130 miles today on the Suzi. With the new bar set-up I stood 90% of the time off road. The creeks were nice and full and I kept the rubber side down all day. Did an awful good wheelie through a creek with two young ladies as witnesses. NUTS

Thanks Nuts,
I'm sitting here all bundled up, looking out the window and cherishing this day because I know come summer I will want this day back.NOT
But then I don't have to wait till summer,it's going to be in the seventies by Sat.In a couple of weeks I can send my only long sleeve shirt to the cleaners and get it ready for next winter.
Seriously though, did you guys get any snow out of this last storm, I heard Charlotte NC had four inches.
Racing season will be starting soon, can't wait to have something to do.Unfortuniatly riding down here just doesn't do it. Poor "Ole Buell" had a cobweb on it the other day, brought a tear to my eye.Darn you Nuts, now you've made me sad.

Charlie, it is going to be in the hi 40's today but not until this afternoon. I'll take the time to adjust the primary chain on the Uly as it was a bit difficult to shift last time out. I need to pick up an O ring for the oil case on the Suzuki before we go out to play in the mud.

I spent the better part of three hours with Seth trying to fix my mountain bike I mangled last time out. We arrived at the decision it was un-fixable without new parts. I can't tell you what a relief it is to be stumped by a bicycle. So much better than working on a motorbike that can destroy itself and you at upwards of 60 miles an hour. NUTS

Glad to hear Seth is out and about, haven't heard from him in quite awhile.I agree with your mechanical comparison, although you can do a lot of bodily injury on a down hill run with a bicycle and no front wheelno personal experience at that. Although I did get cut-off once on a down hill(10 yrs. old)and T-boned a tree. Tried to jump thru the V in the tree, only got half way thru and I was a lot skinner then. Took a couple of guys to get me down. Bruised knees and rib's(was lucky)

5/8-3/4 on the primary..

tested.
Any tighter than 5/8= whyne.
7/8= slap.

More than 30min to diagnose a bicycle...

Fortunately, I exhibit less self control while riding a pedal-cycle than a motorized one. This affinity for lunacy has allowed my friends to laugh uncontrollably each time we go for a ride. I have tried to clear this one particularly awful mud/leaf/water/log pit twice so-far. Once on the upside, once on the downside. Each time I have gone ace over teets in the funk that has been brewing since summer.

So when the bicycle doesn't want to shift correctly or has the bars and frame out of alignment; it isn't something ordinary. It has been NUTS'd.

I get called Mongo alot on the bicycle.

Thanks for the info Nuts, I'll know not to buy any used bicycles from you.
I bought a used bicycle off eBay this year for my grandsons Christmas present.Got it real cheap(it came from the Galveston area:hint) I stripped it down, cleaned and repacked all the bearings. Did a special paint job and a demolition seat(20"BMX bike) looked trick. He was tickled to death with it...............Some butt hole stole it and his buddies bike while they were in the movies last week. Gave the serial # to police but not expecting much.Hasn't shown up at any pawn shops yet.

that reminds me. When I was a young pup my brothers and I left the garage door open one day. The neighbor knocks on the door and tells us some kids just went in and stole our bikes. Dad hops out of bed in his skivvies, grabs the Sig-Sauer and goes off running down the street. He knows who did it as he has had professional run-ins with these folks before.

We all head out in the general direction the neighbor said they fled. Shortly we found two of the bikes in their backyard, in a hole covered by plywood. Dad found the other bike with a rider he quickly convinced to get off the bike.
He then proceeded to kick their front door in give fair warning to the 15 occupants of a two bedroom home that should anything else like this happen again they would all be eating tooth soup.

While we were looking for the bikes, my cousin and I were running through backyards, hopping fences as we went. On the way back we were met by a nice older gentleman who questioned us while he pointed his WWII Luger in our general direction. We told him who we were and what had happened, so he called the PD and verified who my folks were and then offered us a cold Pepsi.

Man, those were the good old days. Getting a gun pointed at you, having your bike stolen, dad running around the neighborhood with his duty weapon in boxers; all settled with a cold pepsi.

True story. NUTS

Mom used to give us a ride places in the back of the patrol car. We'd put our hands behind our back and act like we were crying for the folks at stoplights.

Funny, every time we were in the back a cat/dog/rabbit would run across the street and Mom would have to slam on the brakes. We'd bonk our heads against the steel grate that divided the officer from the perp. We were relieved when they went to bulletproof glass for the divider, though it didn't hurt any less, just different. NUTS

My Mom used to work security for the set of Miami Vice. She'd always ask the prop guy for some of the glass they use to throw people through. It was made of sugar and when it broke thefre wasn't a risk of laceration. I can't tell you the joy of breaking a sheet of glass over your brother's head.

My Doad keps telling me: "just wait til you have three boys, I hope you get three just like you and your brothers, oh I can't wait!" NUTS

Fell off the bicycle again yesterday. I have been pretty good lately about landing in soft spots. Also, nearly endo'd at 30mph as I came off a root drop and the front wheel dug into a horse-hoof-hole. I hope they make glue and dog food out of every last one of them.
Ya know what's worse than trailering a motorcycle? Trailering a horse; honestly, if you can't ride the thing from your home you shouldn't have it. Horses, don't we have motors to replace them? Expensive suckers too. Rant off. NUTS

Charlie,
You misunderstood. Motorized transportation should be encouraged on private land. Public lands should be off limits.
Now if Nuts wants to buy me a KTM I *MIGHT* change my mind.

Nuts,
If Pops ever gets that farm done I just might get me a hay eating machine. I'd pay the sister $10.00 a week to take care of it.
Thats big money to a youngster!

Whats wrong with motorized recreation on Public land? As long as it's responsible use. You can trash public land on a horse ride just as bad as a bike ride.

However on second thought, Nuts on a horse could not be nearly as dangerous as Nuts on a bike(with or without a motor)ultimately the horse would be in charge and a smarter(more sane) mind would prevail.

Yes Nuts,
Monster Jam is truly your calling. You need to get you one of those monsters before you kill yourself on the bicycle. You have the right mentality to be a celebrity in that sport.I'm not belittling the sport, it takes gonads and a flare for theatrics(not to mention a good sponsor)to be successful. You might be short on focus and commitment, but with Ole Turtle Hugger being your advisor and all our moral support, who knows what you can accomplish.
