Here's the plan. Dave Stueve (Daves) HD/Buell Cycle Center Harley sales Buell sales Mgr Waterloo BRAG club Director BattleMaster Waterloo Ia is coming to Orlando for the dealers' meeting. We'd like to have a get together with him and his fellow Iowans(?) Saturday (Jan. 24). Let's meet at the Orlando HD/Buell dealership at 7:00 for a short ride and dinner. This is long distance planning but is anyone interested in riding up to Barber Motorsports Park, Birmingham, Alabama for the AMA Superbike event May 14-16, 2004. This will be a good scouting trip for the USGP in 2005 and a chance to checkout the largest motorcycle museum in the world. Details are open to discussion but probably leave Wed, ride to AL, get into Birm Thurs by lunch, ride out after the races on Sunday arriving home Monday afternoon. Trip is roughly 600-700 miles from Orlando depending on how scenic you want the drive. (from MotoGP.com) "The Barber Motorsports Park had an excellent year in 2003. The facility hosted two very successful spectator events culminating with the AMA Honda Superbike Classic, which attracted approximately 50,000 spectators. Development of the facility was completed with the grand opening of the Barber Vintage Motorcycle Museum, the largest motorcycle museum in the world. Overall, the venue has received extremely high marks and we are very excited about the potential of this facility. With regard to MotoGP, we are confident that this facility would be an excellent location for a U.S. Grand Prix. We will continue our discussions with Dorna for a 2005 event and hope to have closure in the Spring of 2004." Davefl, Soree you couldn't make it, but let me ask you this, have you ever been to Buddy-Bi-Rite's located on the south side of Hwy/60 in Clearwater about 3 miles west of US/19? If you find yourself wrestles tonight around eleven, 11pm, BuelChris and I will be there, along with about 50 to 100 other bikes. | ||

Daves' visit I've checked with some people and did some restaurant scouting and think this might be our destination (racerock.com). Lots of motorsports items to look at, all different types of food and ~10 miles from Orlando HD/Buell. West of town too so people coming from Lakeland BRAG will have a slightly shorter ride home. Tampa Bay Riders, had I checked here before my wife and I rode today we might have connected. As it was we rode to Barney's on Gandy to pick up some gloves she ordered, then to Jim's HD and Cycle-Rama to visit friends. We'll keep an eye out here and try this again soon.  | ||

i know this is a long shot... but im coming to florida next week and was hoping to rent a bike. I know Im not gonna have much of a chance to rent a buell and I dont care for a harley. anyone know of a place that rents sportbikes? | ||

Jim's HD in St Pete has XB's for rent. If you go there ASK for special rates. 727-527-9672 and ask for the rental dept. Good Luck! Roads are kind boring around here though. | ||

actually its largo that im going to.. You mean my 'hood, my backyard, or at least very close. You will be approximately halfway to either Fletcher's or Jim's HD. See my above post. Brian is the rental manager at Jim's. He knows me and mentioning my name probably won't help but they do have several rates. You need to ask for rental options. He did own the X1 that is in my profile pic after we sold it. I think he's on an XB now. I can be reached at 727-460-2708. Leave a mesage if needed, that is my cell and I always carry it. I just can't always answer it right away. Don't forget to stop at the Harley/Buell Horsepower shrine.....AKA Cycle-Rama....not far from where you'll be. | ||

Davefl Hey man sorry I did not get back to you sunday. I was pretty much out of it that whole day. Anyway I went to the Givi site and took a look at the A760. I think thats the one you where talking about. If that is, it is a little bigger than what I was thinking of. I personally like the looks of the A755. |
