What time does the Poker Run start?

Our DCBRAG meeting is at 10 am at Ft. Washington, MD. If we have time to make it to Leesburg to get in on the poker run, we might take you up on it!

Jose,
I ran into a little trinket that you might be interested in. Its a Vr1000 zippo lighter. I know you collect things of the vr1000 nature. Let me know if you are interested. Picked up one for myself and can get my hands on another for $20.

Jose..How was the 1200 Lightning? I checked one out closely at the Durham, NC shop yesterday. No demo though. I would like to go to Knoxville for the dealer party and demo but I have burned up all my vacation time and I have to "work". They really are a work of art...just like Erik said.

Speaking of Poker Runs.. Any Buellingans planning on making the one a week from Saturday?

I'm supposed to ride my cruiser.. but was thinking, if I need to 'mark' the start with a Buell, I could do that.. hehehehe.. Let me know if you guys are gonna try and make the run Jose and BRAG of DC.. hell, someday, I may even have a day free to attend on of the meetings.. Since there are no clubs up this way (our one Buell dealer in Manassas said it would cost HIM too much money to start a chapter.. What a dork)

I agree.. Unfortunately they are the closest dealer to me.. Of course, they are also the most un-Buell caring that I've ever met. (so far)I've gotten the distinct impression that if I walked in there and said, "Hey, I've got $12,000.00 cash for a new Buell, sell me one!" They'd say something like.. "Hey, that's nice.. Give it too us, it'll make a nice down payment on a new Ultra Classic with all the chrome it can carry added" ..

I spoke with the owner (who owns a Suzuki franchise as well) and he told me how hard it was to sell sport bikes since the squids have run the insurance up so high it costs more than the bike does MSRP. So I guess he's not too high on the Buells, and neither is his sales staff.. or his service staff.. The only one that seems even remotely interested in having something to do with a lowly Buell rider was the parts manager lady. She was helpful, even if she didn't know the bikes, she at least worked at it and found the correct parts (not in stock of course) but she'd be happy to order them for me.. Hmmmmm.. If I'm ordering something, it's gonna be from someone on the BadWeb (knowwhatImean?) So yeah.. They are NitWhitts.. or maybe just WhittLESS!

Right on Blublak. I work right across the street so on occasion I'll suck it up and get something from Whitts but it hurts. I agree with your post 100% about their apathy towards the Buell marque.

Hey Jose, Lee.. and all the rest of the DC Area BadWebbers..

Do I have a reason to bring out the 'Bolt Saturday? Are any of you guys heading out to the poker run?

Like I said, if there are no Buellers coming, I'm going to (wife and others will freak if I bring the 'Bolt, but if I have a good reason... hehehehehe..)ride the Harley (not that I mind that much.. it's a great bike).

So.. Is anyone going to make the run?

We're going to try but our meeting is at 10 am so to make it to Leesburg by 11 will be difficult. Depends on how many people show up and want to go.

Ride the Harley, just in Case

The 1200, lifted the front wheel with the throttle only, not bad.......

Jose,
Will do.. Still hope to see you guys make it out there.. if not, well.. I still have the ride plan and can get it to you sometime.. Some really nice roads you guys may not have seen (being on the other side of the 8 lane death strip)..

You got a 12?! Cool! When, which one (did you get another 'R' or did you go with an 'S' this time?)

Later.

No I didn't get the 12, I rode one very briefly thanks to Frederick HD at the FUSA races at Summit Point (see picture above).

Well.. Despite the weather, and some suckin' early morning cold.. The ride went off as scheduled (actually we ended up delaying about 30 minutes).. Following that we had several groups from 2 to 10 riders head out following the path I set out..

One group got kinda lost when one of the stop workers had the brilliant idea of giving them a 'short cut' to get them to the next stop .. faster.. (don't worry, they were only a little pissed when talking to others about the great road they never saw...)

In the end, about 35 bikes made the run.. a piss poor turn out compared to last years.. But then it was warm and sunny last year.

No Buells made the run, which was plotted on a Buell.. hehehehehe... Go figure.. We did have a Gold Wang that was complaining about scraping his pegs, pipes.. etc.. Not my fault, I never said anything about speeds they had to maintain.. hehehehe...

Jose, one day in the future here, we'll have to meet up... and I can get you some road plans.. and vice versa..
