Murrae has opened tickets for me when the service guys were not open... this is probably a training issue.

As for being closed, probably a biz decision based on how busy they are. Scott told me they are slowing down as the summer season winds down.

As for the service, I have nothing to complain about. They get me appointments when I need them and get the bike done on time. The wife's bike was in there for an unusual problem and Murrae used his EB connections to get answers - problem fixed. The biggest hold-up was HD/Buell acknowledging the problem and making a decision.

Another bike had a problem which they could have easily blamed on me...SFHD fixed it under warranty.

No complaints re: the actual service but you do expect the dealer to at least take-in bikes even if the service department is not actually open.

I've never had a complaint about the actual service the bike receives. The tech's are all first class, in my opinion. The problem is the front of the house, the customer contact portion. I'm not sure they comprehend that people can take their bikes somewhere else that does not involve a 45 minute drive each way, or that smaller shops charge less.

The only concern about SFHD is the apparent lack of parts on hand...

I was told hey have made conscious decision to stock only Scorpion Sync tires for Buells. WTFO? Scorpions are ok but Diablos and Corsa IIIs are better.

Very few parts in stock... but service is top-notch. The costs are typical...

Dang, you ski? I'm so disappointed in you... hasn't your kid got you boarding yet?

It really is much more fun.

Yeah, he boards. I tried it once. It was the most painful day I've ever had on the slopes. I'll take skis anytime.

Hey NM. was just checking out threads and saw you guys talking about snowboarding. I'm an expert skier (used to teach skiing at Snowmass and Copper Mtn) and also snowboard.

You have to give it at least 3 times out but it does get better and it's actually a lot of fun. Easier on the knees too.

Can't give up after only one time. Try it again (and take a lesson, it really helps).

Oh, I took a lesson. And it did help. But I'm not as flexible as I once was, so...

Yea, I'm not very flexible and actually, have never been very flexible (and I'm way older than you: ). The hardest part for me was getting up from the sitting position so I had to flip over on my knees to get up. A friend of mine, who is a very good boarder, showed me how to get up from sitting and it worked.

Everything she said is true... It takes more then once to really get it and you won't be as sore the next time you try it. By the 3rd time you'll be ready to ride down the whole mountain.

I still have a hard time getting up from the sitting position, unless I'll on a steeper slope. I also prefer to strap in while standing.

The more ya try the more flexible you'll become. At your age you really need to work on it... hehehe

Whatever. I don't think you should have to do something three times to start liking it. I like skiing, so I ski. I can do everything I need to do on them.

BTW

I ran into Conway the other night at the Bull Ring. He wanted to know why no one was riding anymore.

I of course didn't have an answer for that one, since I haven't ridden with you guys in a very long time.

Speaking of which, is it going to be nice out this weekend. How about a frostbite ride on Sunday?

I'd love to, but my Sunday is pretty full already. Actually, my whole weekend is full. My evenings are free though, so if you want to play video games online, I should be available at least some times.

If I'm not going to ski on Sunday 12/28, then I'd like to go for a ride. Anyone interested? I'm still not sure what the ski schedule will be for us, but I definitely want to do something. If we do ski, I'm thinking it'll be Saturday.

Ed and I did a brief ride about town today. Was not too cold and I enjoyed getting out. Helps me clear my head. Of course, it was a bummer when the bike wouldn't start. I put it on the charger for an hour or so and it came to life.

What's funny about all this is that you'd expect me to have some cold weather gear after all these years of riding. The first three years I had my Buell, I rode it at least a couple times every month even in the winter. Now it's really inconvenient to get out in the cold. This is partially because I do not own cold weather gear. Oh, well...
