Hey Guys,

A few months ago, a Marine buddy handed me a business card and said,"Give this guy a call. He may be selling his Buell."

So now, months later, I run into this very guy at Barnes and Noble at the Starbucks stand. HE'S GOT A 95 S-1! Holy crikey, it's like fate! Everything I want is already on it. Corbin seat, carbon exhaust, PM wheels, you name it! And only about 3500 original mi.

I gotta sell something! The truck, the boat, I don't care! This is my bike man! I gotta find a way to get it. Wish me luck.

Charlieboy,
'95 S1? No such thing.
1995-1996 S2 thunderbolt (stock sportster motor)
1996 S1 Lightning (stock sportster motor)
1997 S1 Lightning (lightning heads, slight power increase)
1998 S1W White Lightning (Thunderstorm heads, hotter cams, considerable power increase
1999- X1 models replaced the S1, X1's have fuel injection and new body style.
1999- M2 and S3 models introduced.

1995 was the last year that Buells were "handmade" or built by hand, one at a time.
Harley bought the company in 1995 and started mass producing them in 1996.
Alot of people seek the 1995 S2 model because it is the last model handmade and one of the best handling Buells ever made.

good luck, I hope you get the bike of your dreams.

I'm not trying to split hairs about the year. I havn't seen it yet. I'm just going by what Mike told me. Although you have dazzled me with your knowledge. I love the looks of that bike, but don't know that much about it. He said he's going to clean it up and charge the batt. so I can ride it. What ever the year is, it sounds good to me! I just know the S-1 is my favorite looking bike and I'm hoping that's exactly what it is.

On another front, I rode a Blast today. It was just that! I couldn't believe how fun that little bike is! When you get on it you can tell right away it's not a barn burner, but it's definitely got THUMP. Especially with the Vance and Hines pipe it was sporting. I'm thinking about buying and selling it to raise $$$ for the S-1. Especially since my friend works at the Nissan dealership where it was traded and can cost it out to me. I hope to sell it on E-bay. Anybody need a Beautifully cleaned up and piped blast???

On a sad note, I noticed the mounting bracket for my chin fairing that came with the new pipe (which was aluminum DUH!) broke today : (. My bike is unridable until the new part is had from Jardine : (.

Have a great day.

Charlie,
you can probably have one of your buds in a maintenance shop tig weld it for you.

Them Blasts are neat little bikes, but there are a ton of them out there on eBay. They make good starter bikes and lots of folks are moving up, and then selling theirs. the market may be flooded with them, be careful you don't get stuck with it.

I agree with you on the S1's being one of the best looking. they are simple and sweet. i really love mine. good luck, I hope you can find a way to acquire it.

if you are looking to get more then 2500 for the blast you are asking to much. I sold my brand new blast back to the dealer that acquired from my ex wife and only got 2500 for it and it had 350 miles on it. STUPID me
It was fun but lacked a bit of everything to ride. The first time I went around the corner in the neighborhood I drug the right side in the turn....No clearance...
But how much are you looking to sell your for????????? I may have a little lady interested...
Cheers

Hey Bart,

Good Idea, Jim's said they'd weld it for me until the new part has arrived. At least it will be ridable again.

As far as the price on the Blast DB, I don't even know what I'm getting it for yet. I'm supposed to get a call today. But I'll let you know as soon as I find out. I was thinking $3000. This bike is immaculate. I'm all about getting it to you at a good price. I just knew I could get it off that lot and to someone who would love it. Hell, I'd ride it if I could afford multiple bikes. I had fun on that thing!

I was thinking some Cafe racer style bars and some rearsets might help cure the riding position preference.

Charlie,
If the guy is a good welder, have him weld a thicker tab on the pipe so it won't be prone to breakage in the future. That's what I did to my V&H stainless pipe for the S1. I welded a larger and thicker tab on it, and it's holding great!

Good news all around...

Jim's is done with the weld, thanks Bart.

The newly re-designed (others have had the same problem) steel mount is en-route, thanks Jardine.

And the bank said yes! Thanks NFCU! My wife and I can now proudly proclaim that we can go riding together! We're so excited. Now we'll fight over who gets to ride the Bolt and who rides the blast! LOL. Funny story, when we test rode the Blast, I rode it. We stopped at a light and this guy looked at me funny. I knew what he was thinking so I said, "We just traded for a while... That's my bike she's on." He smiled as if to say, "Suuuurrrrrreeeeeee."

