Hey all,

I know that there are several options in the aftermarket for LED replacement taillights/turn signals, but I'm planning to design and build my own. My reasons for doing this are to increase the brightness of the lights, over and above what i've seen out there, and to incorporate a "chasing arrow" effect, where an arrow moves from the center of the brake light outward, in the direction of the turn signal.
I intend to house the leds in the stock light housings.
I may also include a blue dot, like in old cars, just for fun.

My question to the group is if anyone would be interested in such a thing, either to bring build costs down (bulk purchase of leds, microcontrollers) or as a possible purchase in the future?

I have no intention of going commercial with this, i just prefer to make my own stuff rather than buy it.

I guess what I'm asking is should I make an extra set, just in case?

Gene
