I'd say that time has come and gone...

Just be like Eric - if it hasn't exploded yet...just keep riding it till it does.

Yeah yeah yeah...I'm working on it.

I'll be able to do breakfast but will skip the loop and most likely meet up with ya again at the car show...if you guys actually go to it.

Of course...that's if I get it all assembled and working that is...

You saying the bearing is "INside" the wheel?

How did you do that one?

There is no inner/outer......

There is one "sealed" bearing on each side.

OK! What options do i have, some one told me to do that "ruffing the surface and red loctite" thing but you mention Why not just do it right the first time around? what did you mean by that, see i'm trying to avoid buying a new rim if there's another way tell me about it....Don't be shy!

1.) Buy a used rim

2.) Bring rim to a machine shop and bore out to next bearing size up.

Shouldn't cost more than an hours time in labor.

You may get lucky if the bearing does take with the loctite, but if the bearing was already spinning in the hub when you dismantled it, I really doubt it will work. It is to far gone at that point.

Bottom line is it is your azz in the seat, should it fail while out riding, you risk your azz and also anyone you are ridding with.

I would assume that the show would be over by 3:00ish? Thinking about entering my bike, not 100% sure yet. Don't know if I want to sit around all day- but will most likley be cruising around Sat. evening with my bro. Then heading back north after the show-

Firebolteric- I have posted on NEBO before, most of the time you guys are to busy to respond I quess. Just fiqured that if I was down there, would be a good chance to get some miles in and meet some of you....

Felix,we cannot tell the extent of the damage.Pics please. In the machining biz we use Loctite Retaining compound typically when bearings fit too loose. When we DO use the retaining compound,it's on machinery that runs "around the clock" and works effectively.

Thanks Chippy! I take it most of the rides are on the weekends. I hope some rides are during the week due to that I work weekends! Or I will just have to plan a day off one weekend!

There are a few of us with silly work schedules. Most of the " nebo" rides are Sundays. Breakfast, then the games begin. Stay tuned, and post up if you want in or some company.

flx...if you go the loctite route Gregs list is better than 'red' loctite...loctite is great product no doubt...but they have thousands of products...and you HAVE TO USE THE RIGHT PRODUCT FOR THE APPLICATION!!!

I can't stress that enough!

As far as the list Greg posted...only two of them are 'good' for your particular application #641 or theBearing Mount Stick...all the other stuff is for press fit assemblies...and since your bearing is loose...it's no longer a press fit - those other products are not designed to fill voids found in slip fit applications.

Just be careful...and like Eric said...it's your azz on the seat...but we don't want to see you get killed over a bad decision...Eric reserves rights to front row of watching crashes though...so be careful if he is right behind you

WELL!..I'm looking into #660 seems to be the one that fills in gaps .50mm and has a high strength application and talks about spun bearings I'll try it and keep a close eye on it and if it does'nt work i'll look into probably boring out and installing bigger bearings.