Good Kharma right now. I hope you all get some of it. Especially you Mr. Happy Hour. I'm on Staff Duty right now : ( No beers for me...

Charlie,
You should hold out on the blast and go for the Tuber!!! You'll only be whining in a few weeks how you want more power, better handling, etc. Give AL a yell, and check out his X1, hell, he might even deliver it to you. Or look around for an S1W. I think Brian (tucsonXB9s) knows where there may be one for sale.

Wycked,
I don't think anyone is going for any rides this weekend besides me. I've got a sweety coming in From NM, we're going to go down to Sonoita on Sunday. (supposed to rain tomorrow)
We all seem to fall apart when one goes out of town, AL is down in Mexico getting balled, I mean, having a ball! I think we may have wore out the crowd we took out last weekend. Or maybe they can only ride one day out of the month.

Last weekends relapse put me a week behind. I really would have rather been out riding last weekend with you guys then dealing with the ER. Oh well no biggie, enjoy your ride and have fun on your bike too.

Bart, the Blast is a temp bike to buy and sell so I can raise $$$ for a tuber. I really can't wait to see this guys S-1. I hope it's an S-1 (See previous post). At the price we're paying for the Blast, we're sure to sell it at a profit...

Never fear, we'll soon be blazing the asphalt together someday soon on our TUBERS.

Bart,
What's up with you today?
My S3 is running good now with the new battery, still needs an air cleaner though. Gonna clean it up nice today. I don't think anyone has an air cleaner in stock or I would by today! Anyone out there in Tucson listening?
Maybe I will get lucky and be able to ride tomorrow.
Art.....

Check this out guys.... Went to Arroyo Seco in NM today to find out the track day is tomorrow. But me and 3 others did the same thing. So i called ole'Roger up and said hey the hell... He said I will come and open the track up for you guys because we were going to clean and work anywayz... So we paid to rent the track 100 a piece to have the track to our selves, and I mean to our selves.. I even drove my 2003 altima, ( not your normal nissan) on the track,, it was nice... But we got winded out and called it a day around 2pm. Roger came over and said anyone who comes back tomorrow can run for free for the track day...

HOW COOL IS THAT??????

The XB9R did well and logged at least a 100 miles....Both ways around the track counter/clockwise.....
I think my breaks are done up front and my clutch is slipping... Any of you Buellers have an idea for a proper clutch replacement that will last, let me know...
TALLY HO

Till tomorrow when I get home again.....
Oh yes it is funny how my little 900 will stay with the big boys( ZX12R ) through the twisteeeeeeesssss

Later

Get a BARNETT clutch, they are one of the best.
Strong and Durable. I used them when I was drag racing without a hitch.

that New Mexico track is a nice one. I've spent alot of time on that track since I'm from Las Cruces.

Charlie,
sorry to hear the fix didn't hold. Bummer!

On a better note, It was another Beulltiful weekend in Southern Arizona, and my partner and I took full advantage of it. I couldn't resist the offer to ride up to hwy 191 with my friend, she has ridden that road on the back of a Harley, and couldn't wait to feel what it was like on the back of a Buell. I was sort of hesitant to take the S2 since I've only got about 300 miles on the new Nallin motor. But it's all I've got with a back seat. The ride went great, the bike performed great, (as did the passenger)

there was snow up in them thar mountains though, and it got pretty chilly, and a little icy in some spots. It sure was nice to pull into Hannigans Meadows and see the smoke from that wood stove!!! After a couple of warm ones, we headed into Showlow for a night in the hot tub to warm up the 'ol bones. he he he
The ride back today was just as enjoyable. Coming down out of the mountains, there was snow on the sides of the road, but the road was dry and clear. Salt river canyon was a blast, and the Nallin motor just hummed away, pulling us faster and faster up and out of the canyon.
I did manage to slow the beast down in time to smile at the Indian cops on the south side of the rim. ha ha ha, I knew they would be there, they are ALWAYS there! A quick lunch in Globe and it was blasting time down the back way through Winkelman, San Manuel, and on into Oracle where we stopped for a few cold ones.

All in all, a great riding weekend! Sorry y'all missed it!
