My case is a little different. Building a house and getting married in June kinda killed my chances for going this year. Just about every weekend is filled up until then. I may get to ride other than to work if I am lucky this spring. Although I think I am going to get out this saturday if the weather holds to what they are saying it is going to be!!! They're supposedly moving to a rally in New Bern, NC. Don't know if their absence will make much of a difference. Only the HD Dealers Association will not be present, which was set up over at Hard Rock last year (all the demos and such). The local Dealer is going forward with the bike week as planned... but should be way down as compared to previous years with all the opposition in Myrtle Beach...   Hughlysses Posted on Tuesday, March 03, 2009 - 06:15 pm:        Local news was reporting that North Myrtle was still encouraging bikers to show up. I went to Myrtle for the first time in quite a few years a couple of weekends ago. They were living in Winston-Salem and my brother was offered a big promotion if he transferred to Myrtle Beach. The wife did not want to live in Myrtle Beach. He took the offer. His now ex-wife got half his pension, the house and $3K a month in alimony. I could sort of understand if they had a new buyer lined up to build some massive hotel, condos, or amusement park, but why bulldoze all that and then leave empty lots for 2 years making NO money? Evidently a lot of nearby businesses are starting to fold too. Hey Jim- you're old enough to remember this if you ever visited the Pavilion when you were a kid. Turnout seemed pretty low compared to other years and the number of vendors at the speedway was pitiful, unless you own a Harley. I've heard the city has been jacking up the vendor fees recently in order to discourage attendance. Buell was there with their demo fleet but set up in the middle of the Jap and Euro bikes on the west end of the speedway. All the Harley stuff was on the east end. BMW had their demo truck at the dealership in town. That's one way to avoid vendor fees! Hugh- Yes, I remember that arcade game. Too bad I'm no relation to the manufacturer. He probably didn't die rich but he might have left a few of the games in mint condition!   Scbuellkat Posted on Friday, March 06, 2009 - 06:54 pm:        This is what I saw today when I stopped by the Thunder Tower HD and Buell dealership. I was completely blown away by what I saw. Got to sit on a CR and man that thing is comfortable for me, at least sitting still. They have CLOTHING now!!! You need to see it and they have LOTS of Buell's. They just need to sell a few, but the unfortunate thing is that I cannot help them right now And Man are those white and blue firebolts and 1125R's are awesome looking. Great color combo!!!
