And don't forget that they only have 200 employees... And Jramsey, most parts on the buells are sourced into American companies. But they are still not immune to outsourcing. Heard that from erik buells mouth. | ||

just to clear it up.. Gail's isnt buying riverfront.. worth harley north is.. ya its all one family,..but like i said we will see.. Found out today that Kent will still be in the service dept. Ralph will be sales still and Elliott from parts is moving up to GM to take Eli's place who went to Topeka. But we all know things can change.. | ||

The fact that they picked Rotax seems kinda random to me...I know HD couldnt do the engine but why Rotax??...maybe I just dont know enough about engine manufacturers lol | ||

The company that owns Topeka H-D also owned Riverfront H-D, and Letko Cycle in Lenexa...Why not just move those Buells to a sport bike shop? Where the Buell riders won't have to wade through all those leather clad doctors and lawyers to talk to someone who understands cornering, and the actual weight of chrome plated parts??? | ||

You would think it would only make sense to do that! I think there would be a conflict in manufacturers. We were thinking with HD's recent buyout of MV Augusta that the Buells would be carried in those dealerships as well? | ||

Rat, '99 and up tuber swing arms and mount blocks were made in Italy along with the XB frames/swing arms....along with some of the 1125 pieces. Showa suspension components and Nissin braking components are Japanese manufacturing companies. How about the Made in China wheels? You guys have it made, I have to go 200 miles round trip for oem oil filters for my tubers but........... its a nice ride and I pick up four at a time. | ||

Letko used to be the Ducati dealer in Kansas City, KS up on something like Parallel off where I-435 is now. After Denny moved to CO Mike opened Riverfront as an SRO so it may not be able to be sold as a separate entity. | ||

THD also owns Cycle Zone, the Topeka KTM Artic Cat dealer. Gails would likely have a problem with Letko selling Buells; protected franchise area and all. Per Eli Topeka may again start handling Buell bikes and parts again. At least with Eli there someone will know something about Buells. I do believe that the Buell filter is a Sporster filter so all HD dealers have them. Totally off topic The April 6 Heartland track day has been rescheduled for April 20th. | ||

I like the CR headlight and fairing. The tires look cool too. I would not find much use for knobbies on the Uly, however. I learned my lesson with that already and bought a dual sport.  | ||

You are right.. The Worth/ Riverfront deal is off.. Eli is still staying in Topeka,.Elliott in parts moved up to GM/ Sales with Ralph... They will bring a few Buell bikes and stuff back to the topeka store to even things out some maybe. The rest of the Riverfront staff are staying put. So no big changes all is good here in Lawrence.. | ||

I got a question... anyone ever ride there bike up to Kansas speedway for a race? If so.. where do they park motorcycles at the track? Hope not in the grass with the cars? Just wondering cause ill be going for the Truck and IRL races on the 25th and 26th and would like to ride the ole bolt to the speedway as long as i can park in a good place.. | ||

Well I just got a different ECM so hopefully my bike will be road worthy in the next week or two. My parents are in town all next week so I doubt I will get much garage time. Im up for a BBQ even though im a terrible cook. I will for sure pitch in some money for the food and drinks though. | ||

I was actually thinking of doing the whole gates or bryants type BBQ. But if you guys want to do a home BBQ my place is always good for that. I'll volunteer the spot and I'll even get the burgers and dogs if you guys wanna do it that way. |
