Yeah, let somebody else do it! Hehe j/k. But seriously. Adjust the cable adjuster almost all the way in then tighten the screw in your primary to where there's little slack. Kinda hard to explain I guess. |

I loosen the clutch all the way out (the nut under the rubber "accordion"). Then take of the clutch inspection cover. Remove the spring and nut. Tighten the exposed screw (in the center) until it bottoms out. Do not over tighten this. Back it off a quarter of a turn. Re-install nut and spring. Re-install inspection cover. adjust clutch play so that it engages where you like it on cable. (I believe it is supposed to be around a sixteenth of an inch of play. I like it with about an eight) Re-install accordion / rubber boot. all done. then again.... maybe you shouldn't listen to me. my clutch cable broke. either way (whether you listen to me or not), be sure to lube the swage (where the ball at the end of the cable hooks into the lever). |

no broken cable. Just bottomed the clutch out is all. No biggie. Nothing duff couldn't handle. LOL Hey darkwing. What u mean smithers can't handle ur bike? I've gotten 2 tires done there? Do they not have the tire you want? Or are you trying to ride in there and have them take ur wheel off for you? I take my wheel off and bring it into them to have the tire put on. |

PM me if you got questions on removing ur tire. Hell. I'm curious why smithers won't remove ur wheel? It's so easy even I could do it! All u need is a stand. |

i think the stand is the issue, it uses a normal stem mount, but i think its a weird pin, i think a #7? i was going to buy one my self and just carry in wheels like a normal bike, but i havent had the funds as we are yet to see our summer rush |

Are you popping off the front tire? I have pit-bull stands and the front pin is a #2. Or at least thats the pin that is in the front pit-bull stand for my bike. |

ya i guess that damn "race" muffler looks sturdy enough lol. i was thinking using rachet straps and picking it up at the clips, and using the i-beam of the garage, tho it dont totally like that idea either, im also looking for firebolt rear pegs and bracket and bolts if anyone gots em. more news on the great stealerships in the area!!! as you might remember, I am sans bike because of a broken clutch cable. I called fail's and riverfront last week; both of which didn't have cables in stock. But Riverfront did say, call back on Tuesday, May 26... because they were going to start stocking them. I called Topeka HD on Sat the 23rd (thinking I would take the short drive in the truck) to see if they had any in stock. Of course... they didn't. Called Riverfront yesterday... and guess what. No clutch cables. They said the Holiday backed up shipping by "about a week" and were not expecting them to arrive until next Tuesday. At which point I hung up the phone, called Al at American Sport Bike, and promptly ordered a cable, cable stay, o ring, and a set of Ferodo brake pads. Problem solved. (Anyone ever used the Ferodo's?) To hell with these local cats. Parts are supposed to be here Friday. See you on the streets this weekend (assuming I don't break the damn cable installing it). |
