I am looking at getting a Vance & Hines Carbon SSR2 slip on for my 96 S2. The bike is stock. Anyone with advice? How will this affect power / weight / noise? Will I have to get the S2 re-jetted? Thanks all. Take care, be safe. |

Not the wrong section if he was looking for a local reply in addition to a global one. My opinion is that I avoid the V&H stuff. My S2 (occasionally for sale, like now) still has the stock muffler. If I change it out I'll go with a SuperTrap or D&D or home-made. Saw an interesting internal coil exhaust recently that got me thinking some. I don't like the idea of having to repack a muffler. Regardless, you'll be looking at rejetting the carb and resetting/correcting the ignition timing. |

D-Nut...Don't recall the existing mods to your bike, but if you are swapping out mufflers, you may as well do the air filter and intake mods at the same time as both will require rejetting the carb and resetting/correcting the timing. |

I am starting to think that if it is not broke, don't fix it. The bike is stock, I imagine that may make it fairly unique. |

Put some miles on it first, then as time and miles go by you'll discover what you want and what you need from the bike and what you want and what you need to do to the bike. Ride first, wrench later, unless wrenching in necessary to get riding, then reverse the process. YMMV |

What are some off the things that BCB has done in the past besides rides. Field trips to the factory, bike washes, any charity works, other? Just curious. (And bored at home with nothing to do.) |

Been looking around, The one I posted may be Madison, WI PD. I also found black S2T's and S3T's for Duluth MN PD. |

Never seen East Troy with S3's. They had S1's setup with the lights & all. Primarily used em for parade type duty. |

During the 95th reunion I went past the hotel parking lot which had 100's of out of state police bikes. I saw about 30 S3Ts from various locals. I know I've seen a department in Georgia auctioning off a couple on ebay a while back. So, there are quite a few. |

You know I missed those PD S3Ts while I was there but I do remember someone saying something about them at the time. Man that was fun. To bad you didn't have a bike Donut. Ha Ha your life sucks. P.S. - In regards to your reply to this post: I can buy a new bike but she'll be your mother forever. PPS - Donut and I are going to a tapping at Rock Bottom Brewery this monday and everyone here is invited. In exchange for accepting a free membership there they give you free beer and appetizers for an hour whenever they tap a new brew, about once, sometimes twice in a month. It's right in the middle of downtown M'wakee, between Wells and Wisconsin on Plankinton Ave. |

The tapping is at 6 PM. I will try to get there by 5:45 PM. If anyone is going to make it, let me know, we can meet up stairs and get you signed up. Hey Dull, Did I hear there was another "free" T-shirt offer? I may have to look into that. |

Blastin/Jerry, (and/or any other pedal pumping peoples) Are you planning on any pedal events or rides this year? I'm finally seeing the light at the end of the tunnel on school and de-storage-uniting and might actually get the bicycle(s) out once again. Just wondering of any upcoming rides (non-Buell, the BRAG ones are noted) that you might know about. Might think about a little friendly racing this year or next (probably next due to my current state of lack-of-training-itis). Just starting to mark up the calender. Any good beginner-easy ones without major fundraising requirements would be great to know about as well. I've also got the spare new trailer hub set aside and findable in the garage for the next time we cross paths. (Okay, back to roadbikereview.com and wisport.org and wicycling.org and freegolfinfo.com and a varied assortment of other distractions.) |

It's not an ailment, it's a highly developed state of tune that takes years to acquire , and more than a few months to reverse.
