local engine builders. My best suggestion is to call him and arrange a time where the two of you can meet to discuss your plans. He will work with you and provide you with alternatives that you may have overlooked.

Additionally, feel free to use me as a reference as I am very satisfied with both All Pro's sales/service staff and will be buying more bikes from them. You know how picky I am and what a pain in the ass I can be. So trust me when I say there are only two places in town that I want working on my bikes. Hal's and All Pro are my picks depending on what I want done.

Mike...If I remember correctly the prices ranged from $4.0 to $6.0k for all but the Blast. They buy bikes from various sources as well as taking bikes in on consignment and on trade. They work on a slim margin but don't be afraid to negotiate.

Letting them sell your bike on consignment would probably be your best alternative unless you feel you are getting a good bottom line with your trade in.

Get blocked from the board at work and it takes like a week to even begin to catch up on 5 or 6 days worth of blabbering.

Well after four years, the internet filters at work finaly got smart enough to block out BADWEB. Either that or there was so many hits from "one" computer that they selectively blocked it out. This is gonna SUCK. I'll try to stay as caught up with things as I can on the board. Feel free to e-mail me with anything important that I'm missing.

Well I get out riding this past weekend too, but it wasn't on two wheels. It was really weird snowmobiling when it was 50 degrees outside. Trails were very nice and nobody was on them.
Snowmobile's are fun, but they still don't corner for shit when your used to a Buell or to any bike for that matter.

I Also shot at, and actually hit, some pheasants this past weekend with my new shotgun. Now I have some tasty birds in my freezer. Actually I have been thinking of having a "wild game" night. I've got venison, rabbit, pheaseant, and salmon in my freezer just waiting to be grilled up. Stay tuned for details on this one.

Since I have a new toy, and we have talked about this one in the past. Who would like to have a little Braggin' rights trap shooting tournament? (then we can stop in at our "top secret" food spot)

There is a public shooting range down near Eagle that has nice facilities that we can use. We can make it fun for ourselves. Or we can sign up for a round of "sporting clays"

Cost on the trap shooting would be $12.00 + ammunition. (I'll supply the clay pigeons)
Cost on the "sporting clays" is $15.50 + ammunition for a 50 bird round.

If your interested speak up and we'll go have some fun.: ): ) After we can agree on a date, time etc. I'll set up everything.

Jerry

Never done any clay pigeon shooting, but am willing to try.

Have 12 gauge, will travel.

Dumb question of the week, what size shot is recommended for this?

And what are sporting clays?

I am game on the trap shoot and have always wanted to try sporting clays. Problem is I sold my shotgun. So I am in there if I can borrow one. Remington 1100 with 28" med choke vented barrel would be great, but anything will work.
