Riding a bike....ick.

Couple years ago the wife & I decided it would be cool to go buysome bikes & we would ride the local trails & get some exercise. LOL, that lasted all of one ride. We put about 10 miles on the bikes the 1st day & she never rode hers again. I rode mine maybe 3 more times & finally last year gave it to my daughter.

I think a lot of had to do with the fact that I dont like mountain bikes & thats all they sell now days. I had a 15 speed with the front & rear suspension but with those damn big knobby tires, if you stopped pedaling you would coast all of 5' before stopping.
I always preferred the old 10 speed Schwinns with the curved handlebars & the tires that are about 1/2" wide. Coast forever on those bikes.

Course then there is also the rollerblades the wife wanted 2 years ago. I went out & spent about $250 for the skates & all the gear. She used them a whole 1 time!!! Up at Road america for a Brag track day while I rode she skated..or perhaps a better phrase would be "attempted to skate": D

I have been on a few rides and the Trek 100 has stood out as the best. You need to raise $1 per mile and there are 3 routes 25m/100km(62m)/100m.
There are well stocked rest stops every 5-8 miles and excellent sag support. It's got a very friendly atmosphere. The first year I got a flat and needed a new innertube, I had no cash or ID, the guy from Wheel & Sprocket put it on and gave me the box it came in so that I could go to the store later and pay for it.

I recommend it without hesitation. Though it was the cause of Donut's intense sheep phobia.

We could sign up to do it as a group! I bet Kirk would donate!

Of course there may be some minor schedule conflicts.

I like sheep. Some of them simply needed to know their place. I get more then enough lip from Dull without getting it from some backwoods farm animal.

That's a lie, I have never let him do with me that which he does with sheep.

True, Dull does not like to be treated as gently as I treat sheep.

Hello Everyone,

Hal's has offered Brew City an opportunity to help grow our club. Hal's is
a sponsor of the Milwaukee Rumble ("Tough Guy" competition) and will be
having a Pre-event at the store this Saturday, January 31st.. The event
will be "Big Glove Boxing", which is held in one of those giant inflatable
rings and the participants use giant gloves to try and beat on each other.
I was the referee at this event 2 years ago and it was hilarious to see
people try and beat on each other. Anyway, Hal's has asked Brew City if we
could supply the referee's for the event. Hal's has also offered us the
opportunity to set up an information table about Brew City BRAG.

Once again the event is Saturday January 31st. The hours would probably be
around 10:00 a.m. to about 4:00 p.m.. If you are interested please contact
me either by e-mail or phone 414-443-0879 and I can get you more exact
times. This is a fun event and is also a great way for us to promote the
club. Thanks.

Have a nice day and as always, enjoy the ride,

Jerry

Sounds like fun. Think I will drop in and watch the melee if it ever stops snowing.

By "mate" you mean like British, you know buddy or chum. Right? Right? Guys... why is everyone laughing?

Laughing because Newfie was "Americanized" last summer. Understand he has been having real communications problems on the "Rock" ever since. Even suffers from delusions about moving here. Then again, that would be a real "Asset" for Wisconsin.

Hey Blastin'...You must really be busy. We never hear from you anymore unless it is official club business.

You should check in once in a while and let us know what's up with You and Diane.
