I think I still may have the original diagram they gave me when I bought my Throttle Miester, I'll have to check when I get home. For some reason I am thinking that there was a friction sleeve in there but I am not sure.

I've found several postings of the installation instructions for other bikes and will try an install this week or weekend sometime. If you'll be at Thursday's meeting and find it maybe I can get a photocopy of the instructions for Buells.

rats, I hate it when I deal in broken toys . . ..

sorry for the troubles, Mike

and, yeah, 2105 is likely more on target for Brag members getting inot the HOG site . . .further ammunition for the argument that they'll merge the groups altogether?

I log into the hog members site every couple of months just to see whats up. As Bill stated, the difference between that & Brag is like night & day. Hard to believe they are the same company.
The Brag portion of the Buell site has a very amaturish look to it.

Bomber...have no clue why it would take so long. I called to register with HOG, mentioned I was current BRAG and they just used the same number. I was into the members only website a few hours later. Possibly could have been sooner but that is how long I waited before trying.

Translation: I don't understand the delay other than them perhaps wanting to integrate the the two sites into one. Heck in the interim, they could allow you access to the HOG site as it is linked to BRAG. The BRAG events are listed in HOGS website, however, when you click on them for more info it shoots you over to BRAGS portion of the Buell website which is really lacking in the detail.

MikeJ. Will look anything up for you on the HOG site. Plus, you got mail at the address in your profile.

Hello All,

A reminder that Brew City will have it’s next meeting on Thursday February 12th.

We have been asked by National BRAG to help plan some ride routes for the upcoming Buell Homecoming in June. We will be working with Uke’s BRAG club on this and it is sure to be a good time. Lots of riding

For those of you who have not been to a meeting lately, Hal’s has extended it’s 10% discount that the KMC chapter receives to Brew City. This will be extended to all CURRENT members of Brew City. Please renew with Brew City by the March meeting so we can get a current membership list to Hal’s. If you cannot make a meeting by March, please contact me and we will get you fixed up. (As a side note, the discount will change in the future. However, it will change for both the KMC chapter and Brew City respectively)

Topics of discussion for this month will be:

Membership information

Buell Homecoming ride planning

Group riding safety video

"sorry for the troubles, Mike "

What troubles? Monkeying with it yesterday gave me something to do since my work system is connectivity impaired at the moment, was actually fun to play with and learn how it goes together and comes apart. Haven't tried to install it on the bike yet, and when I do Butler is just 5 minutes down the road if I find I need something for it. Absolutely no troubles at all. I just sometimes get lost in the information gathering process, which I often enjoy very much, so again no troubles at all.

"Plus, you got mail at the address in your profile."

Will check email this morning. Note: changed my profile pic this morning, don't have coffee in your mouth if you click it. ; )

Jerry,
I'll probably bring the trailer wheel hub along. Looking like I'll make the meeting unless illness intercedes, and there's a flu bug in the neighborhood.
In discussion topics you forgot one, career update. ; )

Still on the fence.

On the other big topic, We got to see our baby for the first time yesterday at an ultrasound. I was floating on air all day, and I am in love. Wow what a great feeling.

Its Funny,

I have three kids that absolutely LOVE the dirt bikes but the youngest really don't like it all that much.

All four have been riding them since they were old enough to realize what brakes were and how to apply them!!!

The two above are my two oldest boys.

Thanks Newfie...That looks like a lot of fun. Only had two stepdaughters and they weren't into bikes.

I miss the thrill of riding offroad and will be getting another DP Bike soon. Not many trails around here open to MC's but there is a large network of ATV only trails in the southern half of Wisconsin.

All the good MC trails are up north. Seems the one's in the southern half of the state are patrolled and the DNR hides in the bushes with radar guns. Think the speed limit is 35mph.

Not exactly what I am used to but, it will provide more than enough grins to make it worth the price of admission. LOL

Your Kidding,

Speed Limits off Road - BWHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Bill,

Last August when I was catching the boat in North Sydney, Nova Scotia to go to Port-Aux-Basques I met up with a group of guys from New Brunswick who had trailered their ATVs to the Ferry Terminal. They unloaded the bikes and enough gear for a week and Marine Atlantic let them drive the ATVs right onto the boat. There is a trail that runs right across the island which used to be the old railway line. Back in the late 80s the Newfoundland and Canadian Govt decided that Railway Maintenance in Newfoundland was becoming too expensive so they removed all the tracks and opened it up to bikes, hikers, ski-doos etc, etc.

So you can get off the boat in Port-Aux-Basques travel across the island then catch the boat in Argentia to go back to the mainland.

Back when I had the KLR650 I used to ride the old rail bed quite a bit - was lots of fun.

Of course Newfoundland is full of old woods roads, logging roads and general areas where you can operate a bike and rarely cover the same ground twice. The only place the ATVs are not allowed is on the marsh lands.

One little, two little, three little Jerry's...

Yep, we all know that tune. Wonder how many little Jerry's there will be before Diane makes him sleep in the dog house. LOL

I'm jealous folks. I had a great experience with the stepdaughters, but it just isn't the same.

Newfie...

Yep, speed limits and radar on the trails. Wisconsin needs all the revenue they can get. LOL Actually think it is due to the trails being multi-purpose as you noted. MC's, ATV's, Horses, Bicycles, Hiker's, etc...

All the old railroads have been graded and resurfaced for bicycles. In the early 1970's we had what was called the Wisconsin Bikeway. Don't know if it is still in existence, but ran 300 miles from La Crosse to near Milwaukee. We (Vagabond Ski Club) used to take the train on Friday night from Milw to LC with our bikes and have folks meet us at the end Sunday evening for transportation back home.

Wisconsin's upstate offroad riding is the same as you described as there is lots of logging and woods roads plus a national park trail network up there.

Miss the KLR650 and that is the bike of choice for me. A real do everything bike and bullet proof besides. Mountain trails, open desert, canyon twisties, construction sites, urban assault vehicle, etc. Had an FJ1200 at the same time. Lots of my friends were similarly equipped and we rotated bikes every weekend. Tons of fun.

Funny thing is, I was going to buy a KLR650 that I had looked at two days prior when I got the X1. Seems the KLR sold and they just got the X1 in. Took it for a test ride and bought it on the spot with just under 500 miles on the odometer.

Dyna...I know the feeling. I have two cousins with kids. Total of two boys and three girls. I get the kids anything that is noisy and annoying for Christmas each year.

Actually, I do it to piss off my cousins for not inviting me over more than once a year for the Holidays. But, the kids like me!!!

Can't wait until next Christmas. I am going to really get them back for giving Di and I this friggin' flu. Thursday will be the end of our sixth week with this crap and we are still dying. Grrrrrr!!!
