Just wanted to give a big thank you to Tom Bumpus and his crew for putting on a great event last weekend. I got to ride a City X, Lightning Long, Uly XT and a Firebolt. I love my Blast, and have no plans to get rid of it, but the big Buells were amazing. I've been wondering what I want next, hope to have my finances in order in time for the 2010 models. I think I'm going for the XT, it was a great ride. They were all fun in their own way. My main goal is some long distance get aways with the wife, the XT would be perfect. I loved the Lightnings, they were fun too. When I first climbed on the Firebolt, I wasn't so sure I'd like it. I felt cramped at first, but when we hit the curves, I forgot all that. It felt like it was on rails. I want one of each.  | ||

Well, I trailered the bikes down last week and put them in storage. Currently waiting to close on the house, should be moved in the first week of May up on Signal Mountain. Can't wait to hit those switchbacks on the way to work... | ||

i posted this on the XB bored as well but i though i might post it here too just incase maybe yall can help. after my last oil change (i serviced it myself) evidently i didn't tighten my chin fairing bolts up as tight as i should have. the bolts have vibrated out and now i only have two left holding the chin fairing in place. the Bumpus dealership in murfreesboro tn couldn't sell me the bolts without also selling me a new chin fairing. i dont need the dang fairing, just the bolts! im worried im gonna lose the whole fairing going down the road. does annyone know where i can buy the bolts? P.S.they are also the same bolts that hold our airbox covers on. | ||

Chuck: IIRC they are 1/4-20 shoulder bolts. I know for a fact that they have their own part number so they can be purchased by themselves. I would talk to Steve S. the service manager or, Dave St. Clair or, go right to Tom, he has been very receptive. I do have some SS 1/4-20 button head screws you can use in the mean time if they right one's need to be ordered. Let me know I'm just up 231 on the North end of Lebanon. Neil S. |
