IAMike, We gotta talk. I've got the green light from Jan to make the trip as long as the $$ hold out. Right now that part looks grim.. the furnace is crapping out. First bid for replacement was $6000!!!! Think I better get a few more bids. Brad

This looks like a great ride, still thinking about jumping on board. Little concerned as I have no long distance riding experience. Besides the ride itself, are there an planned festivals / sight seeing / events? |

I want to see an Iceberg. We don't get them this far south. I want to go to the Easternmost point in North America. I want to see a bunch of Buells rolling around Newfoundland. I hope that the local Harley Dealer has T-shirts with his shop name on them, in size L. |

Ok guys, i am thinking of starting to make reservations for the trip out, so i was hoping maybe we could nail down the date for ferry departure, i know i am being a pain, but hotels in Canada seem expensive, and i want to get the best prices i can, so maybe if we could agree on the ferry departure, everything else could fall into place, so could i see a show of hands for the ferry departure for the 1st of August?? On and unrelated note, we(chicago group) will be kinda camping on the way out, but this type of camping involves a roof, on the plus side, if anybody wants to hook up with us, we will have room(fllor space i think, havent figured out the whole camping cabin thing yet) for 2 more, again this is for the first 2 days, on the 3rd day, you would have to get a room in the same hotel in Bar Harbor, or reall take floor space, or maybe a cot, the reason i am mentioning this is with 4, it reduces the cost even more, but as of now we are OK with what we have come up with this could be really cool, depending on Canadian roads, even if there bad i think it could be a real blast let me know what everyone thinks Roger |

You're coming from Chicago? The roads will be smooth and empty compared to what you're used to. They'll also have a lot more turns Something to remember about hotel and motel prices in Canada is that they're in Canadian Dollars. The U.S. Dollar goes a lot farther up north. |

Ok dull, all you have to do is have 2 weeks, so far it looks like, about $55 bucks to get to Bar Harbor, but than there is the ferry to Yarmouth(155 one way) 3 ferries end up being close to $325, but lodging looks real cheep, especially for 4, KOA cap cabins(i would like a roof in case its raining) not sure about the cost in Newfie land, but i doubt its all that bad, the ferries may be the deal breaker for you guys, but you could ride up and around, and skip the first ferry(the fast Cat) and meet up in North sydney, skipping the one ferry would save like mentioned before about $155, but than again, when are you going to get to ride a ferry in the Atlantic either way is cool, if you want pretty soon we could let you know where we will be each night so you could figure when and what time you would have to leave Roger |

NO MORE CLUSTER FUCK as my friend Spidey has named it!!! I recommend that all be here ON the island for August 1, 2004. That means you get off the boat in Port-Aux-Basques at 6:00am or whenever it arrives that morning. I will meet anyone who is coming there!!!!! From there we will play it by ear on where to go. Spidey wants to do the George Street Festival so we can blast from the Ferry at 6am to St. John's which is about 500miles away. We can then work back across the island!!!! Bill over and out!!! Hey CJ - you planning on coming too |

Cool, maybe we will see you in St John's, but dont bet on it, leaving being on the island by August 1st means 1 of the days would be longer than i care to take, so count me out, but like i said maybe we can hook up in St. Johns for the regatta later Roger |

NO MORE CLUSTER FUCK as my friend Spidey has named it!!! Hey CJ - you planning on coming too Planning on coming to a Cluster F$%) as you boys are calling it ?? That means you get off the boat in Port-Aux-Basques at 6:00am or whenever it arrives that morning. I will meet anyone who is coming there!!!!! And so inflexible, what if that one particular time/day/boat is missed then no one is there on arrival and I'm on my own ??? From there we will play it by ear on where to go. Spidey wants to do the George Street Festival It will be played by ear, well unless Spidey wants, what about what "I" want ??? So in conclusion, am I going ??? NO !! CJ Before anyone gets their panties in a bunch I'm kidding, I'm not going cause it appears to be an all guy thing, I'm not going to be the only gal although it sounds like an awesome trip !!

Chris, It's not an all guy thing. My wife, Terri is going to be riding her Blast. Why has this become a Cluster Fuck? Everybody is trying to figure out how long it's going to take to get there, and how much it's going to cost. Both are important factors when planning a Long Ride. Relax, man; the trip ain't happening for six months. Right now, it's like a shotgun spread - throw everything out there, and see what hits and what misses. Grndskpr, The ferry to and from N.Sydney will be pricey enough; that's why my wife and I going up and around by road. Besides, by going by road, we'll see more and have more fun. I've been to the easternmost point in Australia (Byron Bay), and the Southernmost point of the 48 Contiguous States (Key West), now I'll get to visit the Easternmost point of North America.

This weekend I am attending the 'Hospitality Newfoundland & Labrador' Convention and tonight I have picked up some information regarding the Ferry. Who wants it?? I was also talking to the rep there and she seriously recommends booking as soon as possible for both the trip over and back. Apparently August is their busiest month. NOW, Can we all (with the exception of me as I will be on the Port-Aux-Basques Side patiently waiting) agree to meet at the boat in North Sydney, Nova Scotia for say July 31, 2004 @ 23:30/11:30pm. However you all get there and the time frame from your home will be up to you. Its easy to find and trust me with a bunch of Buells there you'll be even easier to find. If anyone wants to come early then I will give you specific directions on how to find me. Just ask anyone "Do you know the guy with the Silver Buell?, and they will respond "Yeah, thats Bill over in St. John's!!! That way you will arrive at approximately 6:00am so we can start our 'MOST AMAZING ADVENTURE' CJ - no need to worry about the guy thing, Crusty's Wife is coming and sure you fit in like one of the guys. As long as you can burp and belch like Spidey - noooooooooooooo problem Not to mention that real funny face he put on when he drank the screech.
