Here's a possible solution; keep the S3, put a comfortable 2 up seat (the Buell accessory seat with the color matched piping comes to mind)on it and bring your wife with you.

Already offered that solution. 1.Wife won't leave 3 month old baby with ANYBODY. 2.Wife pretty much does not have the constituion to go almost 1000 miles a day in/on any form of transportation, let alone perched on the back of my bike. Either way, I'm goin. She has a year to get over it.

Jason,
My wife used to be that way. She didn't want me to go anywhere without her. The year of the 2000 Homecoming she came along and really took the fun out of it.
What I do now is that if there is ever any chance that she can go somewhere with her friends I encourage her to go. That way when my chance comes up she can't complain.
I also just put one of the Buell custom seats on my S3. It is firmer than the stock one and sits a little higher. I'll need to take it on a long ride to see how the comfort compares. I think the lines of the stock one look better.

Mike, Let us know how the seat works out. I'll be getting a '98 S3-T soon, and I'm not sure which seat I want to put on it. On my last S3, I had the '99-up seat which was miles ahead in terms of comfort over the stock '98 seat. The accessory seat looks like it would be more comfortable for the passenger. Anyhow, no matter which seat I get, it'll haul my ass to Newfoundland next summer.

Jason,

I took my wife to a nice small restaurant on the coast last year and takes about an hour to get there.

By the time we got there her legs were numb and when we got home she never offered to get on again.

She will come around - trust me on this one.

At this point she always tells me "It's your hobby and you go do it!!!"

Newfie-
I was telling two buddies at church today about our adventure plan for next August. One rides an brand-spanking new FJR-1300 and the other a Roadking. They both want to come along. I told them that we Buellers aren't like some bikers, we like 'em all (as long as they're nice to us, heck we even get along with Dyna).

Yeah,

I have started working on a route for you to get - or more thinking about it.

This past weekend I took the 14 hr boat from North Sydney to Argentia - only 1hr to my kingdom, capital city from there.

I am thinking I meet you guys at the boat, roll to my folks place - make sure I give them warning - stay there for a night, BBQ, Screech, etc, etc and a day for those that want to sight see. Then roll into the St. John's for the evening, overnight somewhere there, then start to ride across the island, maybe stay somewhere overnight near the West Coast. Catch the 6 hr boat back to the mainland where I will accompany you to the good old USA for a week or so.

I will put more thought into a route and things to see over the next few weeks but the more the merrier,

Tell your buddy on the road king he better not mind scraping up a set of floor boards as it will happen.

The problem with the moose is that they are so tall when a car hits them it breaks their legs then you have a very heavy animal coming in over the hood into the windshield. A full grown male moose can get well over 1200-1400lbs.

Newfie-
I was looking thru my old Fuell mags. Lo & behold look how is featured last spring. That article got the juices flowing again.
I received my info. packet from Newfoundland a couple of weeks ago and had been looking it over. How many days do we need to spend up there? Two or three doesn't look like enough.

Moose are big & scary and can be quite dangerous, but at least they don't try to eat you.

Its really not enough Mike,

We need a minimum of 4 days if thats possible.

Spidey also mentioned the same thing and I would need to know where you guys want to go on the island.

Let me know so I can tentatively plan some things.

I just won an auction on ebay for an S3 Touring Seat. I think a trip North and East would be a great way to check it out and see how comfortable it really is. Of course, I'll have to get an S3 to put the seat on, first.
I think that after riding for over 2,000 Kms, most folks might want to have a laid back day or two to see the sights and give their butts a break. But I'll go along with what the majority want to do.
Newfie; did you get the artwork I sent you?

What the hell are kilometers! My bike reads in miles and that's what it's going to ride in too.

Oh-oh please don't accuse me of being like Dyna, it was just a joke.

No Crusty,

1000miles = 1600km

There are 1.6 kilometers for every mile.

Didn't you know that my bike reads much, much faster than yours!!!!!!!

Its funny last week I took my friends late 80's Ninja for a ride and the speedometer reads in MPH. I was cruising along at 140 before I realized I was going 140MPH and not 140KPH. I was wondering why I was going so fast too.

Newfie, you're right. I don't know what happened - I must of had a brain fart. 2,000 Kms = 1,200 miles (roughly). 1 Kilometer = 0.61 miles. My only excuse is that my life is very busy and complicated, right now. Did the artwork arrive yet? Do you like it? Hate it? Want to change something? Everything? Let me know what you think. I promise that I won't be hurt if you don't like it. or not too much, anyway

I have not received anything,

I am not surprised when CJ ground mailed the poster it took almost 3 weeks.

Now when I sent an airmail package back to her and one to Court it only took about 4 days.

I'll keep my eyes open.

Go over to the Ukes Thread - I posted a pic of my poster. Your signature is on there.
