Hey all....I'm interested in doing a track day this summer. Here are the potential dates:

Aug. 10 or 11 at Road America
Instruction by Sportbike Track Time
$175 for 1 day
$325 for both days

Aug. 21 at Blackhawk
Sept. 18 at Blackhawk
Instruction by Learning Curves
$150 for the day

I'm leaning towards the Road America days because: a) it's Road America; b) it's closer to home; c) it's Road America: )

Any takers???

I got the tank bra for my S2 today. Kinda funny. The first piece of lingerie I ever bought was for my bike, not my woman.

RA is a great track & has some fantastic sections.

Plus the instructors for the RA deal may be a little more 1 on 1 & critique your riding instead of just telling everyone they look great..even the ones who really do suck.

Depends on what you want out of the track. Yes Road America is well known but it is a boring track compared to Blackhawk.
We have 2 track days planned at Blackhawk this year. Aug and Oct. The dates are listed in the Waterloo BRAG storm front.
We are doing these with Edge Racing and I can guarantee that if you come, pit with us,you'll get all the advise you can stand!
We are also doing MAM,Heartland Park and Brainerd this year. I can't wait!
If any of you want to sign up just give me a call!

First track day is at MAM on Apr 19th

Ride to the edge!

I was going to wait until the next Brew City meeting to spill some beans, oh well.

Mary, the ride coordiator at national BRAG, has asked Brew City to come up with several routes on several days for the Homecoming event. Hal's will most likely be doing some sort of function as well. We will be discussing more things at the meeting on February 12th.

Jerry...watch your back. She was working with Uke's on some routes until she started getting nasty with them. I know that Uke's (the dealership and club) has been less than happy with the way they've been treated by the BRAG (especially Mary).

It's just "hearsay" but I'm sure there are a few Uke's BRAG members that would have the real scoop.

If anyone is interested, I can send a copy of the route maps that they used for either the '99 or '00 (don't remember which one) Homecoming. Some great rides spanning from Lake Geneva to Elkhart.

Dennis...If you can, I would appreciate receiving copies of the old maps or route sheet. Format is no big deal as I can follow them on the maps or in the car.

Also, any of the routes and points of interest you remember from your Lake Geneva Day's would be greatly appreciated. I believe Dana will be contacting you for the same info.

"Watch your back?" Oh no, not that again. Makes being an Outrider all that more desirable. You meet the nicest people on the road, enjoy them for the moment and part with no strings attached.

I hear ya ou the Outrider part Bill. The Brag leadership crew isnt what it used to be.

Dave, I wouldnt call RA boring by any stretch. I think turns 5&6 are killer & going thru the trees in the kettle bottoms coming up on & then into canada corner is awesome. Sure Blackhawk is more technical, but there is just something about RA that I prefer.

Dyna...I don't think that there is any problem with National Brag Leadership. I just feel that as there were so many other Homecomings the topic did not receive the attention to detail that it required before making the announcement.

Being in the Hinterland, I presume a lot of assumptions were made that would not have been made for events in other parts of the country. Now, it is time to go back and work out the details after the horse is out of the barn.

I just don't concur with the Hindsight Style of Management. The details should have been worked out before the announcement was made. Had I done that to one of my employers, I would have been collecting unemployment by morning.

The success of the Homecoming quite simply will be a matter of increased communications and cooperation between National Brag, the Dealers and the Local Chapters. Everyone wants it to work and in lieu of the current confusion, I firmly believe it will.

The thing that I was surprised with was that almost all of the events were arranged with seemingly minimal company involvement. I had a good time so I ain't complaining but it is good that Brag is trying to get things arranged now.

The 'hindsight management', yeah we lost a lot of local club support over that patch.
Heck, if I had been more involved in its creation I may also have left. Right now I'm just bailing away trying to rebuild and hoping the rough weather will pass soon.

Tom...Just keep pluggin' along.

Between you, CJ, Jerry and Gerry you can build a strong club. Recruitment and retention isn't easy and is contingent upon interest and participation.

As mentioned on other threads, this is one area I feel the Uke's group has excelled at. With you and CJ participating in both clubs, I am confident that with collective efforts you will make it work.

Addendum:

Brew City and Uke's Clubs need to function as one for the National Brag events. In fact, Windy City and perhaps Waterloo and Doc's should be included in this scenario.

Quite simply, you need all the volunteers you can get to work these functions, especially the rides. Collectively, you just may be lucky and get enough volunteers that have the time to work the events.

I have a feeling that the upcoming POT will teach a lot of ride/event management techniques that will help you get through both the planning and implementation stages for the Homecoming.

Just remember, the Homecoming will be quite structured by merit of it being a corporate event as opposed to the Buell 20th which was an enthusiast event. Think about it and your instincts will guide you.

Dana...That's great. Did they address how to conduct events like this?

If yes, you may want to reflect on it and share the info with those that haven't attended yet for coordination purposes.

Incidentally, whoever/whomever organized the ride from Hal's to East Troy for the Buell 20th did an excellent job and would qualify as a mentor for future events.

Wasn't that just pretty much straight down Naitonal with a little impromptu intersection blocking thanks to the initial "escorts" disappearing?
